  1. Coffee tubes, football jigs, some shallow cranks bumping off rocks or ripping through the grass.
  2. I'm looking to rip some lips with Chrome and blue traps, jigs, spinners, and other cranks.
  3. The best buzz bait fish is when you cast it and as soon as it hits the water a big girl swallows it. It's as if she was sitting there with an open mouth saying come on big boy I'll give you a bit of excitement.
  4. I get distracted by wildlife especially if the bite is slow, then I will get a bite and miss the fish 'cause I wasn't paying attention.
  5. Yeah when I said crawl it, I meant reel it slow. A 4.2.1 ratio isn't going to do very well with a buzz bait.
  6. Never tried the shad, my buddy uses crawfish and it smelled like old spaghetti OS
  7. Tiny Brush hog - 1/0 or 2/0 Anaconda - 3/0 Craw - 3/0 Fluke - 3/0 Beaver 2/0 or 3/0 I like wide gap hooks.
  8. Trailer hook. I've just started putting them on my spinners and buzz baits and my hook up ratio has gone up.
  9. If I can get my truck fixed today I'll be fishing this evening in the rain. Luv2fish, I'm sorry to hear about your fall. Recovering from injuries is always hard and frustrating.
  10. I use buzz baits on my Curado crankin' real, it's a 5.1 ratio and yeah I reel a little faster but it's not a problem. I have found it's easier with a bait caster though. The reason why I use my buzz bait with my low ratio reel is that I'm usually crawling it, fast enough to make the blades turn on the top. I used to fish them pretty fast until my buddy picked my buzz bait up and started crawling it, he nailed a 5lb in the same spot I had burned through. He went on to catch a lot more fish after that. So I now crawl it when the water is still, if it's raining or windy I'll pick up the speed.
  11. Ha I fished during Hurricane Irene, right in the middle of the storm, caught 2 on a small purple Pond Magic buzz bait.
  12. Central Virginia? What part exactly?
  13. Gave up fishing?! Blasphemy! And try fall fishing? You won't have given it up for long, today is the first day of fall.
  14. Hopefully this weekend I'll knock it out and be able to go out Sunday.
  15. My pistons have to be twisted in, they won't budge with a c-clamp.
  16. A 5lb smallie around here is trophy sized. I would love to hook into one of those.
  17. I would try to find out what color the craws are in your body of water. They vary among states. And waters. But I go with what the water color is as well. For instance black and blue or green pumpkin for the murky water around here.
  18. I just bought three new heavy jigs from gman, I'm looking forward to using them.
  19. Shallow cranks and grubs when fishing a shallow part of a river. Drop jigs or plastics in the holes. That is what I would do.
  20. I'm currently working on my truck, small easy job, just replacing the brakes. Yeah right... Well almost everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. I had to replace a caliper or caliber (sp?) and the emergency brake cable. And my truck fell off the jacks, luckily there was minimal damage. Only problem now for the rest of the brakes is I can't find the tool to twist in the piston. The one at the store wasn't wide enough. So needless to say I can't take my boat out. This is causing much turmoil to my mental frame. Without the boat. I can't fish. Beating the bank here is useless and I don't have a vehicle to get to the lake. Not to mention the weather has been awful. So what have I been doing? Replaced all the leaders on my braid, re-arranged my tackle, put trailer hooks on my spinners, bought some jigs from GMAN, and have been on this website almost all day every day. I feel like I'm losing my sanity. So my next project will be making a panic box, something I've been meaning to do. I'm going to fill it with, some floating rapalas, small cranks, small jigs, and small grubs. I can't be the only one who goes through this....
  21. I'm not sure what the regulations are in your state but in VA, that's illegal. You're taking the fish out of its environment and taking it to a new one. Survival rates may be pretty low, I mean the bass in your pond are already competing for food sources since the sunnies have out populated it. These new bass are probably fighting to do the same thing. I wouldn't put more in until someone comes out and takes a look at your pond.
  22. Being in South East, VA a lot of lakes and ponds around here have stained to murky water. Now there are some lakes that are pretty clear but for the most part they're dirty. I've fished this water all my life and have gotten used to it. Just wondering what others prefer? I like fishing this stained water because I like using darker and not as natural looking colors. What about ya'll?
  23. A fellow named Catt on here says that a plastic worm is the one bait fish can't remember, I've never heard of this but considering he's a very knowledgeable individual I will certainly take his word for it. The fish may want something else. Maybe with the season changing, their appetite has changed. I would try throwing some other baits just to find out what works. Mucky bottom, is the water murky? If so darker colors have worked well for me, like black and blue, green pumpkin. You can use a light bullet weight like a 1/16 to keep it off the bottom. Or try senkos or other colored trick worms. I've done well here in very murky water with june bug senkos and grape trick worms. Always be open to using different techniques and baits.
  24. I guess I better get on it then, I'm looking to order some Big O jigs from GMAN. I was wondering, what color jig did you use from him that you used the Falcon Craw trailer? Also with the Bama craw color work just as well as the PB&J color?
