  1. So after doing to researching I ended up ordering two of the Pflueger Supreme XT Spinning Reels that Bass Pro had on sale for $69.88 before they sold out. I ordered two Quantum 2piece Rods for my trip to Canada and am looking at getting two St. Croix Triumph 1 pc rods in about a month. Thanks for all of the help everyone!
  2. I feel like I have learned a lot already. I will probably go ahead and get the Quantum Reel mentioned in the Subject and put it in a Medium Heavy Quantum Rod and use that for Pike and larger fish and I will probably then look over the suggestions here and decide what to get. anybody have any experience with the St. Croix Spinning reels?
  3. I will do that!! Thanks man! Again, I apologize if i sound like a newb. I am just learning and will take all the help I can get.
  4. both with 8 lb line? or one 8 and one 6?
  5. Maybe I will ask this question then. Any suggestions on setups I should be using? As I said I will be fishing mostly bass and welleye. I am looking to buy two rod/reel setups for now with a budget of around $300 total. I realize that is pretty cheap but I am just starting out. I am also going to canada in May with a friend to fish for Small Mouth/Walleye and Pike. thanks again for all the help!
  6. thanks! until this point I have never paid attention to Rod and Reel sizes. Just bought Combos I could afford. So yes, I am very much a newb!
  7. BTW I was planning to put this on 6'9" M/XF Mojo Bass Rod.
  8. I am pretty new to fishing, and am in the process up upgrading my rods and reels. I found a great deal in this reel: QUANTUM ENERGY E40PTi-A SPINNING REEL, but some things I have read say this particular model is too big for bass fishing. I live in Wisconsin and fish mostly for bass and walleye. Would this reel be too big if spooled with 10lb line?
