  1. 3/4 ounce Arky, Black/ Blue with uncle josh meat frog
  2. Using the same strand count as reg cut silicone it should have a faster rate of fall right
  3. I recently ordered some finesse skirts from an online retailer. It's frog hair silicone, not the rubber stuff. I'm not familiar with this skirt material and wondered how it's fall rate would differ from regular silicone skirt material. Being thinner would it fall faster?
  4. I'm using 50 lb braid with a heavy rod, fast action rod. I'm bending hooks, I think it's because of setting the hook on a slightly slack line sometimes. Sometimes I'm opening them on walleye and pike. Just go through a lot of jigs, can't make them fast enough lol. I just put an order in for some of the invader jigs from fishingskirts. Look like an interesting jig. apparently very stout.
  5. Im looking for a stout hook that wont bend. The only hook so far that ive found to stand up to multiple fish for me is the gammy 2034 ewg. .063 gauge. I've tried the owner 5304 and 5317, mustad 32786 and theyve all bent on me. The gammy 2034 is a great hook and it works great for my jig sizes 5/16-9/16 however for my 3/4 arky mold it doesnt work, the hook is too close to the weedguard cavity. Also the gammy only comes in 4/0. Here's what Greg Hackney has said about the hook - (1) So it was no surprise last year when Strike King Lures, with whom Hackney is associated, came out with a its “Hack Attack” signature jig. The jigs come in 3/8 to 1 1/4-ounce sizes in nine colors, with a specially-designed head. A Gamakatsu black nickel heavy wire hook features a 30-degree line tie and is 3/0 in the smallest jig, 5/0 up to 1 ounce and 6/0 on the largest jig. (2) Armed with his desire to have the perfect Flippin’ jig, and the world class design team at Strike King, Hackney set out to produce his dream lure. The outcome would be a lure that is not for the faint of heart, one that would stand up to the rigors of heavy cover and big jaws of monster bass. “The Hack Attack is tweaked to perfection,” Hackney opined. “The weight is perfectly balanced to fall straight down; it has the perfect 34-strand weedguard and a 27-degree line tie on a heavy Gamakatsu saltwater hook.”
  6. Anyone know where I can find these gammies used in the hack attack jigs? Looking to try some in my molds.
  7. Don't forget to put the PLUG IN! Congrats
  8. I know with standard sonar a hard bottom is shown as a red bottom but when looking at structure scan for lowrance is a lighter shaded bottom a harder one?
  9. is it necessary to remove fishing line from the reels prior to cleaning? some of my reels have line thats in good condition that id rather not throw away
  10. Lots of great responses guys, thanks, I'll give them a good cleaning this weekend. Hopefully I don't end up with spare parts haha... I just left bass pro and I picked up the ardent clean and lube kit that was 26 bucks, had a gift card so it was a no brainier. Came in a nice box too with instructions on cleaning and lubricating procedures, I have my work cut of for me now!
  11. I have a MG pro series 80 on my boat with the safari prop, Have no problems going through thick vegetation with it, the stock prop not so much.
  12. When maintaining your reels whether it be casting or spinning do you find there's one brand of oil lubricant/ grease that improves wear, and performance over another? Whether it be for drag, bearings etc? Looking to do some maintenance soon and wondered how much of a difference one brand/ type compares to the next.
  13. exactly how I feel also, I'm happy my woman doesnt like to fish, it would get crowded on the front of the boat! all kidding aside I love my woman for who she is and the things that make her tick, if i was looking for someone like myself it would be a dude
  14. Nice jigs flippin, what skirt pattern is the jig in the first pic lower middle
