  6. I had a heck of a time with fluorocarbon on spinning gear. The line seemed to wirey, sprang off the spool like crazy.I swithed to a co- polymer line ,P- Line evolution to be exact. Ivan
  7. A few years ago, Raul sparked the interest.I have 2 deep X -200, they have been a very good small mouth bait for me.The Moroko color is my favorite megabass color. :)Ivan
  8. I use white and bubblegum. Bubblegum is a dynamite smallmouth color.
  9. Its all about you. If you want whatever it is and you can justify the price, by all means get one, its better than settling for something you really don't want to get the best bang for the buck. Time spent fishing with what you wanted to buy is priceless.
  10. Because the eyes are on the spline of the rod, it's natural backbone. No twist. Thank You for the answer. Ivan
  11. What makes them better fighting rods, than the standard straight guide system ? :-/ It is possible that a rod builder could take apart your existing factory made rods and make them better.I am not a rod builder, but I just had a couple of factory rods redone by a friend who does build rods.I don't know what he does, but you can tell that they are more sensitive, than they were. He also added nice decorative wraps, a better lure keeper and put my name on the blanks as well as removed the foregrip on them as I wanted. I think he went through alot of trouble to prove the point that he could make them better, from a rather heated discussion at the local tackle shop meeting. We were verbally beating him up pretty good. You know he was right, he did make them alot better. Ivan
  12. Rod builders have been using this type of guide positioning since the 1920's, it's nothing new.A guy named Chuck Roberts built rods using this system, many people still refer to it as the Roberts wrap today. If your out west, it is known as acid wrap. The spiral positioning , if done correctly, has a great advantage over conventional casting rod guide system. It allows the line to go from the top of the blank, to the bottom as a spinning rod guide system is designed. The rod is less likely to twist, when fighting a fish and it prevents the line from coming in contact with the rod blank as well.Of course, when using the normal casting guide system. The rod builder would lay the rod guides out to prevent the line from coming in contact with the blank, but the rod could still be subjected to twist under load pressures. The mass production of factory made rods don't take the time to build the guides correctly for the specific rod blank. :-?
  13. If you decide you are going to sell them, I definately would be interested in them to fish. Ivan http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee212/IvanCrane/?action=view&current=scan0001-1.gif
  14. I fish Nis master lures alot. They produce just about anything with fins. The ones with a belly are called stalwarts and they also make the invincable series, Haka and speerhead series lures. I hope this helps. :)Ivan
  15. Thanks for the reply. These rods have cork split grip handle with no foregrip. He must have a few different series of rods out ? Ivan
  16. I have a chance to buy some Gary Yamamoto tournament rods. They are 7'6" 1 piece rods, but I cannot find any info on them.Any help would be appreciated. Ivan

  18. I am from Bath, NY, or central NY. I mostly fish Keuka, Canandaigua, Seneca,Honeoye, Lamoka, Waneta, Cayuta, Cayuga lake, but I have fished other surrounding lakes, just not as often.
  19. Burley, They are on page 351 in the Bass pro shop catalog. I have had them in my mainstay tackle pack for about 6 years now. They are a great bait, usually I fish them on a 1/8 oz. leadhead jig. They used to make them in cotton candy color, which was a super smallmouth color. They discontinued the bait for a year, or so and when they brought it back, no more cotton candy color. :'(Ivan
  20. I have many flipping sticks, but the Castaway Bud Pruitt sticks are my favorite.Look at the HG40 series Heavy action. Its light weight, excellent sensitivity and the Heavy action in the HG series is like a normal MH action of the regular series rod. Ivan
  21. This is my dreamride. I actually got the stella scooter, no sidecar. It gets 90 miles to the gallon and cruises just a hair over 60 MPH. It don't sound fast, but with its precise steering, and the feeling like your sitting in a kitchen chair travelling 60 mph never gets boring, or old as of yet. :)Ivan
  22. I have a MBR783 paired with a Metanium XT.The Metanium is basically the Japanese version of a Chronarch 100b.It is really nice, just thinking the lighter weight MG would be a bit nicer since the IMX is so light. :-/Ivan
  23. Congratulations on your new rod.If I am not mistaken, the Zillion is over the $200.00 mark ? The light weight IMX should be absolutely fantastic paired up with a Shimano Chronarch 50MG.Its considerably lighter in weight than a Zillion for the same amount of money. :-/ Ivan
  24. I only broke off 14 times last year. That was because I was not getting the toothy critter bites that day, which requires you to retie often. Just kidding, I don't break off, but I did miss a few first fish bites because I forgot to set the drags before I started fishing . I should learn since I always back the drags off the last time I was done fishing. ;DIvan
  25. Has anyone ever used Daiwa's warranty ? :-?Ivan
