  1. For those of you not on social media to see this article by fellow prostaffer Jeff Little floating around recently I'll share it here for you all to read. Personally I can't wait to get in one of these boats not just because I'm on the Wildy prostaff but because this will be a great all around kayak. I do a lot of small rivers to the Great Lakes when it comes to kayak fishing the only thing I don't do yet is get into salt water. http://www.wildernesssystems.com/us/experience/team-blog/297/post/wilderness-systems-pedal-drive-development-pedaled-pros

  2. I've been drop shotting for gills and perch lately with gulp 1" minnows, gulp crickets, gulp 1" leaches. Went last week and caught 30 keepers pie plate sized and threw back twice as many.
  3. My buddy just got 4 at cabelas for 35 each last week
  4. It does not. It swings forward out of the way to clear the weeds out.
  5. So if you could create a perfect pedal kayak what would the features be what would your dream pedal kayak be? Instant reverse? Speed? Able to go into skinny water easily? What would make the dream pedal drive kayak in a perfect world.
  6. Your crazy Rick the guys at bark at the moon will never allow this
  7. after fishing our state championship this past weekend ononeida lake my mind is more then made up on pedal drives. Conditions were crap with high north winds Saturday, federation guys pre fishing and a chicken wing run so speed boats flying by from 1130-3 when we got off the water. Guys with the pedal drives did fine saying in position and fishing where I could cast a few times then spend 5 minutes paddling back some guys barely got a cast in though. The guy who won it though and the guy I fished with mostly flat out did better because it's hands free you can pedal and cover water fishing the entire time find active fish then stay and fish it. Me I was paddling till I seen something I liked or seen on the map and liked and fished it. Almost as if they were in bass boats you just use the trolling motor using your foot fishing till you find fish then use it to stay and position. The guy I fished with mostly though got his slot for nationals on Saturday when they added the AOY points so on Sunday we fished together on the last half the day when I was looking for one kicker fish I stayed with the bass boats trying to cull and he trolled around looking for active schools then when he found one he texted me I rushed over to him he left and I fished that school and got the fish I needed to put me in the top three qualifying me for nationals . For me fishing tournaments I've done 13 so far this season pedal drive is a must have more time fishing less time paddling.
  8. Oneida kicked my butt the first day only had one fish went into day two with a mere 10" ground it out throwing the A rig and Mike sieberts swim jig paired with a keitech impact to come back and hold 2nd till the last 10 minutes and got bumped to 3rd. Seen some bass boats from the federation tournament and got in the middle of all of them and started catching.
  9. Well I'm going to national championship o won a slot at our state championship
  10. That's kinda where I'm at my ATAK is more then enough and in many cases way to much especially in the small rivers I fish. However I fish a few of the bigger lakes around here and the Great Lakes so I want to upgrade to the radar 135 and then the ATAK 120 for my river boat.
  11. What's everyone's thoughts on all the new offerings of pedal drive kayaks? Just about every manufacture is offering one. Anything you guys like or dislike about some of the new drive systems?
  12. Some the guides were bent I bent them back all the rings are good. I got a few rods to re wrap this winter I'll probably re wrap some new guides on it also.
  13. No it's got some serious road rash I don't doubt that he found it on the side of the road the knobs had gravel packed in them and are busted up
  14. A guy at work today hooked me up with a free rod and reel today. A quantum smoke and Powell max swimbait rod. He had found on the side of the road. Reel handle was bent and a few rod eyes were bent but I straighten it all out. Normally not a quantum guy but hey it was free and the rod I have been just building my own but again free.
  15. My two gen 3 STXs are going south on me also. When pressing the thumb to disengage the spool it doesn't want to pop back when I go to reel it's a pain since its on my frog and jog set ups where I get bit on the fall or shortly after hitting the water. Gotta sit there and play with it to get it to work again so I can reel.
  16. Tied for first in the regional and the guy I'm tied with won already.
  17. I've upgraded the gun to night vision and some hand loaded Berger 35gr
  18. I love my new job but hate that it's Union
  19. Anyone here qualify for the national championship this year and going? I'm on the bubble of qualifying the way the NY series is ran is backwards if you ask me so I'm not qualified yet. I'm also in 2nd for the regional challenge this month and the guy ahead of me has already won a slot so it should roll down to me if I maintain 2nd but I want first. Our series does top three from state champion gets slots then the other two go to AOY points I think it should be the other way around. I'm 12 points from the cut on AOY which is only a event win away with two events left for the season.
  20. Chunky bait boy............
  21. Thanks
  22. Custom rod I built two years ago
  23. Anyone ever get a double on a Texas rig? Managed it a few days ago and blew my mind. One hook two fish, my guess was the bigger bass tried to eat the little bass not so much the bait since it was so far in the smaller ones mouth. Hook came out the gill plate and hooked the bigger one.
  24. This month my top 5 from there are 19.5, 19.5, 19.75, 19, and 17.75
