  1. The warm rain and sun yesterday kicked the creeks up a notch in productivity. Calling for frozen mix all weekend though. Bout sick of this weather though it’s good for work(tow truck driver)
  2. ATAK 140 pros insanely stable high weight capacity fast for as big as it is 3.5-4mph with out even trying I’ve hit 5.5mph on a sprint several times and it wasn’t hard I’m just fat and out of shape to keep it going for much more than 30 seconds lol. Built like a tank I’ve had mine for 3 season now used it for everything from shallow skinny rivers, big lakes, diver duck hunting on Lake Ontario in January “dodging” ice bergs though it is said to be a flat water boat it handles the nasty stuff with ease. Twice I’ve been duck hunting and been caught in 5+ foot waves the last time this season it was 5+ with occasional 10 according to the weather bouys page and mixed duration. Little scary but the ATAK held up and got me back safe guys on the pier videos said that it was a major selling point to them wanting a kayak that it didn’t flip during my trek back to safety. Though I wouldn’t recommend doing that in any kayak but the wind and shifted and it got bad fast. Seat is extremly comfortable I did a tournament last year that was 5pm Friday-10am Sunday all night and day I only left the kayak to go number 2 and pound some hamburgers Saturday night. Sheds wind extremly well. Watch guysbin ataks when it’s windy they “stay put” so to speak I heard it just a day ago fishing with a buddy in the wind he was jealous I was “staying put” as he got blown all over in his pursuit. It has a removeable skid plate the flex pod is nice and conveinent for your electronics just two latches and you can take it with you or swap between other wildy boats woth the flex pid I think it’s sexy looking cons its built like a tank it’s heavy the Metal carry handles can get hot in the sun the cup holder area on the 140 doesn’t have a drain and can fill up with water at times. Not cool when you put your phone in there occasionally. Its fast so you leave your friends or gf behind when on paddle trips (could go in the pros section also)
  3. His rods are TAAR a rod company based in buffalo I believe.
  4. Another trout today this one on a shakey head and worm. My buddies PB trout.
  5. Swimbait eating brown today on sandy creek while the bass were all hitting trout beads and jigs.
  6. I hit sandy creek Saturday afternoon as well as the creek in Leroy. Few small hits in Leroy on a 2.8 kietech and I missed them between lite hit and guides and line frozen I couldn’t reel. I was just letting the wind and currents take me and dragged the 2.8 Keitech. Sandy creek had something slash at a custom painted bull herring I had done up. I was mostly just testing the swims on a bunch of big swimbaits I bought in the off season. Something slashed at my neon pink herring I saw the mud swirl and felt it but no hook up. Could have been a trout or a smallie idk. The guy next to us was using a neon pink gulp worm floating it like a float and fly and got two smallies out of the same area I had the one swipe at my bull herring. Ive been out twice this year skunked both times though the first time out I had one throw my swimbait after a short fight never saw what it was but it was pulling hard trying to dig back into some cover. Then I had a pike bite the same swimbait off soon as it hit the water. That was on johnsons creek about a month ago when we actually had some spring like weather.
  7. They fit in rod holders yes
  8. I’ll go out in crazy conditions I just change where I go. I’ve got enough places to put the kayak in around me I can almost always fish protected waters regardless of the wind. Last March we got hit with a huge wind storm bringing down trees and telephone poles think it recorded 65mph winds Rochester was out of power for a week because of it. During the storm I was out in my kayak completely oblivious to exactly how bad it was till I got in my truck and started driving and trees were down across the road all over. I knew it was windy 30-40 when I left work so I hit a small lake tributary that’s shielded from west winds like we had.
  9. I’ve been installing the savur floats on rods I build for my kayaking buddies and retro fitting them on existing rods. Pretty cool design and concept not big bulky foam floats like all the others. https://www.savuroutdoors.com/
  10. Thanks again scott! New river its for a swimbait rod its going on a phenix usb 790h
  11. The purple paint sounds like property markers. I’m some states a purple stripe around a tree of fence most serves as a posted sign.
  12. If he harassed you while your hunting you can have him charged with hunter harassment. Sounds like a real piece of work. Each state varies but if you shoot a deer and it goes on his property he doesn’t have to let you get it sole states though say they have to let you though might want to check into it.
  13. I haven’t checked into the basement forums in a while glad to see you haven’t been killed by a laddle wielding Chinamen.
  14. I’ve watched that video like 4 times tonight. I plan on using a revo toro winch for a reel so it would be wide. Also plan on doing it as a spiral wrap.
  15. Straight flouro more than likely
  16. I’ve always struggled with picking guides with all my past builds I’ve just went with micro wave kits that had it all planed out for me. I’ve been looking at the Fuji KR concept and want to try it on my next build. I already have the blank and reel seat Scott is building the grip for me but I still need guides. The blank is a phenix USB790H swimbait blank that a bunch of guys recommended on swimbait universe. I went with the alps textouch seat as well. For guides though I don’t know where to start all I know is I want titanium. I was thinking about Fuji KW double foot titanium torzite size 10 for a stripper guide then the KR concept calls for 5.5 next and I would use the KW again but then it calls for 4s which the KW doesn’t go down to. Would the fuji KB work for running guides or should I stick with double foot being it’s a heavy swimbait build. I looked at a buddies LDC rod and they use a 8 followed by all 5s double foot. Or should I go a complete different approach?
  17. I made them into jerky with some geese sliced thin. I’ve cooked them a number of ways never had a complaint not even from my picky kids.
  18. Contest this weekend we did ok had some technical difficulties on the first night...at least that’s what I’m saying the issue was. Called in 11 coyotes on night 1 killed 1, called 4 fox killed 1. Night two Called 2 coyote killed 2 called 2 fox killed 1. https://postimg.org/image/c8p00bzob/
  19. Built this one over the summer. Super budget build with parts bought off forums and a smoking deal on the barrel. Not including optics I’ve got a hair over $600 invested after the transfer fees on the lower. Chambered in 20practicle for predator hunting. The stock took a little getting used to but it’s not terrible. I’d rather have a full stock on it but in NY that’s a no no unless you pin the mag.
  20. Got two more last night. I got this one and my buddy shot gunned one as well. This is the “good” side as my 20practical did a number on the exit. Think I’m gonna Get a 17 hornet for next season and put my night vision on it and thermal on the 20p one for foxy stands one for coyotes only.
  21. Not really a movie but I just got into game of thrones and have been binge watching pretty hard the last week and a half. Just started season 5.
  22. Depends on the spot but I usually run my AR that I built in 20 practical. Been mixed results on fur. One I blew a base ball sized hole in the other about 1” hole others were no exit to small tears of the jacket exiting in several places. That last big red I got with the shotgun came out great he was big enough that he’s on a coyote board being stretched and dried right now. Wish I had the money he would have been a great one to mount. I’m gonna tan it and hang it with a coyote and gray I got a few years ago that I had tanned. I’ve been considering making a blanket if I ever get enough coyotes.
  23. Shot gunned another tonight. Big brute of a red.
  24. My buddy loves to shot gun them and get them close this year he’s made a challenge for himself to shoot all his predators with his 20gauge because everyone says you need a 12ga for just about everything so we use the 20 for ducks geese and now fox and coyotes.
  25. Been having a pretty solid season compared to last year in the predator calling. We’re up to like 11 fox and 2 coyotes between my calling partner and I. Some have been with my 20practical I built and the others were shot gunned with a 20gauge and 3 buck, both coyotes so far were downed with a 20gauge.
