  1. Thanks Captain, I have been looking at Google Earth for the past week. Around here there are no old school "Tackle Shops". Just big box stores and gas stations that sell nightcrawlers and chicken livers for the catfisherman. I've been asking around. The last bass tournament results I can find for the river had a total weight of a 5 fish limit weighing 5.4 pounds. Out of a 25 boat tournament only 3 boat came in with 5 fish and 10 came in with 0 fish. That is with a 12" size limit. I hope we catch something and we have good weather. I'll keep beating the bushes sorta speak for info and maybe a fish. Thanks again an wishing you good fishing. Clint

  3. Negative, 2 young kids and a job on call 24/7. I'm luck to fish 5 times a year from my boat.
  4. Tried posting this up in the Northeast forum and only got one response. I was hoping some of the Mississippi river and Missouri river guys might have some advise. There has got to be some river rats on here somewhere. Anybody got any tips on fishing a big river like the lower Ohio River area for Bass? Looking to take a wounded warrior fishing next month for a VFW event and I have never done any river fishing for bass.. I told him not to expect much but I would like to put him on some fish. I've been looking at maps and there are several long islands that are shallow on the back sides. We are going to be fishing around Owensboro KY. I only see one creek that looks to be wide enough to maybe get a boat up into it a little. I'm just clueless where/how to start. I'm doing this for a friend to help out with the wounded warrior program. Thanks Clint

  7. Sorry I did not see this before you went. I live near Deer Creek Lodge and was a charter member back in the 1990's. I never knew that they had a place to fish. Must be something relatively new. I dropped my membership 20 years ago because of the way it was run.. Hope you had good luck.

  11. Fellow BCB Owners, The date has been scheduled for the 2013 Kentucky Area Bass Cat Owners Tournament (K.A.B.C.O.T). This two day event is scheduled for Father’s Day weekend June 15 & 16, 2013 on Kentucky Lake with Kentucky Dam Village being the launch site. We hope to make this event fun and you’ll bring your family. For those that can’t make it we’re sorry if we didn’t pick a weekend or location that works with your schedule. Hopefully we can make this an annual event and make it grow. This area of the U.S. has needed a BCB regional event. There will be a mandatory pre-tournament meeting that Friday evening before. A cook-out is planned that evening and the area’s best lake guide, Captain Dave Stewart of Bass Buster Guide Service, will be there for a brief speech and answer any questions. We’re still growing this event and looking for additional sponsors. If you know of any potential sponsors please let us know. Rules for the event will mirror SEBCOG rules and 1-13 will apply with the exception of changing Alabama to Kentucky. Event hours to be determined. The weigh-in each day will be handled Fisherman’s Headquarters’ who has graciously offered to do this for us. They are the areas largest bass tackle store and just a short drive to Draffenville. Please support them as they are supporting us. Our special room rate is $44 a night and tax is included and is good for all days in your stay, not just the tourney weekend. Just tell them you're fishing KABCOT. They have a huge lighted parking lot with electrical outlets for boat charging. Parking places are large and don't require you to disconnect your trailer. All rooms have fridges, microwaves, Cable TV, WIFI, ect. Lobby has a computer for use as well and a laundry room.
