  5. Location is a key factor. But your probablly not going to catch 5lb bass on 7"worm I dont care what the location is. The baits I have listed are big baits for me and they work.
  6. Up until two years ago all I caught was mostly 1-3lbs bass. Then I read a simple article" If you want to catch BIG BASS then you have to use BIG BAITS". Since I have started using big baits like 5-7" swimbaits,10" ribbon tail worm etc. I have just been killing them big bass after big bass. My biggest was this year 7lbs on a 10" worm. Over the past two years I have not caught much under 2-1/2lbs. If you want to catch big bass you have to use big baits.
  7. Anyone have any insight on the Battinkill river in upsate N.Y. I am heading there for weekend but never fished it. Any advice would be great!

First I caught a 2-1/2lb small mouth on a crawdad crank in the rocky area of the res, fished for a while and decided to move to some flooded brush area, first cast with YUM brushhog black I casted as close to the flooded brush as I could before it hit the bottom BANG!!! 3lb largemouth.. and I lost two largemouth earlier in the day. But they are out and very aggresive!! Man I love fishing!!!

  19. don't set the hook to soon, you need to wait until you feel the fish on the line then set the hook. You get so excited seeing the splash and you want to just bamm! set the hook but you need to wait an extra second then set it!!
