  1. So I was thinking if I went into a dealership, they would try and keep me from going to another to get the best price. Take $5k cash and tell them I’d finance the test with them, then see what I can get
  2. Don’t need specific pricing but if you’ve seen Tritons being noticeably less expensive since they are basically the same boat. Looking at the 18foot in both
  3. So my plan was to take $5K cash to show I was serious about buying a boat that day. I would finance the rest as I know this helps their bottom line. Just wondering best way to negotiate buying a new boat. I figure with everything going on now, they may be even more willing to make boats move.
  4. So I have a Ranger, Tracker, Lowe, Crestliner, and I think Xpress dealer all within an hour. I know which boat I prefer, but would be happy with the others for the right price. Would it be dumb to walk in with $5K in cash, say I’m buying a boat that day but it depends on who’s giving me the beat deal and see what happens? Would you start with my preferred boat? Or is this just a dumb tactic?
  5. So I went out today, used my cumara 74 heavy fast and it fished almost the same as my crucial 72 MH extra fast. I think it's the tip. What would you compare the crucial or Cumara to? The Zodias or the Expride? Crucial was zodias price point Cumara is expride price point but there didn't seem to be much difference in crucial vs Cumara
  6. So I snapped my 7.2 MH crucial this weekend, EVA grips, about 2014 model. I absolutely loved that rod, more than my Cumara. The backbone and feel was great. Any suggested replacements in the 250 less price range? Bottom contact, pitching and flipping.
  7. Ok, I went back and it was there. It's actually a concrete statue, owners must have put it there to scare people, it worked!
  8. If it makes u feel better, went fishing about an hour after a colposcopy, let's just say I had to chum a little
  9. It looked like it had scales like a reptile. Honestly, I've already sent an email to the news and showed it to the owners of the marina. They said don't show anybody cuz they rent paddle boards and it would be bad for business
  10. I haven't been on in a while and nobody who looks at these pictures has a clue. I took my 5 &3 year year olds fishing about a month or so ago, my daughter caught a bream in the cove, when I leaned over to put it in the water this is what I saw. Head was about the size of a pony, neck like a seahorse. Normally I would have netted or shot it but not with kids in the boat freaking out. It scared the crap out of me. Lake is about 400 acres, river fed, had just gotten about 4 inches of rain with last 36 hours.
  11. i actually have the HB rf15, i used it to fish a neighborhood pond that didn't allow boats. It works good for finding structure out in the middle of the lake. Don't live there anymore, so i could sell it. PM me if interested.
  12. I drive a lot, wondering if there are any shows or podcasts that I can listen to on my iphone while I'm driving? Thanks.
  13. Two things. My friend made a couple of big holes, about the size of a car that was deeper than everywhere else. Also, he god a few hundred pounds of crawfish and dumped them in to get a healthy population of crawfish.
  14. So my local 800 acre reservoir I fish is about 10 feet low and I went fishing from the bank yesterday. I saw numerous BIG worms and grubs laying on the bank. When I say BIG, nothing like i've ever seen before. This worms are 12-15 inches long, but they are over an inch THICK, the grub i saw was about 6-8 inches long and almost 2 inches thick. Sure would like to find the guy fishing them to see if he's been catching the big ones with it. Numerous 10+ pounders have been caught out of the lake and I've never fished anything that big or thick
  15. Well, I just got my new Heavy Cumara in to compare against the Cashion. I've always used the MH Cashion as my jig rod (football/offshore) jig fishing, wanted to see if there was another high end rod that might be better. I got the Cumara and fished with it from the bank, haven''t had a chance to take the boat out yet and try it on rocky points to compare. One thing i do like about the Cumara, the Heavy really handles 1/2 oz jigs well. It seems sensitive but not sure it is more sensitive than my Cashion, i'll update when I have enough time on the water with it.
  16. so the lake i primarily fish is about 800 acres but is not in navionics or any other software. I would like a program on my phone that will allow me to track waypoints and mark spots with gps and anything else. Is there an app that can help me?
  17. So I am among the many on this board vowing to become a better jig fisherman. So this weekend, i went out to the pond with only jigs. I ended up catching 6 total in about 1 hour of fishing. I wasnt pitching/flipping, I was casting/dragging. What was interesting, the smaller fish I caught, all hit it like a freight train. The biggest fish, about 4lbs, never felt a thing, just saw the line jump, set the hook, and it was on. I have an incredicbly sensitive jig rod that makes casting jigs and detecting bites much easier, all in all, a good weekend.
  18. So i picked up a Plueger President spinning reel and some nanofil for shakey heads. The reel is awesome and I really liked the nanofil. After reading some of the negative opinions on nanofil, i took a chance....very sensitive and haven't had any of the issues of breaking off or fraying. This is a great setup.
  19. Wow, as i said, i love my cashion, i had just never fished any of the other high end rods to compare with it. i'm trying to find someone with a cumara or imx to sling side by side. I tried a duckett and there is no comparison. Hey bassahol, i have the 7' MH Cashion for jigs, how heavy of jigs are you dragging witht the H?
  20. So i have a cashion rod that I really love for jigs but I don't really have any high dollar rods to copare it to. I was thinking of getting another $200 rod and needed some help. the cashion is the only experience I have with more expensive rods, wondering if anyone has fished cashion and possibly the cumara to see how they compare, or the dobyn's champion? I would be using it for 1/4-1/2 ounce football jigs, not pitching/flipping heavy cover, but dragging ledges and such. I want the most sensitive rod i can get in that price range. I only spend a lot of money on the bottom contact rods so the only other better rod I have is a falcon lowrider but would never use one of these for jigs. Thanks in advance.
  21. Cashion, got a 7'MH for jigs that i absolutely love. Matt is a great guy
  22. the spring was evidently incorrectly seated in it. fixed and and she works great. thanks!
  23. i have the DS rod. Was really surprised at how sensitive it is, i use it for shakey heads some too. the action is a little light, don't know about using for big walleye. it handles bass nicely, i would definitely buy another.
  24. don't think so, it looked like it just got on the spool, just cleaned the rest to do it. it worked perfectly before, i may have put the spring in wrong. i'll check and touch base later. you've done work for me before DVT and was very impressed.
  25. i took out spool/brakes and lubed them with reel butter, lubed the levelwind. i took off the cast control knob, took only the spring out and drop a dot of lube in there. i have a magnetic bowl i put all parts in, didn't take any small pieces out. i unfortunately was lazy and didn't put this rod and reel where it belonged and my weedeater leaked gas/oil down on the reel so i had to give it a good cleaning. won't make that mistake again. i'll make sure the spring is in there right. this is the first reel i've seen where there is a spring in the cast control knob. none of my calcutta's have this.
