I bought a Verdict rod last yr because i wanted to pair it with my other premier reel. I loved the rod the first couple of times i used it. I have not been able to use it much since then because of my work schedule. That being said two weekends ago i was fishing in a tournament at Lake of the Ozarks when i went to set the hook on a fish the Verdict rod broke in 3 places. It was a 4lb fish. Lucky for me i had a great partner with me and we managed to get the fish in the boat. That night i emailed Abu Garcia about what happened and still have not heard anything back from them. I have emailed them again and still nothing. I have 2 veritas rods that i really like and have had no problems with them. I hope i hear back from Abu soon. Hopefully i just got a bad rod. I love Abu products but this is my first time dealing with customer service. Sorry for the long winded story but i wanted to ask has anyone else had bad luck with the Verdict rods, and if so did Abu Garcia replace it???

Just wondering what everyone got around the holidays fishing wise. Anyone care to share on a must have bait that you recently got? It has been a while since i have bought anything so i need to update my tackle. Hope everyone had a good christmas and happy new years.

I have had some luck with this color here in MO. I have only used the color in the Rodent but i have since purchased some other baits in the falcon lake color. Anyone else have any luck this year with the falcon lake color?

Should have went to BPS earlier this year when they were having their Terminator sale on spinnerbaits. I think they were $10 for 5. Needless to say I stocked up on my spinnerbaits Spinnerbaits are one of my favs to use. It has been very successful for me. But to answer the question like everyone else did yes they do vary from brand to brand. I have several different brands in my tackle and catch fish with everyone.

I use jigs in the winter most of time. I have had lots of success with them. I vary the size and trailor but mostly during the winter I use trailor chunks.

Ya they are very good rods. I have a casting one as well, I also have 2 Veritas. One spinning and one casting. Those are very good rods as well. I am a big fan of Abu Garcia. I think that they make good products and their customer service is usually always great. Hope this helps. I can only speak for what i have owned. I have never used Falcons but i know several people that love them

I have a couple Verdicts and they are great. Very light and sensitive and hold up very well. I do not think that you can beat this rod with the price tag that it comes with. Good luck

I have not really been on the swimbait train recently(I know I am behind the 8 ball here). I have decided to throw some this year so I picked up some Yum Money minnows and some Strike King Shadalicious. I was wondering if anyone has fished the Shadalicious and if so how did it perform for you. Did it hold up well or fall apart after a few bites? I got the sexy shad color as that is all they had in stock. Thanks for the help.

I would recommend the Pflueger Supreme. I have it paired with a Veritas rod. Very good pairing. I use 8lb Flouro on it. I would check into that

I use it. It is great line for the money. Have had no issues so far since last year.

I do not think that you will be disappointed in this reel. It is a very good reel for the money. I would also look into buying the reel from americanbassoutlet. Those guys are great when it comes to working with people and they always have low prices, especially on reels. Hope it works out for ya. My link

Get it right and you'll love it. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the alberto was a 100% breaking strength knot with all three lines on knot wars. The modified Albright knot was yes the winner of knot wars when it came to trying leader material, it beat the uni to uni knot.

I have a buddy that fishes the FLW tour and various other tournaments around the country and he has about $600-$700 tied up in Megabass jerkbaits. He swears by them and he has done quite well for himself fishing so I will take his word for it. Might be something I'll look into buying this year but at $25-$30 a pop it is hard to buy many for me. I will be buying some though just judging by my friends love for them and seeing him catching fish on them when nothing else seems to be working. Just hope I don't lose one

I am a big fan of Berkley's Powerbait Attractant. I have never used the actual spray that you can buy but what I do is when I buy some soft plastics i usually take a few at a time and put them in a powerbait package and let them sit in there to get the smell of powerbait on it. Takes about a week to do. I go as far as to when I use powerbaits as trailers for a Jig I will cut part of the top of the trailer and throw that in my Jig box and after a while my Jigs smell like Powerbait . I know it sounds like a little to much but I am a big believer in the scent that Powerbait has.
