  1. I got a bad feeling ya'll got took!
  2. Felix, the video doesn't work, for me. Sounds like ya'll had a blast. Wish I could have been there..
  3. I was thinking this was a "toilet paper in a zip lock-type thread"..This was way better..
  4. Heck yeah, they are excellent. The Aruku shads are a staple, and the little John's have won me a few tourney's. Can't go wrong with any of their products IMO. Great Company.
  5. Just got my rod from BTD, and it had a Dobyns styrofoam tip protector, more dang paper wrapped around it than I've ever seen. Couldn't hardly get the rod out of the tube. Was impressed, and was thoroughly pleased. Will buy more from them...
  6. I just wish they would have rolled out a plastic blend as soft as the original. I mean if you have permission to sale the copy...do it justice.
  7. Gloomis IMX for me!
  8. I think the Double Palomar is just 2 passes of your overhand knot, before you pass the loop over the hook.. It should already be doubled through the eye, for a palomar.
  9. Weightless Stickbait or Fluke. Thats what I use in clear water, and usually in Watermelon color. Throw it out,and let it fall vertical, be a line watcher. After it sits, pull it in slowly. If that fails, increase the speed and see if can ellicit a reaction strike. Slower presentation works best for me...
  10. Not impressed with the action, kind of a dead bait IMO.. The colors are nicely done, though, and should be easy to match, and available at TW.
  11. I kind of agree with Bobby on this. I doubt any lure will revolutionize the fishing industry. I've seen many "Hot" lures come and go. Fish adapt to vibration, smells, and even terminal tackle variations( like sinkers, lines, hooks); or they get desimated. Hope Rapala has something great for their bottom line, but if everyone is fishing it, it won't be the "buzz" for long. Heck, I like having the latest, greatest lure, and will probably be in line for this. I also know its just a tool, as it will probably have a time/place, but it will be very situational in my heavily structured waters...
  12. Is that his jerkbait?
  13. Haven't been impressed. I have a 7'6 MH, might try it for crankbaits, but its not a bottom contact rod. Agree with most of the comments above.
  14. Here's my experience with the UV Baits. Fished a tournament with the beaver-type in blue and green colors, flipping with a 3/8 oz weight, owner flipping hook with the screw-in spring. Was the first time I had used the Bait, and hook. Hook was awesome, and saved me a bunch of baits(doesn't tear the baits up as bad, and hooked em everytime), and I got bit, and boated more, by double, than anyone I talked with...Great numbers bait that day, high pressure, and fish were tight to structure. My average fish was much smaller than the competition, and finished forth. I've since fished them a few times, and results have been the same, I just catch smaller fish with them. I don't know if the younger fish just see it better, or what, but I can fish other baits (like the rodent, sweet beaver)and just catch bigger fish. I've just about quit using them, based on those results. Whats crazy is its mostly a reaction strike, so you would think it wouldn't matter, but its just what I've experienced in my water...great numbers bait, though...
  15. Ish looks like he has the pattern to win. He's doing somethimg different, in the pads, while others are beating the docks...He got healthy quick, when he found the pattern in both his prelims.
  16. When the water warms the craws have been buried deep in the mud, come out and play. Depending on the soils they inhabit, they can be really red.
  17. Quinn, who won his segment was flipping a jig with a speed craw. it really didn't matter IMO. They were catching em on sticks(Texas and wacky) and flipping Jigs, tubes, beavers, swim jigs, and even a shell cracker. The key was depth and cover IMO.
  18. My experience is that their beaver baits are good. Esp the green and Blue colors. One weird thing, though. I only caught small fish on them, nothing over 2 lbs. Got plenty of numbers, but not what I usually get on a flipping bite. Switched to another company's bait, and got bigger fish, but less bites....
  19. I still use Stren, but only for one application...TOP WATER! Stuff floats really good, but the stretch makes it not that sensitive for moving or bottom contact baits. For dawgs and poppers, where you watch the strike, it can sometimes excel over anything you got, as far as giving the bait action, and keeping them pinned.
  20. I was getting ready for a tournament last year, and spooled up some new line, and walked out of the light to cast a jig down the hill. When I reeled it in, a black cat was chasing it. We have no cats, neither do the neighbors....Scared the crap out of me...
  21. Have about the same findings as you on sensitivity, and distance...really saw no improvement over my current arsenal. What I did find was decreased weight and better accuracy. For pitching at targets, my 7'3 inch micro guide is a beast, and really light/powerful.
  22. I mostly take mine off(seperate), but there are certain baits that I leave them on, because it holds the bait together, and gives it a slower fall....
  23. I'd buy a new Boat,but thats just me.
  24. The new Extreme intrigues me. Have been a Gloomis guy, but might have to look at them..
  25. Revo winch is a really good choice for that price cap.
