Isn't the goal to achieve the most with the talent available? In spite of the leagues attempts at parity, there are more teams that making the playoffs would be a minor victory than teams with a realistic shot at the championship. I don't understand why getting beaten by a better team is somehow a total failure. The idea that winning at any cost is the only acceptable outcome represents everything that is wrong with professional sports in general, and the NFL in particular in my opinion.
And no, I am not a Cowboy's fan. Jerry Jones is not a favorite...
