  1. I’m going to bps today to pick up a new rod to throw a 6" solid soft plastic swim bait on (I don’t fish this much) but plan on using it all weekend long. The swim baits have a hook pocket and I am throwing them on a weighted 5/0 gamakatsu hook 6:4 reel 20lb Flor line. I would like to stay in the $100-150 price range on the rod. Please give me some suggestions if you have tried and tested a rod that you like. Thanks!
  2. Turns out the rod was a Bcr853-GLX MH, so this just might work. I dont think I want to go to a heavy action with the big worm...
  3. Thanks for the advice I defiantly don’t want a whippy rod for the big worm, especially if it doesn’t have a solid backbone. I will check out the 854. He also had a bunch of Cumara's, have you guys fished that rod?
  4. Thanks, I felt it and was thinking the same thing that is why I dint buy it but was thinking about going back and getting it. It felt like it was just a little too light, but I have never set the hook on that model so I don’t know what the backbone feels like. It’s new for $200. So I figured its a good deal either way. I will be throwing the 12" worm allot for the next 2 months but then I will be back to the 7" worm. Seems like it would be great for the 7" with a 3/0 hook, and may just have to really set it hard with the 12" worm and a 5/0 hook. But my main concern is I don’t want to run into problems on a long cast hook set...any suggestions?
  5. Does anyone fish this rod(GLX Bcr852)? I was thinking about buying one for worm fishing mainly 11" ribbon tail worms. I’m looking for something with allot of sensitivity.
  6. A few new 3 1/2 inch hand poured frogs...
  7. Does the Zell popper have more of a chug or splash action to it bluebasser?
  8. Any thoughts? "iovino"
  9. Thanks I will check them out. Do you use a baitcaster or spinning rod when fishing them? I have been using a spinning rod with 20lb braid 6lb diameter. I’m more accurate with the a baitcaster but I like the real long cast's i get out of the spinning rod.
  10. I catch a ton of fish on the Rebel Pop R and I know I should change the hooks on it, but I have been lucky and never had a problem until I lost a big one the other day on it... I was just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on a good hook for this bait. I am looking for someone who actually throws the Pop R and has field tested it. (Im looking to change the hooks out and still keep the feather) Thanks!
  11. I have been fishing a St.Croix Premier PC70MHF for a while and when I went to buy another one it looked different. Same model number but the eyes were in different places and the top four eyes were set different. Does anyone know if they changed anything on their newer Premier rods? One thing I also saw was my older rod has a St.Croix sticker that gives all the rod details, and the new one is actually printed on the rod. I would really like to find one that matches the original rod that I have.
  12. Fish it around hydrilla and when it feels like it has stopped vibrating rip it out of the grass and be ready for a strike if one is around!
  13. Thanks Everyone! I make 80% of my molds and Louie is one of them.
  14. 4" Baby Craw (my version of the Paca Craw) Soild body flat underside. 9" Spring Lizard 4" Louie the Lizard
  15. I want to eat them!
  16. Great info "as always" J Francho.
  17. If you know of a place that I can buy some rage tail craws at a whole sale rate please contact me. I have been using these as a jig and swim jig trailer and I am addicted to them! Yes I know I am late. Great bait!
  18. Anyone know of a good tackle shop close to the Smallwood State Park Ramp on the Potomac River? Thanks!
  19. I went with the Polycarbonate 580 in grey. The pair I lost was the 580 green mirror glass (great for tannic water). I think the glass was a little clearer, but it may have been the green mirror that made the tannic water look good that I fish often. The Polycarbonate is allot lighter and you can tell the difference when wearing them all day. And I like the fact that if I’m running down the river they have a better impact resistance rate. I also saved a little chunk of money, so over all I am happy with them. I would buy either one again, the glass or the Poly. And I also bought one of those goofy looking straps, that I will never call “goofy” again!
  20. I have been throwing a 3/8 swimg jig with a rage tail craw (cut shorter) and I cant put this thing down! I was wondering what some other people use for there Swim Jig trailer?
  21. Sexy!
  22. Jig Man did you return them for the Polycarbonate?
  23. I watched my 580's sink yesterday...I need a new pair, last time I bought the 580 glass. How is the 580 Polycarbonate? Can you tell the diffrence? Thanks!
  24. This is my first try at a River Bluegill. I just started making a few jigs last night...All I can say is messing with these jigs is very addicting!
  25. Those look great! Nice detail in them!
