  1. That's a beutiful dog. Your gonna enjoy him. I got a beagle pit mix. Dog weighs 16 lbs and can track anything. She goes everywhere I do. If only I could teach her to track fish.
  2. Not bad got a mod as a fan, die hard at that. This place keeps getting better and better. I'm so glad JaMarcus is gone. Now if we could just get rid of our Dear Owner. He missed the draft last year which is y we got decent picks this last go around. ;D
  3. Wow I just LOLd and got some wierd looks when I read that.
  4. Checking to see if I'm all by myself or if there are some more people on here that bleed black and silver! The autumn wind is a Raider!
  5. Thanks to all y'all (well except maybe the raider hater, jealousy pure jealousy ;D) for all the suggestions and advice. Y'all have definately given me some things to think about. I knew there was a reason I liked this site so much. ;
  6. ROFL this man done said I got eyed by an angry looking duck. Homie u handled that way better than I would have. I'm glad u made it out safely. I was kayaking on Lake Martin and a wakeboard boat sped past my bow about twelve feet from me. Swamped my yak and threw me out into the water. I know they saw me cause they were looking at me as they sped on. If my flare gun and other nonesuch hadn't floated off I woulda drilled em. treaded water for thirty minutes until someone finally helped me.
  7. Im going to say mostly cranks. If it will do cranks and top waters that would be a huge plus. Still mostly if not all cranks.
  8. Wow a raider hater on the site. Who'd have thought. Anyway. Never put much thought to Shimanos reels. I've personally always fished Okumas. I'm just not real big on their new higher end reels. After all through talk about the Shimanos reels, I might have to try one. However she who must be obeyed has given me permission to spend another hundred and fifty so my limit is now 350. Would that be overkill on a reel or should I stay in the 200 range.
  9. So I'm finally shelling out some money on a new reel. Going to the BPS spring classic so as not to break the bank on one. I want to stay spend no more than 200 dollars. Currently I'm torn between the Quantum Pt Smoke and one of the Revo reels. Y'all got any input or suggestions for me?
  10. So yesterday my brother, his friend "the bass pro", and myself went out fishing on Lake Purdy. The first spot we pulled into seemed very promising. Until the "bass pro" jumped to the front of the boat and manned the trolling motor. We were fishing bunch of downed tree's in a cove that ran from the shore out to about 18 feet deep. The "bass pro" was trolling so fast my crank bait was trailing the boat like a skier. Next he plowed into the trees, and started trolling the boat in circles. > After my brother restrained me from tossing him overboard, Mr Bass Pro got put in the middle of the boat to fish. Due to more of the Pros shenanigans we all got skunked. I feel bad for my brother seeing as how he hasn't caught a bass since he started fishing this December. I just keep telling him to be patient and keep trying.
  11. senile1, they were H20 Express. Light gray top fade down to light grayish silver bottom, With black tiger stripes down the body. Thats the one that I caught the fish on. The one where the fish got off the lure was a old silver Ratltrap, with blue top and orange bottom.
  12. Hi, and welcome.
  13. paul. Thanks for the advice on the hooks. I will definately be doing that. I went to Academy Sports on Sunday and bought twenty five of these baits. They had them on sale for 2.88. ;D Hopefully the weather will clear up tommorow and I can try them again. The wind was blowing so hard today I couldn't feel the bait or keep a tight line on it. :-[
  14. WalMart all the way. Least until I get my lifetime license after I get back my tax refund.
  15. If not having a boat is not a problem I would be interested to know more about it.
  16. Very nice fish.
  17. 27. But my shoulders and knees feel like they are 50.
  18. I caught my first fish ever on a lipless crankbait today at lunch. It weighed in at 2.3 pounds. Four years of fishing and I finally got a fish on one. On the downside I lost what appeared to be a monster later in the day on the same lure. He threw the lure thirty seconds into my fight with him. Still I finally got a crankbait fish!
  19. Hi there. I just got real into bass fishing about a three years ago. I've dabbled at it for the better part of ten years, but no where near the extent of the ast three years. Most of the fishing I do is in a pond behind my work, Lake Purdy, and Logan Martin Lake. I'm always open to advice and hope to learn much much more about this sport.
