  1. I know right. I went to a university for a year and half and bombed right out. Personally I didn't want to sit behind a desk all day. That seemed to be all I could find there, were classes training you for a desk job. However after a year doing menial jobs, while trying to figure out what to do with my life. My dads friend offered me a go at electrical work. He put me in his apprentice program and I haven't looked back. I got a journeyman electrical card and am a year and a half away from getting my masters license. I can also past any welding test up to and including a 6G test. Anyway, I wish more schools would push trade schools and apprentice programs, as well as college. The best advice I was ever given was by an old man that worked a casting machine at US PIPE with my father. It was the month before I went off to college. He told me, "Son always remember that some of the happiest people in this world are those that come home nasty and smelling like %&*# at the end of the day." And you know what? I'll be danged if he wasn't right.
  2. Wish someone had told me this when I first started fishing. Would have saved me a small fortune over the past four years. Yet you live and learn. You know I kind of wish I had discovered Calcuttas before last year. That in and of itself would have saved me a fortune. Instead of having fourteen medium to high end reels, I could have just bought fourteen of them and been done with it. Now I'm having to scrimp and sale stuff off, to make that happen. Oh well as long as I'm catching em, I can't complain to much.
  3. Any coon hunters on this site?
  4. I agree, whole heartedly, just get that degree. The more people that chase that paper the fewer who enter the trades. That is why my price keeps going up. Us tradesmen are becoming fewer and fewer, and in direct correlation our rates increase. Never thought I would be so happy that I got thrown outta college. Don't get it twisted though my younger brother just graduated. I have nothing against Anyone getting a college education. It just amuses me how everyone today is so deadset on getting that piece of paper.
  5. What gives?!?! First I had to work so late that I missed the first three quarters of the game. Then my internet is out when I get home. So I missed the fourth quarter of the game. (Charter Cable of Birmingham wasn't showing the Raiders game.) Then we go and lose to the dang Cardinals. The three positives out of this. 1 its only preseason. (we are always bad in the preseason) 2 the Broncos lost too. 3 the Raider Nation always overcomes. No one can keep the Silver and Black down. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE
  6. Cardinal the bird. We're playing Arizona tonight. If I get off work at normal time then we are going all out. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to behave myself somewhat. Paint takes awhile to put on and take off. Right now its looking like I'm gonna be working about three to four hours over my "normal" eight. So we shall see. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE
  7. Four words. Gas and a match.
  8. That is hilarious. I needed a good laugh before bed.
  9. I believe I just might be getting to work late on Friday. We play tommorow night at 7pm PDT. Me thinks there is gonna be a party at my house for this momentous occasion. Heck me and my 3yr old son are gonna go all out. Face paint, battle armor, the whole nine yards. The wife will just have to deal. Go cook me up some Cardinal for the party, or I could substitute chicken. Ain't nothing gonna stop us!!!! The Autumn Wind is a Raider big baby!!! RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE
  10. At the current moment he is. Hopefully that doesn't change. The few times I've seen him play I've been impressed. Word is as long as he stays healthy he will be starting. And you are absolutely right about Bush and McFadden. Those two could and will be awesome together. Kinda get a Ronnie/Carnell thing going on. Dang I can't wait for this season to start. 11. I feel DHB will do well. Look at McFadden everyone was being down on him a few years ago, and he's doing very well now. People need to realize that it takes more than one and sometimes two years before a player in the league reaches his full potential. I think he's gonna have a real good year this year. 12. With father Al running things I'm not suprised one bit. That man is quite eccentric, a bit batty even. And as for Miller leaving. That's what happens when you take your players forgranted and don't take care of what you already got. I would be much happier if he hadn't left. Sometimes I think Al just enjoys doing idiotic things like this. Still its just a minor set back. The Silver and Black will be just fine. Gotta keep the faith. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE
  13. Oh no no no. Don't misconstrue that post. We know we aren't the best right now. We had a five hundred season last year and were celebrating. Heck we went undefeated in our division but flopped in most the rest of our games. The saying amongst the true believers in the Raider Nation is, "You beat us on the field, we'll beat you in the parking lot." RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE BABY!!!!!!!!
  14. Thats easy..... The RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I try to avoid Chinese made products whenever I can. It's not always possible, but when it is ill gladly pay the extra money. A saying in my trade is, "skilled labor ain't cheap. And cheap labor ain't skilled."
  16. Amazing how things can work out like that isnt it. And you are absolutely correct about doing things differently then what the norm is. Thats what ive been doing with my cranks and have been having amazing luck with it.
  17. Happened to me the other day in two different spots. Wound up taking an hour and a half to pick through one of the birdnests, after I got home. I pond fish the majority of the time, and have gotten good at avoiding shoreline hangups. Yet it still happens. Usually when I get over confident in my spot and stop paying as much attention to my surrondings.
  18. They were 1.50 a round when I bought them a few years back.
  19. 5000 rounds 7.62 1500 rounds .50 BMG 3200 rounds .40 6800 rounds 9mm 2000 rounds .308 4000 rounds .45 ACP 12000 rounds .22 LR
  20. Couldnt wait till tommorow. I had to try it today. Both rod and reel were awesome. I love the Zillion rod. It handled the couple three lbers I caught amazingly. The reel was completely amazong as well. After a few minutes of dialing it in, it was throwing my gulp minnows a dang mile. If I could afford another one of these reels id buy it tommorow.
  21. 1st. Alphas Type R on 6'6" MH Zillion, with 8lb fluoro. 2nd. Curado 200e7 on 7'2" Powell Endurance MH, with 30lb Spiderwire fluoro braid. 3rd. Curado 200e7 on 7'7" Powell Endurance MH, with 40lb Sufix 832.
  22. Just got a Alphas Type R paired up with a 6'6" zillion mh, from my favorite outdoors store. I cant wait to try this thing out. I figured I might as well have one high end reel in my arsenal. I cant wait to fish this thing tommorow. Im bout as giddy as a schoolgirl.
  23. That is absolutely hysterical!! I havent laughed that hard in months. I seriously lol'd and snotted beer out my nose.
  24. That is hysterical. Get it with the fish looking up, and cover the whole outside of your bicep with it. The artist can resize the drawing before doing it, so you can see it in any number of sizes you want to. Also DO NOT get drunk before you get it. It will cause the tat to bleed ALOT when its being done. This in turn makes the artist mad, (it makes it harder for him to draw and get the ink in deep enough) and he will gouge the hell outta you with the needle. Ive had both my artist tell me they do this to people.
  25. Homie the Loomis logo would look sick. Plus with fishing, unlike skateboarding (i got the Blind Skateboards reaper on my right shoulder) you can do it for most all your life. I might have to jack your idea for part of my leg.
