  1. Not a bad idea either.
  2. Yuppppp. My favorites are squirrel and coon. I like running them dogs! I'll hunt deer if I get free time. Not as die hard about deer, as I am about squirrel though. Other than that I just enjoy slaughtering the friendly furry forest creatures. They pretty much all taste good. Except opossum and nutria. Those two are just flat out disgusting.
  3. I find that mothballs keep them away. That and my cat. If Mr No Legs is brave enough to cross my ammonia barrier then a 9mm snake shot seems to do the trick. Personally I have no problem with them. They keep the vermin away, and don't bother me. My wife on the other hand is TERRIFIED of them. She dumped an 18 rd clip of snake shot into a garder snake in my grandmoms back yard. Dang thing wasn't even 12in. long.
  4. I like the reel cover idea.
  5. Ain't got musky down here. I could mail you a few if you want them.
  6. If I hadn't just got back I might be envious of you. However, under the circumstances I'm enjoying my home time. I'll probably start yearning for it again come October. Moneys too good to just stay in town. My boss said if I start needing it. He will subcontract me to a welding company for a few months. It benefits both of us. I stay current in my welding and we both make money out of it. Traveling electrical work doesn't pay as well as process pipe welding.
  7. At least your being productive. Too much down time makes it rough. Just gotta stay occupied. Plus the absence of fishing makes it that much better when you get back. If your anything like me. Its fun for the first few weeks. Then starts to get old. Then starts getting to where you just cope as best you can. Then it ends. You enjoy being back home for a while. Then you start longing for the road again, and the cycle repeats. My motives are cash driven though. I start wanting and/or needing money. Thats when i request travel work. I ain't dumb I know how much traveling work pays. For the most part the companies I've worked for are very good about giving me a choice. There are times I am told, but 9 out of 10 times, its either my request or choice.
  8. Yep. I've done it for 8 years now. Just got back from 5 straight months of doing what you are. Taking a break with the non traveling company I work with now. Give it a year and I want to go back out for a bit. I sat around counting my marbles all the time, AKA the stacks of cash i was making. Other ways to cope. Go to the gym. If that's not an option do a prison workout, AKA situps and pushups. You gotta numb your emotions down. Don't think about your family and your home. It only makes it harder. I'll give some more advice in a bit.
  9. Why is the wildlife out to get you Sam? What did you to tick off mother nature?
  10. Order it online. That swill the state stores sell is disgusting. There is a site called absinthe shop. That's where you get the good stuff from. The higher the thujin content the more potent it is. Do not slam it down. Sip on it. Most are in the high to medium hundred proof. Pounding it will give you the worst hangover imaginable.
  11. Best of luck homie. We'll be praying for ya.
  12. She certainly is. Her tally is close to 36 squirrels, 2 coons, 12 opossum, numerous chipmunks, and more lizards then I can count. All of this was her hunting them down in my parents neighborhood. These were her kills. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? In the woods with me she knows she ain't gotta run them down. Dog will tree them all day. Squirrel and coon. She's good at getting the other dogs fired up also.
  13. I'll try it. Can't be no worse than that "kerosene" I've been getting in mason jars and milk jugs. Absinthe was supposed to taste horrid. Its one of my favorite liqours. Been drinking it for 10 years now. The cheaper imported taste better than most the high end ones.
  14. I've thought about that. I don't think they can do pattern or stencil work that way though. Still its not a bad idea. I may look into that.
  15. I like coonhounds. If I had the space I wouldve had two of them.
  16. That's a awesome little dog. Don't know how they would do for squirrel though. Coon they may do pretty good with. Heck if it will tree they would be worth it. The alpha feist I run for squirrel is a dang beast. All she wants to do is hunt. I honestly think its all she dreams about too. I've never seen a dog with the drive and determination she has.
  17. You have no idea. I love kill in me some coons. Them little feist dogs do a good job of it too. As long as you got two or more. Otherwise they are a bit outmatched. Yet will still go for Mr. Ringtail.
  18. I forgot about black bears. Sounds like they can pack some ummph. Before its all said and done I may look into one.
  19. This will most likely be my last bulk for awhile. After this its gonna be maintenance for a good bit. Im gonna agree with you. No point wearing my body out prematurely. Its gonna be tough to do. I swear working out is an addiction.
  20. On Monday I start lifting twice a day, six days a week. Once before work and once in the evening. I lift for an hour before and around 2 after work. Alternating muscle groups. Generally I will alternate days with heavy sets and light sets. The calorie numbers are subject to change depending on the results I'm getting. It all depends on how my body is responding to the exercise, work, and the supplements.
  21. That is a beautiful rifle. Almost makes me want a muzzle loader. Not sure I would go after a bear with it. I think once I get the opportunity to hunt Mr. Bear I'm taking my .338 or .50BMG. Ain't real keen on fuzzy wuzzy possibly getting up.
  22. Never got bullied homie. Nice try though. I just don't care for your caustic sarcastic remarks. All I did was ask you a couple questions. Yep, I certainly was integral to it. Got a scholarship out of it too. Must be the getting bullied that did it. Oh wait. I've never had that issue. Funny how that revolving door never started turning for me. Anyway, the **** is your deal? How are you just gonna bust up in a thread and start talking that **** to people? The man said he helped his team to succeed, later in there careers, and you gotta pop off at the mouth. About how he must need to feel publicly acknowledged for his accomplishment. Ain't no call for that ****. If you don't like what the man said then call him out. Don't be a sarcastic little *****.
  23. Nope not rabid. Just doing its thing. I'd be more than happy to help rid you of the coon. Have dogs and rifle. Will travel.
  24. Soon as they fix the issues with the bolt closing. I just read that the reason for recall was, firing before the bolt is closed. Once they fix that issue I will be all over it. Heck, send me one when you win the lotto.
  25. Well I'll be. I honestly never even thought to look for one.
