  1. Has anyone been using a paddletail as a jig trailer (i.e. *.com) and does that more closely approach the trophy results of "real" swimbaits? I am just hesitant to throw an open hook "real" swimbait in the wooded lakes of east Texas.
  2. As to being LH'd - I learned on my dad's RH epuipment which Kent I didn't have to change hands to begin reeling. Of course this was before people started realizing it was actually advantageous not to switch hands...
  3. GE brand "bread knife" - will accept the Pirannah blades. Can be found at Walmart... Has held up cleaning redfish Hope that helps.
  4. My first post but I'll throw my opinion out there. Dobyns Savy series 735. I just picked one up for $170 - great rod for the money and should work for what you are looking to do. Best part is find a dealer and fish it for a week and then make a decision. Also Cabelas seems to be working a poliy where you can return any rod with reciept in the first 60 days no questions asked. I like to actually fish a rod before buying just my .02
