  1. I use H20 hooks because they are cheap. Lose maybe 1 out of every 15 bites if that. I wait one second and then give it a good strong side sweeping hook set and that works really well for me. If pitching reeds or grass I watch the line more than feel it. When the line starts to move then still a side sweeping hook set but much harder. Clancy W

Alumbaugh Top 50 LMB. Many think that the state record will be broken this year. Clancy W
  8. First place yesterday was a 35lb stringer weighed in by Chad Prough. 52 anglers brought 20lb sacks to the scales. And from the updates iv read so far today, looks like there will be more 20lb sacks brought in today. Should be a very close. I would be willing to bet that it will take almost 40lbs to make the cut. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/flw-okeechobee-11.html If you make an account, or if you already have one, then you can watch the weigh in live at 3:00pm ET. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/flwlive.cfm?type=bass Clancy W
  9. Seems like its more of what people are confidant with other than what works best. Clancy W
  10. Looking at the spro dawgs I might get one of those. Which color would you suggest? Clancy W
  11. Thats what I was thinking, are you pretty much paying for a name? I've had great success with Pop-R's. Clancy W
  12. Not a true sammy, knock off brands yes, but never a LC. Clancy W
  13. I'm looking at getting a new TW bait. I'v pretty much narrowed it down to a LC Sammy or a Yellow Magic popper. Any experience with these baits? Thanks, Clancy W
  14. Ok guys, password is "bass". Clancy W
  15. I went ahead and made one, search "Bass Resource". If there is allready one I will deleat it, but didn't see one. Clancy W
  16. Yeah I definitely got excited that morning when I looked outside. It was cold & misty but it kept the other boaters off the water. At one point the visibility went down to about 20 ft when I was running the boat across the lake. I got turned around for a second out on the big water & didn't exactly know where I was. Weird feeling. Never had that happen before, especially on a lake that I know so well. Fog can be pretty bad. Was on Bastrop(powerplant lake) and fog was so bad you could barly see past the TM, needless to say we got turned around pretty bad. Clancy W

  18. If you use the same line on all of them then yes. Even if you don't, it will save you in the long run. Clancy W
  19. Yes these are good points, I wonder what the answers will be. Clancy W
  20. Going to be really hard for Texas, a 5lb LMB is only 27 points. I guess thats because state record is 18.18lbs. Clancy W
  21. Im in. Going go go hunting for a 10#+ when this starts up. Clancy W
  22. Would not suprise me to see it come out of any number of lakes. Clancy W
  23. I also use braid on my dock rod which doubles as a shakey head rod, I use 20lb spider wire on that combo. I have a cabelas MH rod with a pinnicale reel that has 30lb spider wire that I use as one of my everything rods. For my flipping/frog rod I got 65lb power pro on a quantum burst. Clancy W
  24. Sounds good to me. I like the idea of dividing it up by age. Clancy W
