  1. I think you need to have a 7' MH/F in that line-up, the most often used rod I have. I have, and carry, 6 in that length/action. lol
  2. I throw 3/4 ounce football head jigs with my ML 6'6" St. Croix Premier spinning rod. That ain't gonna happen with a noodle rod.
  3. I've got the Wave Away stuff. Does a fantastic job.
  4. I use specialty sprays. It's a very small investment compared to the cost of the graphs. I think the bottle with a cleaning cloth was $12 to $14 and I will get several years out of it.
  5. You can catch great fish out of a canoe and compete with any kind of boat doing so, but you specifically mentioned BFL which is basically a step up from a small club type setting and generally means larger waters for at least some, if not all of the tournaments. Safety would be the biggest concern. Know the limitations of your boat.
  6. For the last couple years about 80% of what I use I make myself, so I am pretty partially to that brand. lol I still buy crankbaits/jerkbaits/hard swimbaits and have settled on Strike King for the most part. Spro frogs, Super Spooks and Zell Pops fill the topwater box. About the only plastics I still buy are BPS Tender Tubes.
  7. Don't even think about it Brad, I'm not wearing the wig. lol
  8. I was able to find a picture of the farmer's crankbait storage container. I believe it is only one bait per compartment though. However, this container can also double as storage for a wide variety of his baits and rigs as well. Here is said container.
  9. I replace when it breaks in half or when it ends up 100 feet up on shore.
  10. Same thing with maple syrup. For every dozen jugs/bottles I give away I might see two empty jugs/bottles back. I generally just plan on buying all new containers every year.
  11. I have four or five 6'6" Premier ML's. I have used them for everything from skipping docks, to 1/16 ounce finesse fishing, to 3/4 ounce football heads. A very versatile rod for me. I have never owned a 6'6" M so I can't compare.
  12. I was tossing different waters around but once I saw your choice I knew that was mine also. I remember a calm sunny hot summer day years ago there when the whole valley the bay is in was a complete blue haze from the 2 cycle exhaust, and you could just taste it in your mouth. John and I have had the discussion before how bass even survive in that place without being washed up onto the bank at a young age. lol We always pray for crappy weather there for a tournament to keep the crowds at a manageable level.
  13. I remember 10+ years ago we had a tournament on the first Saturday of May and we were glued to the Ice Boom Cam (back when there was an Ice Boom Cam) and the ice finally cleared out just two days before the tournament. Erie is weird because it holds its ice forever. It all breaks up OK, but just gets pushed against this end of the lake and is very slow to melt and/or go down the river. I think the ice was thicker out there this year than it was that year too. The lake has to reach a certain % of ice cover before they remove the boom. 20% sticks in my head for some reason, but maybe it is less. The lake will warm up good once the ice is gone. One advantage of a shallow lake. The spawn will likely be a little later, but it normally runs into the normal opening anyway.
  14. http://www.oringsandmore.com/nsf-b70-orings-size-010-price-for-100-pcs/ A couple years ago I bought 600 there and with the shipping it was still less than $15 I was concerned at first about the hook being parallel to the bait. After a few good fish that concern goes away. I have several wacky tools stashed around the boat now, and if that is what the flavor of the day is, I keep it right in my pocket. "Is that a wacky tool in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" lol
  15. I had the cheapest set of Frogg Toggs and from day one they barely kept me dry in a heavy fog. They were a gift, so I wasn't out anything. I know there are different grades of FT's and can only assume the better ones are..............well..........better. I have had a set of Cabela's Dry Plus rain gear serve me well for over a dozen years, but just this past fall I got some Guidewear that was on sale to replace those.
  16. Definitely need to rotate crops around. My routine for building the soil revolves around my potato crop, which gets moved around from year to year. After I hill the rows when the plants are a foot or so tall, I fill the troughs created with all of the compost made the previous year then cover the whole works with leaves I raked up from the previous fall and had stored in a bin. The leaves basically prevents any seeds in the compost from growing. By fall that is all matted down pretty good and keeps the potatoes nice until I dig them up. Once dug up, the whole mess gets tilled in and the process begins at a different location the next year. I had a very nice potato crop last year, and still have a bunch in cold storage.
  17. We can our own tomato soup concentrate. Have not eaten store bought tomato soup since.
  18. Been gardening for a very long time, about 30 years or so. I like to grow milk, satellite dishes and electrical conduit. lol
  19. It's cool to still see some Lasers out there. That is the first bass boat I fished out of, as my dad had a mid's 80's Laser for a dozen or more years before he got his Skeeter. Very sleek and lightweight boat for its time. I logged A LOT of time on kneeboards and slalom skis behind it as well.
  20. How about a lengendary 90's funk metal bass playing doing a country/bluegrass rendition of a classic disco tune. It don't get any weirder than that!! lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axm0-t01_KM
  21. I have been a fan of Stiff Dead Cat for years. They are classified as Porch Punk. Unfortunately, there is not much on YouTube for them. .
  22. I stick with one brand for no real specific reason.
