  1. I don't know, can you?
  2. Tie a crank on one of your other rods and try it. Either you will.................. a. Like it b. Not like it Pretend you are living in a time long long ago when techniques were not printed on the rods. lol Personally, I would lean towards the 7' jig rod.
  3. I have broke two since around 1991. First was a Team Daiwa flippin' stick that got caught under a rope cleat on a boat. When I picked it up I heard a slight crunch and setting the hook on the very next fish snapped it in two. The second one was a 7' medium heavy that a rod locker door came down on. I did have another one break by my step father. He wasn't using it, he was resting on it as he was power heaving over the side of the boat while fishing in a heavy chop on Lake Erie. lol
  4. Doesn't anyone drag a dropshot? I would think this would be a perfect presentation out of a kayak.
  5. I like greens and variations of greens. Never tried black/blue and can't catch a cold with white, and I have tried a bunch in all sorts of conditions
  6. Never understood the concept of cabin fever. Always plenty to do.
  7. From what I see, I don't believe those weights to be accurate.
  8. I had an Apple since about 1983, not likely to change now.
  9. I don't think you can be fully effective with only one type of line for crankbaits. lol
  10. I have always used #4's on front and back.
  11. I'd be dragging a tube. Bring lots.
  12. You can eat a dog turd, but that doesn't mean you should.
  13. When are you losing them? The first time they break the surface?
  14. 7'MH with 17lb flouro. And I don't know if you are fishing largemouth or smallmouth, but when fishing for smallmouth with a spoon I like to hit them several times after the initial hookset. Smallies have tendency to clamp down on a spoon pretty good and that first hookset sometimes doesn't move the spoon in their mouth. Can't tell you how many fish I have put in the net that never had a hook in them, just clamped on the spoon.
  15. The one that isn't working.
  16. I did all those calculations a couple years ago when my son and I were building his pinewood derby car, and we (I) poured lead into it to get it up to weight. lol
  17. By all means, sell the gear, make the $100 or so, and live happily ever after.
  18. I'm glad you said it, because that's exactly what I was going to say. You still have to work together even though you are fishing against each other. I am the first to grab a net when the other guy has a fish on, but generally I prefer to net my own fish. If your partner is killing them on a certain bait/color and he offers one, by all means accept that offer. I wouldn't ask though.
  19. During the cold water period I have been switching back and forth between a bladebait and a 3/4 ounce football head with a 5" hula grub on it. I work them exactly the same way, just a slight lift and drop all the way back to the boat after a medium to long cast. Still do better on the blade, but some decent ones have come on the jig also. I have not really deciphered under what conditions each works best, or if it even mattered which one I was using at the time. Jigging spoons are a whole different animal. Those produce best for me when I fish it vertically and violently swing the rod up 6 to 8 feet and let it flutter down. It's almost like a hookset every time you swing up, and it really wears you out after several hours of doing it. There were many tournaments on Lake Erie when I would do that for 8 hours straight. Not sure I could any more. lol I fish all three on the same rig though, a 7'MH fast with 17 pound flouro.
  20. Sounds to me you need another expensive hobby. lol
  21. I have a fuse block for everything electrical in my boat. When a fuse blows for a pump, the lighted switch for the pump still lights up. I would have thought the fuse would be before the switch, but apparently it is not. But, even if it is just a fuse, you still may be having problems of some kind. Something caused it to blow. Most of the time for me it is crap in the impeller, or the motor wearing out to the point it is drawing too much juice to operate.
  22. I don't dare guess, Bill. I know just my own pictures makes them look much bigger or much smaller than the actual weight depending on how the shot turned out.
  23. So glad to hear forward progress is still being made. Kudos to all you guys making the business side less worrisome for the family.
  24. I would never buy a Ranger at a BPS for the exact same reason I would never buy a John Deere lawn tractor at a Home Depot. It is not going to be the same animal.
