  1. Thanks Fanatic. I appreciate the tips. I play around with a small slab spoon and seen how easy it is to free after it hangs up. Everything will bite that thing!
  2. Do any of you use flutter spoons? If so, can you offer advice? I just placed an order and plan on experimenting next trip.
  3. Nice fish! I'm envious.
  4. Heading up tomorrow afternoon for a week. I'm ready to get back up there & de stress!
  5. How much did the lake come up?
  6. Bryan, I gotcha now. I remember them working on his sea wall. You basically look at the boat lane going to north Toledo state park.
  7. Will do podna. I come thru zwolle but get gas at j&j's. Bryan, you must be by a friend of mine. He has the tan camp that had the porch ripped off just over a month ago. That intersection mentioned, I fish around there often. White bass cat w/ yellow bolt & purple & gold flames on the cowling. Stop and say hi if you ever see me.
  8. Bryan, you must be by me. I'm in the first little cove north of where 1215 hits the water. I work 14/14 & up there every time I'm off.
  9. Bryan, you must be by me. I'm in the first little cove north of where 1215 hits the water. I work 14/14 & up there every time I'm off.
  10. They are still eating the fluke for me. Shallow & I see them eat it!
  11. We caught 6 keepers & 15--18 total. Most on flukes but a couple on the rogue.
  12. I'm supposed to head up to the camp tomorrow. I should be there almost a week.
  13. Looking very good Shaneus.
  14. Nice trip. It had to be a blast with your son!
  15. I guess I shouldn't say "that blows". I would've stayed in the camp & not chanced it.
  16. Way to go Catt. Sounds like a fun time. I know what you mean by full contact sport. I have the bruises to prove it!!
  17. A brown/gold/orange rogue worked for a while today for me. 5.5 lb'er was the best. Later they ate an Arkansas shiner fluke.
  18. Another fun fluke afternoon. Biggest 4.5 but lost one bigger than that one.
  19. Had a blast at the mouth of San Miguel. So shallow I'd have to lift my trolling motor to reposition. Caught around 30 with 11 keepers. Flukes worked quickly. Biggest was maybe 3.5.
  20. Freshorsalt, we're headed to the camp Saturday - Friday. I'll be in a white basscat, yellow bolt, & purple trim. If you see me stop & say hi. I may be in 1 or 2 of those lanann coves also.
  21. Around north Toledo state park including the big cove near the boat ramp holds fish. I caught a fat 5.5 in there 2 weeks ago. Around the island at the mouth of San Miguel & headed north from there on the main lake side in that shallow grass usually holds some fish, depending on how hard they've been pounded.
  22. I've had a lot of success with black/red baby brush hogs when sight fishing. When that dark lure is on that white bed then disappears it's hook setting time. Or dead stick a fluke. That sometimes works better.
  23. You're welcome. I fished out of my kayak when the lake was @ 159'. Had a blast on a couple humps not far from the camp.
  24. Get her a kayak or stand up paddle board if she enjoys that. A stealthy way to photograph wildlife. My better half spends a lot of time in hers in San Miguel.
  25. It's gotten quiet up in here!!
