  1. Thanks Bryan. I was wondering about that area. It'll be another week or 2 before I get back to the camp.
  2. I had some luck between squalls last weekend in the San Miguel area. Carolina rigged grande bass 4.5" rattlesnake on a few humps. 12-15' on top of one dropping to 25' and 18-19' on another dropping to 25'. Nothing big, but bruises to prove it was fun! Caught a couple on a 6XD sexy shad also.
  3. I'm on San Miguel in the first cove north if where 1215 hits the water.
  4. My report is good & bad. Friday I spent in my little cove. Caught 4 on cane thumper swim bait. Biggest 5.25. Saturday went to a little cove not far from mine. I caught 7 pitching brush all on beavers. Best 5 went 20-21 lbs. Sunday went to the back of San Miguel. I caught 3 on crankbaits. Lost one on a fluke. Monday went to clear creek. Caught 1 on a beaver, 6.5 lbs & a knot head on a cane thumper. Monday afternoon went to the cove by the camp. Caught 4 on beavers & missed 3 others I've never seen the lake this high since we've had the camp. Totally new fishing for me, not to mention the off colored water. I'll be back Monday for the week.
  5. Very nice fish!
  6. Bugzx250 I may be around Blue Lake Tuesday, probably by myself. Say hi if you see me. White basscat, yellow bolt & yellow/purple flames on cowling.
  7. Good luck Grangerland!
  8. Darn. I'd have thought you wore them out. My TB neighbor and his wife caught gaspergoo in his white perch brush and 3 bass shallow. This wife lost a 3.5 that danced at the boat. Said the water was still dirty in San Miguel. I'm headed up Tuesday night thru the weekend.
  9. Ok Bss Fanatic let's hear it!!
  10. Yeah, and I'm offshore, but crew changing Wednesday. I'll probably get up there after it cools off. My luck! Good luck guys!
  11. I'll be offshore. I already had my vacation scheduled for 4/8
  12. I agree Catt, but I usually question my choices down there since I seldom trailer south. I guess I just need to go explore sometime.
  13. I just got back offshore. It'll be at least 2 weeks til I get back up. Last trip up for me was tough. San Miguel turned to mud & water temp was 47 deg. Caught 1 Tuesday (1 1/2 weeks ago) on a jig & missed 2. Scratched Wednesday afternoon in 20+ mph winds post frontal, & caught 2 Thursday afternoon in 23 fow, jig & black brush hog Carolina rigged. That's the first time I've had ice on my reel's line guide!
  14. Happy New Year everyone! May you all catch a personal best this year.
  15. After that early flurry, my mind would wander and I'd probably miss the other bites. Or I'd be back at the camp eating lunch!
  16. It'll be after 1/4/15 before I can get back up there. I'm offshore now & get back in 12/31. Last week the water temp was 56-57 degrees in San Miguel and also near clear creek.
  17. Ha ha. Gotcha!
  18. Hopefully it'll be on my days off. If so, I'll be there.
  19. Catt, what do you mean by the road time question?
  20. Only fished for a couple hours this afternoon closer to the camp. Missed a couple on the Carolina rig but caught 2 monsters on a 10xd. The first was over 8 & the other was just over 7. Definitely an adrenaline rush! The pics are too big to post.
  21. Caught 19 bass from noon til 5 pm yesterday. 1 on a 6xd sexy shad, 3 on a chatter bait and the rest on a Carolina rig trick worm, fishing a shelf/drop off into 25'. Biggest was 3.5.
  22. Thanks Josh & Brian. I guess the wind will dictate where I fish. I keep saying I will trailer down south, but if conditions are tough I will spend a lot of time second guessing my decision. If anyone is up there mid week keep an eye out for me.
  23. I didn't make it to the bend due to getting fogged in offshore. Headed up Monday night off a few days. I guess I'll have to bundle up and fish slow. Any recommendations?
