  1. Thats awesome - thanks everyone who has dropped some info in the forum for me. I'm just setting up a few emails now and I'm sure I'll get something sorted. Someone asked the question 'what kind of Bass was in the pic I attached to this forum'. Thats an Australian Bass.. In our Bass fishing a 50cm (fork length) Bass is a Trophy fish.... The Bass in the pic is 42cm and my best is 50.5cm. It took me nearly 30 years to break the 50cm milestone.. If you like catching explosive fish the other species I love to target in Northern Australia is a Barramundi.... There are two real milestones for wild river Barra. 1 metre plus (100cm)... and 50lb plus. The first pic below is an 80cm Barra and the second my Metery! I caught her in May this year on the South Alligator River in the Northern Territory of Australia... She is 101cm and 28lbs. I'm still chasing the 50 pounder! You target Barra much like Bass casting, trolling or using fly gear. They are a like Bass but bigger! Awesome sportfish! Thanks again and tight lines Craig
  2. Afternoon (well it is here in Victoria Australia). I'm an avid Bass fisherman in Oz... here we chase Australian Bass (Macquaria novemaculeata). Pic attached of Bass from the Clarence River in Northern NSW, Australia. Also a pic of the country she came from! She's an awesome sportfish we catch in beautiful country. I'm visiting the US in a few weeks and I'd love to catch a Bass (Small or Large Mouth) over there to tick it off my species list. I'm in Vegas for a week and I don't think I'll have any time to fish whilst there. However I'm heading to San Francisco and on the 9th/10th November I'm going to drive to Reno from San Fran.. I'm hoping on these dates Í might be able to detour and find a way to catch myself a Bass! I probably need to engage a guide as I won't have any gear with me (other than any shopping I do whilst there - Aussie dollar is on par with USD at the moment so that gives me a great excuse to stock up on a few things). Can anyone point me in the right direction? Where would I go to fish and where would I find some contact info for local guides? Appreciate any info you can proivide... If anyone is thinking of a trip to Oz and wants to catch a Bass please don't hesitate to drop me a line and I can point you in the right direction... Tight lines. Craig
