  1. Tie them as needed. Knots that sit tied up weaken. It's a hassle, but it's better than breaking off a big fish to try to save a couple minutes.
  2. There's a point on the power plant lake I fish that for some reason, I can't keep fish hooked there. Last time I was there a couple weeks ago was no exception. I hooked a half dozen fish on a Ned rig, and they'd just pop off for some reason. I lost a monster on a lipless there a few years ago, only bite I had all day that day.
  3. I left an hour early twice last week. Nothing going on and I was tired of sitting at work. Unfortunately, all our lakes are frozen that are close enough to fish for a short trip, so I left just to go home.
  4. Man that's a football, beats our state record by a few ounces ? I should go through my tournaments this year and figure what percentage of my fish submitted this year were on a Ned, I'd be it's over 25%.
  5. I'm gonna hurt some feelings, my best big fish bait of the year was a Ned rig. I've caught big fish, and some bigger ones, on a lot of baits, but Ned has been the most consistent throughout the year by far.
  6. I don't mind outdoor cats, indoor cats gross me out though. Never had a cat be as excited to see me as my dogs are every time I come home.
  7. MY BIL is a Broncos fan. He was insufferable when they had Manning and won the Super Bowl, so I'm really enjoying this hole they're digging ?
  8. I've got one of the Flamingo Spro frogs as well as their Halloween color, they get bit.
  9. Great baits, a must have in my jerkbait box. There's just times when a slow sinking bait will greatly outproduce a suspending bait and they're a very consistent bait right out of the box. I've got several of the 112's and 112+1's.
  10. Saturday looks good here, so does Sunday. For sure going Saturday, might try to make it out both days though.
  11. I really like the area around Bull Shoals. Very pretty and not as populated as the other area lakes. All kinds of fish in the lake and world class trout fishing below the lake. Many other lakes within a reasonable drive also.
  12. They make a deep running shad and MR Rozante shad. I've fished them as well. I use them more like a suspending shad rap with a pull and pause retrieve. I liked the bigger shad better which is no longer available. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Duo_Realis_Rozante_Shad_63_MR_Jerkbait/descpage-DRRJ.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Duo_Realis_Shad_59MR_Crankbait/descpage-DUOSHAD.html This is the bigger shad that I've had really good luck with. Still some floating around. https://duo-international.com/products/realis-shad-62dr/
  13. I gave the Baby Bull Shads away to the kids that I boat captain for. They both liked fishing the Bull Shads I have so I figured they'd like to have their own, even though they're not as good as the resign Bull Shads.
  14. The KO's are hit or miss. I've had some really good ones, and some really bad ones. I only fish a couple colors anyways so I went back to ordering the originals. I bet I have 2 dozen of them at least, with another dozen NIP in my garage. I was already a big believer in them before this, but this really solidified my love for the bait.
  15. I kept very few. I know a few that I kept were a pre Rapala chug bug, 75 choppo, 120 choppo, rock crawler, DT8, #5 Rapala original floater, and a 6th Sense Crush 100 crankbait.
  16. I use Fish Monkey Half Fingered Wooly gloves. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Fish_Monkey_Wooly_Half_Fingered_Gloves/descpage-FMWHFG.html What I really want to see though, is a company that makes a set of gloves that is half fingers on the thumbs and index fingers, but full fingers on the rest. I don't need my middle/ring/pinky exposed, so cover those up, but I don't like full fingered gloves, so leave just the 2 fingertips I need exposed. Those would be the ideal gloves. I found a cheap pair like that but they were very thin and my hands still got cold when it was in the 20's or colder.
  17. I can't imagine there's many trees to tie to in the middle of the lakes A-Jay fishes. Spotlocked, maybe, tied to a tree, doubtful.
  18. They only make one version of the Rozante to my knowledge. 2 sizes, but haven't ever heard of anything other than the 63 and 77sp.
  19. My love and singing the praises of that bait is probably why several members on here are also believers in it. Nothing about it has a dull action. It's a very lively bait with a lot of darting action and a loud single knocker.
  20. I fish them like a regular jerkbait but they work just fine with a pull and stop retrieve also. They really are amazing little baits.
  21. Below 0 for a high today, ice and blowing snow, wind chills to -30. Already had one patrol car get rear-ended bad, we're not even going out unless we have to now.
  22. Duo Realis Rozante 77sp Megabass Nanahan
  23. I don't do many forums because I don't enjoy arguing with people just because they disagreed with the opinion or experience I shared, which is kind of one of the main points of a forum. I read a few others, but rarely participate. This has been the only one that I felt was actually ran in a way that allowed people to participate in conversation and debate without having to worry about someone berating them or getting in a peeing match.
  24. I'm sure they would, but not sure why you'd want to? So many easier options available.
  25. I've got both and they both have their advantages. If it wasn't for my family occasionally wanting to go, I'd sell my boat and keep the kayak.
