I bought some 1/16 and 1/8 bullet weights to fish in front of them. The grass is mostly milfoil that tops out 2-5 feet deep. Wanted the light weight to keep them from crashing down into the grass but just enough to keep it down when I move them.

Unless there's a good mudline you're fishing, I wouldn't bother fishing a lot of offshore areas in muddy water. I don't fish many places with current, so maybe it's different, but muddy water anywhere I fish means fish will be shallower and tight to cover. I don't use the double willows for fishing deeper, unless it's something like a Screaming Eagle. The single willow leaf will provide less lift and thumps just a little bit more, makes it a better option for deeper water imo. The big single Colorado Booyah Coverts stay down really well, if you can keep yourself reeling slow enough, they'll stay down in the deep water. I just picked up a 3/4oz last night in preparation for big spinnerbait season that's about to start here.

There's a couple places around the KC area that have great Italian food with long family histories. Garozzo's and Cascone's are my favorites. The lasagna, spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, eggplant parmesan, alfredo, it's all so good I about have to roll myself out to the car when we go.

So many factors weigh into which one will run deeper. If you're really worried about the bait rising, use an Indiana or even big willowleaf blade instead. It won't have as much thump, but bass will still be able to find it.

I just bought some speed worms last night. It's something I've never really done but there's a couple lakes I fish that have offshore grass and it seems like they are supposed to be the deal for picking stubborn fish out of the grass.

Yes, they're a good jighead for a lot of uses.

They've been in the rivers here for a couple decades, but they've never gone nuts like they have in other places. Native fish are still available in the river in good numbers. Big catfish have come to prefer them as a food source, so have the gar. Lots of common carp, buffalo, drum, suckers, white bass and wipers, sturgeon, and various other species still here. There are plenty of silvers and bigheads, but they haven't taken over like they were supposed to.

Any white bass or white perch in the area? They're usually pretty catchable in icy water.

That one will work but you can get the one with the wire keeper with multiple sizes also. I had that one but the lead collar rarely came out right. 1 each of 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16 & 1/4 Model number is MFJ-6-A

It has a wild hunting action, doesn't dive very deep, a good bait for fishing over grass and around shallow cover.

I've helped lots of people who seemed deserving of help. Parents with kids, beginners that were struggling, people who really seemed to want to learn and appreciated help. I've not been so helpful to those that see me catch a fish and then start badgering for information.

Any of them would be an amazing fish to catch and hold. I would probably take the largemouth if I had to choose, just for sheer size. It's hard to fathom a bass as big as some of the flatheads I catch. I don't know that I could turn it in for a record though. The turmoil that fish would cause in your life just really doesn't seem worth it IMO.

Anywhere you can hop them through grass has been my best areas.

Maybe if I'd held onto all the baits I've found for the last couple decades.

I started my day off well Sunday, catching a 16" 3.13lber on a homemade big ugly spinnerbait (BUS for short). I had to move lakes due to the wind and found my boat trailer wouldn't make it down the ramp, so I drove the dink train down the bank.

I caught a 24.5" several years ago, but unfortunately she was skinny and only 7.51lbs.

A 26" bass would be close to our state record most likely, it's not quite 12lbs. Biggest I've ever put on my board was 22".

I use to Paypal a friend that lived by a store and he'd ship my order. Now I have 4 or 5 stores within a reasonable drive so I don't have to anymore.

6 in a pack, had to try them. Good colors that look like the good quality baits, worth a shot.

Anyone had a chance to try them yet? I bought a pack of the 3.8" fat swimbaits. For $3.99 I figured I wouldn't be out much but they had several bait styles that looked really nice and the prices were right.

Swinging football head, T-rig, and shakyhead are my favorites but I also have the magnum midwest finesse mold on the way to my house pretty much with baby brush hogs in mind.

I pour some swinging football heads pretty much just for fishing with 7" stickworms. It's an 1/8oz head with a 7/0 Magworm hook. It has kind of a gliding/darting action on the fall and rarely hangs up when drug across the bottom. One of my favorite power finesse baits in the summer.

Jerkbaits, flatsides, spinnerbaits, and lipless. A-rigs were basically not allowed here until this year (only 2 hooks allowed). Sapphire blue is one of my favorite colors. It's especially deadly in the summer when the water gets a greenish tint to it. I make a sapphire blue bladed jig that is deadly on our bass.

No grass in most of the lakes I fish them with. I like to grind them through rocks and across points. Not sure how many I have, over 50 for sure. I probably only have 10 that I regularly use though.

There's a big pond behind my work that has some really nice bass and crappie in it. I use to fish it all the time but because some of our "clients", can see the pond out their windows, they started showing up to the pond and trashing the place, which got it closed down to fishing. The pond isn't owned by my employer, so not anything I can really do about it but wish I could still fish that pond.
