  1. Topwater basmasters are looking for new members, both boaters and non boaters. we fish 12-15 club tourneys a year plus 4 region tourneys. Some of the waters we fish are the potomac, gaston, kerr(buggs island), nottoway river, and other north carolina rivers. we are a small club based on friendship and sharing of information. anyone interested please e mail me at reb_dave@yahoo.com.
  2. ;D lol you might be a bass fishermen if!!! my partner and i do this in his pool all the time! run cranks, spinnerbaits to see who has better flash, fall rate of jigs. who knew a pool could be so usefull!!!
  3. here's my 2 cents worth! it seems that years ago customer service was MUCH!!! better than today. i remember the first time i ordered something out of the catalog(btw today i get more bps catalogs than i'll ever need/use) was about 15 years ago. I got a phone call confirming my order! got my whole order complete together a few days later. this was standard practice for every order i placed. remember one time they called me to inform me something i ordered was out of stock, and apologized about it. they adusted my bill, few weeks later sent me my backorder for free! (nothing real expensive few bags of lizards as i recall) but my point is this. back then it was a "small" business per say. seems customer service starting going by the way side when they started opening a BPS in every major city across america. now that you got me going! know what else a can't stand about BPS, i usually shop there in the evenings, work during the day like most people. it seems the bps close to me is staffed by mostly kids at night. these kids are a pain in the a_ _ !!!!!! always walking up and giving their "expert "opinion about what i should or should'nt buy. not "can i help you "or "are you looking for something that i can find for you" or some kind of prefessional contact. it's "don't buy that color it sucks ive never caught anything on that go use this " or statements to that effect. one time i went to buy a new baitcasting reel(quantum pt). i told the kid what i wanted, his response was "no can't do it" i said excuse me he said "can't let you buy that reel, it's a piece of garbage" "you should look at these instead" (daiwa) i was shocked! was he joking around ??? i don't know. BUT I DO KNOW I DID NOT ASK FOR HIS OPINION! i looked at his name and when i checked out requested to speak to a manager. that took almost 30 minutes. then theres the "sales" catalog sales you can't get in the store, the stuff in the flyer they mailed you is'nt really what is on sale. or my favorite the internet bargains. bandit crankbaits 1.99 yea one color i've never heard of or used! don't get my wrong, do i still shop there, yes because it's easy! they have everything i need under one roof! no running all over town, first to dick's then local bait shop, walmart , on and on. it's just shame that some where greed overcame customer service. ok rant done.
  4. another bandit fan here too!!! footloose to 300, do have a few flat maxx, had mixed success with them. favorite colors are blue/chartruse, tenn shad, crawdad. bought a color called 'mad cow" last year, kinda looks like a crappie, lol, but haven't caught anything on it! friend of mine fishs nothing but luckycraft, and most days i've matched him fish for fish. if you're frugal(nice word for cheap) like me, bandit makes a quality crankbait at a reasonable price. and yes i change out the hooks too, put on mustad triple grip or gami wide gaps.
  5. I guess i got to go with the majority, c-rigging and drop shotting.
  6. Hey guys! all the kidding aside the BEST thing you can do is report their law breaking activities to the proper authorities! I have had numorous run in's with these wacko's and NOTHING would please them more than a fishermen to lose his temper and assualt one of them, they would use that publicity to the end!!! I live in norfolk va. (peta world hq) and i see these nut jobs every day protesting KFC, local tackle shops, and trying to get their faces and views on tv. their views border on the extreme and there is no reasoning with them! they live to have some one lose their temper to prove "their point" what can you do to stop them? like i said if harassed by them call the authorities(police, game warden etc, etc) also write your local elected officials to ensure your state has a hunter/fishermen rights clause or bill. if you have kids monitor the information they recieve at school! if your child's school allows PETA to go in and give lectures, challenge this!! just my 2 cents guys
