  1. Went out Saturday morning and caught about 10. Largest being 3lb 12oz and many in the 2lb range. Senkos and bladed baits around cover was what I caught them off of. I launch of out BRM and it was PACKED when I got back to the ramp to go home. Many double parked making it difficult to back the trailer to load the boat. BRM seems to be growing with more pass holders and non-pass holders. If you launch from BRM, please lock the gate on your way in and out. We pay for the key so lets keep only ones that paid have access to it. I don't know how many people I ran into leaving the place and locking the gate, then a non-key holder shows up asking to unlock it. I just leave and tell them it ain't free to come here.
  2. I'll be headed out of Bull Run Saturday Morning with a buddy. Got a new (to me) boat this year. Come say Hi if you see me.
  3. The biggest thing you need to do is remove unwanted weight and move weight toward the center. Does it take long to get the boat on plane? A bunch of other things to consider.. 1. Trim angle 2. Cavitation plate height with bottom of hull 3. RPM at WOT 4. Prop selection I have a similar setup that I just picked up. 15' boat with a 9.9hp outboard and does 13mph solo but the cavitation plate is too low and will be adding in a jackplate this weekend which would help a bit.
  4. Haven't posted in a long time. Got a new to me boat a few weeks ago and got to take it out Sunday. Launched out of bull run and fished after the splits and only managed 3 dinks. Water was choco-milk at Bull Run and slowly cleared up after the splits. Will try to fish again Saturday morning if I have time and try to see where they are at.
  5. Anyone going out this weekend?
  6. Went Saturday morning. Was having a difficult time fishing fish and getting bit. Was getting afraid of getting a skunk on the boat this year and caught two from the grass on brush hogs. Water temps up 10degrees from previous week (85). Didnt get a chance to head south into some deep water. Hopefully next week will change for me.
  7. Planned on heading out this morning but had too many things to do. Will try to make it out in the morning for a couple hours.
  8. Took a buddy that just got into Bass Fishing on Saturday morning. Launched from Bull Run Marina and water was chocolate milk and up from the recent storms. A lot of people head down past the splits to get into clearer water. I fish my usual spots that hold fish in the morning and just change my baits accordingly. The way I see it is, the water is up and fish will move shallower to eat. Water temp was 71* and covered water with chart/white spinnerbait. After a few casts caught a 4.5-5lb that gave a nice fight. Continued covering 2-5ft of water and caught a handful. Moved further down toward the splits and fish were hugging cover. Creature baits produced strikes on the fall many times. Marked a TON of bait balls toward the bottom, but no fish with it. My buddy only caught a dink since most of the time he was catching leaves from trees. lol. He was happy he didn't get a goose egg. Never a bad day on the rez.
  9. water is down 1-2ft. Caught a couple in the morning in flats. pods of bait everywhere. One of them was choking on a gizzard shad and belly was so full it looked like it was about to pop. Caught a couple more and went home. dink fest for me today.
  10. heading out tomorrow morning to explore some new spots. Think im gonna head south. Ill be in my light blue john boat with a suzuki outboard. feel free to say hi if you see me.
  11. ive used snap swivels on some of my rods but discovered the bill norman speed clips and have switched. I can't count the number of times the snap opened on big fish.
  12. g2 slider with rubber coating. I previously had a all rubber and only lasted a couple seasons before it tore.rubber coating will keep the treble hooks from fouling when landing. If your cheap you can coat a net by using plasti dip;)
  13. bill dance lure retriever. comes with a reel system. Will ditch it when the rope shows fatigue and use a dog leash.
  14. The reservoir is huge. I've probably only covered 25% of it in the past few years. Gotta pay your dues on the water.
