  1. I definitely want to try this lure out, I had a bag of zooms once but never used them. The watermelon red bait is totally off color, definitely want to try it.
  2. They overall are a better lure to use in summer, but you should other baits to mix it up once and awhile.
  3. Very cool, this doesn't happen quite often with bass.
  4. Decent day of fishing, Walleye always tend to hang out where the smallies are.
  5. Like Wayne P. says, if all fails try live bait such as minnows. If you don't catch anything then, they could be carp or other fish that don't eat minnow type bait. I would try deep diving crankbaits and if you can, try trolling them.
  6. Try topwater such as the Zara Spook. I'm always partial to twitch soft plastic on inland lakes.
  7. I find that soft plastic worms you can twitch across the top are great. Banjo minnow is just dynamite on ponds.
  8. I noticed that too for some ponds and inland lakes, I think it's because minnows and bluegill hang out near the shoreline.
  9. Get a small net for your kayak
  10. That's for sure, dam Asian carps will probably be in the Great Lakes in no time. I saw that show too though, was very interesting. But I never heard of anyone catching a Piranha in my area. I'm sure as more people watch the movie Piranha 3d, they'll be on the number 2 list with Great Whites.
  11. Beautiful fish, love the yellow fin underneath it. Still haven't tried fishing saltwater, I'm gonna have to try doing it one of these days.
  12. Pause, jerk, pause jerk. Sometimes waiting really long can bring the bass out of the weeds.
  13. Every time I tried doing it through weeds and muck, always tend to get weeds stuck on my hook. I'll have to try getting a weedless hook.
  14. Totally agree, only caught a few bass near foating docks. Permanent docks seem to hold a lot more fish.
  15. I buy nothing but Bomber, but the company kind of ticks me off that they change colors and designs all the time. Lost a sweet bomber crankbait this year and cannot find the color. It was a rainbow color design, if anyone finds a store that carries them please hit me up with a pm immediately.
  16. It's been really screwy all year in Lake St. Clair. When it comes to fall, I like fishing near dumping grounds or near Delphine channel. But, I'm sure there are other better places.
  17. Totally agree, finally picked up a boat this summer and caught three four pounders this year in Lake St. Clair.
  18. Try a beetle spin. I've found that most largemouth can not resist that lure!
  19. If you're worried about it, just pick up some Fluorocarbon. But, personally I like to use the clear white line by Berkley, the XT super strong. Never had a problem catching fish, my preference on thickness is 8 pound test.
  20. It's kind of a fact that big fish tend to hangout in deeper water, that's not to say you won't find a big bass in shallow. But if I were you I would fish both if you can. If the fish aren't biting in the deep water, try the shallow water. For the deep water I would have some heavy jig heads, deep diving crankbaits, and some rattle traps.
  21. I get pretty upset, it takes me a whole day to forget about it. Maybe a three days if it was a monster. If it's a big fish it just goes down in my book as another fish story. What I also hate is when I lose one of my favorite lures. I lost a bomber crankbait that I will never be able to buy again, it was a rainbow trout color crankbait.
  22. Nothing huge, but it was fun reeling him in. Caught him in Lake Erie fishing of shore. Don't know what the black spots are, maybe due to pollution? Hopefully pick up a smallie next time I'm out fishing.
  23. Just like everyone else, I love to fish for bass. Out of Michigan area, fish in lakes such as Lake Erie for smallmouth and largemouth bass. Hopefully pick up some tips here for bass fishing.
