  12. Yep, caught the trout at the same lake. It probably isn't the most humane thing I've ever done but I casted out a few times with the bat until it fell off. I know bats are vectors for multiple diseases and wasn't about to get bitten. With the way the hooks caught him, his chances of survival were minimal anyway. I've never really been trout fishing. I thought most people just caught them on things like corn, salmon eggs, and powerbait. I'll have to try out some of those worms this spring.
  13. So on Sunday I decided to hit the lake. The bite was pretty much non-existent but on one cast while the bail was still open I saw my line twitch twice so I closed it and set the hook hard. When I started reeling I thought I had lost it then it took off and when I got it to shore, to my surprise it was a decent sized rainbow trout (probably a couple pounds). I was using a 5" junebug senko. Anyone else ever done this? Later that night I went back and was using a jitterbug. I couldn't see too well because it was pretty dark but there was a hit on my jitterbug and when I jerked it, it went weightless so I thought I missed then i reeled in and it was flopping. Turns out I snagged a bat. Probably the weirdest day of fishing I've ever had.
  14. The other half of the lake is level. The backside (where I'm at) is the back side of a mountain. Its reeeally steep and most people dont go back there but theres actually a little path back there and I've had a lot of success. It was crazzy trying to land this fish though. I had to walk him down a bit to find a place to land him. I managed to cut my leg all up and was so excited I didnt even notice until I released him And no I havent fallen in yet, and I plan on keeping it that way lol. let's hope so! How you manage to cut you leg? Nothing to serious was it? And I don't think I gave you congrats on PB, CONGRATS!! I slipped and my leg caught a log with a bunch of sharp jags. Nothing serious though. Thanks Thanks! I love this lake! mainly because of all of the trees and various covers in the water. And this fall weather makes it that much better!

  16. So Saturday (10/02/10) I decided to hit the lake around 10 am. And it wasn't looking like a a good day for me. I had two strong hits first one popped out the mouth when I went to set the hook and the second swam under a tree and wrapped while bringing him in. Then I cast out and the wind caught my line and blew it in to a tree and my line was laying on the bark about three feet up and wouldnt you know a fish grabbed the senko right when it hit the water, so I had to reel a dink 3ft up a tree smh. At this point I was ready to call it quits. While heading to my car my cousin showed up (FATE) and talked me in to stayin a little longer. I walked to the other end of the lake and caught another dink and decided Id walk on around to this narrow shale bank. I cast out about 20 feet and as soon as my line hit the water the line was stripping (bail still open). I set the hook and probably took me a good 5 minutes to get this guy in! He fought to the very end going straight down. We were in 15-20ft of water. Best fight of my life
