  1. congrats on the fish. I been itchin to get out there but still havent found a suitable boat to get. Instead ive been the idiot sittin on the end of the dock at lake ridge with some chicken liver on the end of my line. caught one small catfish on wed but no hits last night when I was out there
  2. Idk what the regs are but if legal then yes, it is very good bait. I have used them for Pike with success. You can also put an egg sinker on and use it on the bottom for flatheads
  3. I messaged the guy again but I guess he sold it or decided not to sell it because he never returned a message. As far as distance? if im going north or towards the res then it doesnt really matter if it is on the way sorta. I wouldnt want to go more than 10 minutes south. Yes I checked. They were very confused and thought I wanted to store a giant Bayliner or somethin and after I finally got em to understand it will be a small jon boat they just said no. You wouldnt mind me askin where this place is? Best I have found so far is 75
  4. This may seem kind of "noobish" but another thing you can do is once the bait hits the water put your finger actually on the line and pull it up just ever so slightly. shouldnt even move the line, just put pressure on it. you can feel very light taps this way. As previously posted "Jerks are free, may as well get one"
  5. As stated in an earlier post I just moved into the area back into the parents apartment. I found a 17ft aluminum boat I might go look at later in the week so I need to figure out somethin as far as storage since the apartment complex won't let me park a trailer here. Anybody from up here know of any good places to keep it? I live right off of RT 1 about parallel to the mall, except on the other side of 95. Im lookin for somewhere cheap with 24 hour access. i do not want to keep itin a slip in the water. And if you don't mind, any opinions on this? I was originally lookin for a 1448 or a 1656 flat bottom but I think this boat could run well and run shallow with a small 8 or 9hp motor. and It is a pretty good deal. obviously I would go and have the guy put it in the water to test everything before buyin it or anything http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/boa/3506162156.html
  6. So I have never actually caught a snakehead. Can you lip em or do you gotta grab em under the gill plate like a muskee or walleye
  7. Just wanted to say hey in the area specific forum. I already posted in the main website but i figured i would be spending a lot of time here so I would say hello. My name is Tanner and i just moved to Woodbridge from the SW part of the state. I expect I will mostly be fishing the Occ Res or river and maybe some other electric only lakes around here. i am currently in the process of trying to find my second boat. preferably a 12-14ft that I can put a deck and trollin motor on with a 9or so hp on the back. If anyone wants to go fishing I am always up for it and hope to see yall around.Merry Christmas to all!
  8. Howdy. name is Tanner and I just moved to Woodbridge, VA from the SW part of the state. I am 23 years old and have been truly fishing for about 5 years. Before that it was always just worm on bobber for bluegills when camping thing. Im a big bass fisherman but also enjoy catfish and crappie and trout fishing. I am currently in the process of trying to get a small 12-14ft Res boat with a 9hp or so motor on it. It will be my second boat, but first with a trailer. If anyone wants to hit that water let me know, Im always up for it.
  9. so here is a question. if you fish in the rain do you use deeper diving swim baits and plastics? it seems that since bass find food by sensing disturbances in the water all the rain hitting the surface would almost cause them to go insaine. or would they come up more looking for stuff that falls out of trees and shrubs and maybe pull a trick worm around just under the surface?
  10. Hey everyone. New to this site. I live in manassas, VA but for 9 months of the year i am in Wise, VA going to school there. been fishing for about a year now and am completely "hooked" (get it, bad joke). I enjoy mostly large mouth and trout fishing but it does not take much to convince me to do any other fishing. So hey
