  1. Thats a fatso! Its nice to see you let her go
  2. Thanks again for all the nice comments! Oh and by the way I released her shortly after and seemed to swim off just fine. Gotta let those big ones live another day!
  3. I was using 8-10 foot diving crank bait (brown/yellow bottom). Nothing was hitting on top water, so I would reel in fast until it hit bottom and then let it slowly rise up to the top and then repeat all the way back to the boat. The bass was in about 6' of water. Normally I can't use that type of lure because by the time summer comes around the lake is completly covered with weeds.
  4. Thanks Guys! I have never had the chance to fish Greenwood lake even though its about 10 min away from me, i've heard theres some big ones in there. Upper Greenwood lake is right down the road, its the little lake of the two. Thanks again
  5. I went out fishing 5/22 for the first time this year and wasn't expecting much at all. The fish were definitly biting but they were mostly 1 lb or less bass (11 bass in 2.5 hrs) - which was pretty fun after the brutal winter in Northern NJ. I was getting close to calling it a day since it was 52 degrees, rainy, and windy and I was pretty cold but I gave another cast and caught the biggest bass by far I have ever caught. My electronic scale said 7.1 lbs and I was fishing in upper greenwood lake, West Milford, NJ. This lake rarely produces fish over 2.5-3 lbs as far as what i've seen and heard people say. These pictures are taken by me since I was alone and to get an idea i'm 6'2" 225lbs for a reference. As you can tell i'm excited!
  6. haha I just posted that to my wifes facebook page since she just yelled for not doing the lawn ;D
  7. Thanks guys, i'm definitely gonna pick up a bag of them and see what happens.
  8. I always hear people talking about using dark colored worms like black, pumkinseed, ect and i've always done the same. The other day when I was getting some lures I noticed white senko's and wondered where and when you would use these. Sorry if this is a extremely noob question. thanks
  9. Being newly married that is such a true statement!!!
  10. No kidding! In NJ when I catch the occational 4lb'er its party time lol
  11. Thanks for all the responses. My buddy who I always go fishing with asks me we bother going so early, but I drag him out there early anyway. I'd rather be fishing and having not much luck than sleeping . I'm gonna try some live bait like texanbassangler mentioned when its slow and if that doesn't work i'll just drink some beer. Thanks
  12. Hi Guy, let me first say what a great board you have here with a smart bunch of guys. I've learned alot just lurking around. Well here's my problem. I live on Upper Greenwood Lake in northern NJ and overall the fishing is pretty good here but it seems that I very rarely catch fish from 5am to 7:30am. After that I do pretty well. A little background on the lake; its man made and it's very shallow (deepest part is about 14') with lots of weeds, it has good size bass and very nice pickerel. The morning has always been the best fishing for me in other lakes, but not here. I've tried shallow cranks, senkos, spinnerbaits, hulla poppers, and assorted top water lures all with limited success. Do you guys have any ideas what may work or what i'm doing wrong? Thanks
