  1. I am a lefty so there ya go.
  2. That's what I've been thinking all along but just thought I'd weigh my options from the BR crowd.
  3. I've got a pretty decent setup that I use to throw my soft plastics and lighter baits but I'm looking to add another setup that I would primarily use for light jig, crankbait, and other medium weight baits. I've attached some reels that are within my budget so I was hoping you guys could help me pick the reel and name a rod that you would put with it. I'm looking for a MH rod that will keep my total price between $150-175. Thanks in advance guys.
  4. I plan on getting up to Wylie to fish at some point because I'm up in the Clover area a good bit. Never been on the lake but at this time a year you should be fishing points in the lake and looking for some sort of structure in the water that could be holding bass. Also, try topwater at first daylight around docks and in shallow water. Good luck.
  5. Having the same issues down here in SC. The bite has really cut off over the past 2 weeks from the absurd amount of rain we've been getting.
  6. Don't be shy, cast it with a good bit of force. Too much will cause it to birdnest but I've found that putting a little effort into it gets me some really nice distance. Also try over your head. Try to release the spool like your throwing it straight up into the air with your free hand on the bottom of the rod as a pivot point. Here's an exaggerated pic to show you an example. If you create this whip like motion with your rod it'll help "sling" the bait a good bit farther. Just remember to let your thumb off the spool at an angle where the bait is going up and not down because it'll hit the water fast if you let it go late. You can also cast to the right like this if you just turn your body.
  7. Really nice looking spot and its good that you have proof there are bass in there. If theres anyway to drag a small little john boat in there you'd be set because the bank fishing looks like it could be a little tough.
  8. I have the Daiwa Laguna and have been really happy with it. For the price you'll have a tough time finding a reel that would beat it.
  9. Thanks for the insight Hanover. One more question, is it more difficult to cast with a baitcaster when on the kayak? It seems like it may be tough to get that pinpoint cast being so low to the water when in a kayak. I'm fine with using a spinning setup so it wouldn't be much of an issue but I was just wondering if its something that you had an opinion on.
  10. What are the pros and cons of sit on top versus a sit in kayak? I'm thinking about purchasing a kayak to fish in as well and to the naked eye the sit on top seems like it allows more freedom of movement for fishing activities.
  11. Really enjoy your videos. Nice fish by the way too.
  12. Nice catches man. Is this on Lake Rabun?
  13. How much do you get out on it and how do you transport it (trailer, store on top of your ride, etc.)? I'm thinking about making a fishing kayak my Christmas for this coming year and am trying to do as much research as I can. I really like the FS12T sit on top because it looks like a good starter and won't break the bank.
  14. Largemouth also have mouth's that extend past their eye. Smallmouth bass and pretty much any other bass have mouth's that either extend right to the eye or don't even reach the eye.
  15. I've been on a dink spell for over a year now...
  16. If that doesn't make you itch to go throw a line out then I don't know what will.
  17. Love that pic with the catfish.
  18. Thanks for the feedback guys. Just go with a steady retrieve with these for the most part?
  19. Something I'd use to fish for some bigger sized largemouth on a lake setting.
  20. Never really fished with a swimbait so I was curious what kind some of you have found success with? Also what kind of rod/line setup do you like to use when fishing the swimbait? Thanks in advance.
  21. So I have a birthday coming up and I'm looking to get a new baitcaster. I normally use a spinning rod setup but I'd like to get a nice light action baitcasting rod and reel setup that I can begin to play with. Open to any suggestions or tips.
  22. That first fish has an odd depression in its side haha
  23. Thats a big fish. Awesome for both of yall.
  24. Nice day in the heat.
  25. She'll be hooked and want to go with you all the time. I have a girlfriend who goes with me when she gets the chance and even lips the fish (with a glove on) and takes the hook out. I love it.
