00 mod

Went carp snagging a couple weeks back and finally got my friend to email me the picture of the biggest one I snagged! Most were in the 15-30 lb range but how big do you think this one went? Jeff PS> I'm 5'4'' but I was holding it out to not get slimmed!

m/f fast would work fine, but the rod number signifies it is a medium light fast...

Went out to "Pond X" with a buddy again on a cold March day(3/30/11 last Wednesday), started off with my buddy catching a dink on a suspending jerk bait. Though oh no, they are gonna be hard to catch today. With the temps in the low 40's and rain for the past couple days, we didn't expect much but to have fun! Typically catch them on spinner-baits and plastics, I threw a white 1/2 oz spinner-bait for a while and missed one! He switched quickly to a soft plastic and caught another small one. Went about an hour or so and nothing, so I decided to tie on a Reaction Innovations sweet beaver green pumpkin/red flake and within 20 min BAM, I hook and land my new PB, weighed, took pictures and released to be caught another day! She weighed 8lb 9 oz. ( checked twice ). Didn't catch another fish all day, but we didn't care! Some trolling motors you can, some you cant. Maybe someone that knows your particular model will chime in! If you do go for it, make sure you have a small pick or really small screw driver cause the wires will get in the way of putting the bolt back in and it can be a pain! Jeff

For poppers/prop baits/walk the dog I use a 6'6 mh/f with a curado e7. For frogs/slop I use a 7' h/f with a 50e(just my jig rod that I throw frogs on) Jig/frog rod has samurai braid on and I use yo-zuri hybrid on my popper/prop bait rod!

So a friend and I went to a pond, we'll call it "Pond X", for a little fishin this morning! Caught ALOT of bass on top-water. Mostly devil's horse, with a couple others. Ended up catching 4 picture fish with a total bag of around 23 lb or so? First fish weighed 4lb 3 oz, second fish weighed 4lb 6 oz (bad picture), 3rd and 4th fish were caught on back to back casts(only 2 big fish not top-water) and weighed 5lb 1 oz and 7 LB ON THE DOT!!!! Caught around 25ish fish in all and had a blast! Now for the pictures....

If I was trying to feed my family, the one lure would without a doubt be a 1/8 oz Roadrunner white with a white curly tail on it! So far this year alone, I have caught bass, bream, crappie, a drum, and a buffalo on it! Can't beat that for variety and numbers of fish you could eat! Now if we were talking about you get one bait to bass fish with the rest of my life??? Would have to be a Smithwick devils horse! How exciting would it be, for every fish you caught the rest of your life to be top-water!!!!!!!

Without a doubt in MY mind, the best braking 1/2 ton truck out there is the Toyota Tundra! They pull like a mule as well..... only problem is price tag and gas mileage! I'm on my 2nd one! Jeff

I fish at least once every week sometimes as much as 3 times! Then I do fish about 6 times a year for a week straight on trips! So on average about 100 days a year give or take....?? Jeff

Here are some pics of my fiance and our fishing trips! She usually skips the bass trips, but loves the trout trips! Here are a couple of her bests! All of these were caught bottom bouncing while drifting. She uses a Pleuger President on a St Croix premier spinning outfit! And yes that is her rod and reel!

I have used them for a couple years! Most of the time a steady retrieve is what works for me! Jeff

Oh yea! I forgot to mention that I only take my fiance fishing with me about half a dozen times a year because she ALWAYS out fishes me and it takes her that long to get her ego back in check before we can go again! Jeff

To be 100% honest, the difference in the core and the 50e are so small that I probably wouldnt buy another core! My core is the 50 and even though it is lighter and they say the drag is better, for the money, you can buy 2 50e on slezzybay for the same price as 1 core! My vote is 2 50e's! Jeff

Ha ha, those 50e's sure are sweet, huh? I love mine. Yea my main problem with it was it felt like a boat anchor! HEAVY!!! I dare say I even liked the color Just didn't hold a hat to an 50e, granted the 50 was like $75 more! She had also bought me a core from the same guy, and when I returned it to him he smiled and said I knew I should have gotten her another Shimano! LOL

My fianc é bought me a carbon black for valentines day right after it came out. I thanked her and promptly went to bass pro and exchanged it plus some cash for another 50e. Jeff
