  1. Happy Birthday! Jeff
  2. If there is more than 30,000 flowing below the dam I highly suggest you go on the river!!! Jeff
  3. Biggest you can afford! I run a 24v 80lb on my 1648! Jeff
  4. My rod is a 68mxf st croix legend elite paired with a shimano stradic 2500.......but I love RW's rod more....glx something or other paired with a shimano stella! He will chime in here sooner or later! Jeff
  5. I have both the 70mhf and the 70hf. I throw most of my jigs on the h/f, but NEVER throw a jig less than 1/2 oz on it! I also use the mh/f but I prefer the h/f even though most think it is overkill! Thats just me, and what makes the world go round! Jeff
  6. Try exposing the hook and them barely skin hooking the point, so it will be weedless again, but easier to get the hook to come out! Also, make sure there is no slack in your line when you set the hook. If there is a bunch of slack, then the swing of you hook set moves slack line and not the hook at all! Jeff
  7. RW had a good mixed bag of whistled trout, ugly fish, trash, an whatever else you wanna call em! EASILY over 40lbs in 5 fish! LOL! But he still outfished me probably 8:1. Jeff
  8. YES IT WAS!!!
  9. Roadwarrior and I ventured off to the TN river yesterday for a full day of fishing. Got on the water around 7:45 and fished until around 5 and landed a boatload of fish, probably 30+ with a mixture of everything you could think of: skip jack, crappie, strippers, yellow bass, cats, drum, buffalo, largemouth and SMALLMOUTH!!!! The day got started hot early with the unwanted fish. RW outfished me for the entire day(to be expected), but I had my BEST DAY EVER for smallmouth. Lost a monster when it jumped, but at least we got to see it(5-6lb) early while RW was boating fish left and right. We drifted minnows on the rocks on both sides if the river. About half way through the day is when the MAGIC started to happen. Right around 1 pm I land my new PB smallie at 5.0 lbs. The the very next drift, and very next fish I up it again to 6.4 lbs. MY NEW PB!!! And to top it off I landed both my LM and SM PB in the same year!! Between 1pm and 4:45 is when we landed the majority of our large fish, while also loosing some before we got them netted! My 3 best smallies weighed went 15.4 lbs! GREAT day and a HUGE thanks to RW for putting me on them. My back of the boat guide! Jeff Sun was going down when RW finally let me take a pic of his fish! LOL RW's HUGE buffalo!!
  10. Santa brought me a present or two or three a week early today on the river with RW. Continued success in 2011 look for full story tomorrow!!! Jeff
  11. I would risk a lot more than a goose bite for a 10 lber!! Jeff
  12. Nice!!
  13. Nice report.....wheres the fish and the new boat pics? Jeff
  14. Great idea! LOL My 2012 goals are to break the 10lb mark......thats a HUGE goal, but if you don't set your standards high well then........ Jeff
  15. Everywhere between the dam and cotter really! We drift fish the entire stretch and there is no rhyme or reason except the water level, flow and where we find em! LOL Jeff
  16. Big shout out thank you to NATEFOLLMER for my awesome xmas gifts! I got all raged up and a swim jig, and a some swim baits, and some tubes, and a whip finisher that I needed! Jeff
  17. I have a few more if you would like to see!!!!
  18. I didn't mention that fish, because well, its just a story! And it was over 4 hrs when the rod broke and then the line! It has been a great year, and also I am going to "sneak" out with RW Sunday to hopefully add my PB smallie to the list of accomplishments this year! Haven't caught a smallie in 20 yrs(fishing with my dad when younger) and the biggest one to date is only around 3 lbs, so maybe.....just maybe....!! Thanks to everyone here I have become a MUCH more knowledgeable fisherman.....still working on those skills! Jeff
  19. St croix avid avc70mh/f with a shimano core 50(7:1) and yo-zuir hybrid 12lb Jeff

  22. Smithwick devils horse. I have a dozen or so with me anytime I'm on the boat!!! Have probably.only lost like 2 ever but you can never have too many right? Jeff
  23. The difference in the e5 and e7 is the gear ratio, not the bearing count. The 200e5 is a 5:1 ratio and the e7 is a 7:1 ratio Jeff
  24. Call a tracker marine store. they have a parts department for all of this! Jeff
  25. We did eat the wahoo......it was actually in Barbados, and we traded one for a meal at a nice restaurant, half of one for all the "fixin" to prepare the other half which fed the 6 of us! it was a great experience and a great dinner/time! jeff
