  3. I got to BPS 9:15 Friday morning and they had 1 unopened 50mg left so snatched that up got some Palm trees Kanzen braid Rap UL Crank and Rocket Shad
  4. I dumped cable 15 years ago and went Over-The-Air antenna route. I have DSL for internet. I dont pay for any other services. A few stations put their programming online for free after it airs so watch those like History Channnel A&E most of the Networks. Ive thought of going paid HULU/Netflix but with my service Im limited to 150gigs/month and wouldnt get full use out of it would go over that limit. I stick with HULUs free content and Youtube free movies. Oh with my ISP I get ESPN3 free and get many sports on there college football & racing thats a plus.
  5. I was checking out a Ch50E today The knobs(which I like) on the Chronarch 50E are bigger than the Core/Curado knobs. Do you know if those knobs are direct fit on the Core?
  6. At Thankgiving their 20% off applies to sale items. My Cumara was on sale and got 20% off the sale price
  7. Yep already have and because it was mentioned/recommended http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/105991-jjs-magic-does-the-trick-to-damiki-hydra
  8. This is the exact reason I tried Ikas and most any lures, forum recommendations. I dont have cable or get read fishing mags at all so not really influenced by advertising. or If im using company A's product and like it I will more likely try a new product of theirs over company B's product of the same style.
  9. How about one of those Bass Raiders from Pelican or the like. Might find used for cheap new they are like $400 for the small one. Not sure how easy they row just tossing out an idea. I have a Sea Eagle that has been great for me. Its very stable take 2 kids and wife at times no worries of tipping over at all.
  10. Im in Rockford but thats not much west. I drove passed a little lake today I frequent just to gander. They dont allow icefishing nor most likely would I try anyways if allowed. The itch it is upon me though scratching it with gear puchases.
  11. I was checking on a Helios BC and noticed BPS does sell their reels bc & spinning just not the Helios. Maybe just maybe if I get lucky theyll have them at the store. They lean towards saltwater stuff looks like. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Navigation?storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&searchTerm=Okuma
  12. Well Ive had mine almost a year and though it casts great, manages line great, very light the grinding just hasnt gotten better on mine. I regreased the gears a few times and it helps for a bit. Now there is a whine type noise when casting think its the shoes/brakes. Ive decided to take it back see if they let me exchange it for one of the reels I mentioned in my above post or at least another one..
  13. I havent got mine yet either. Here the online version I didnt see anywhere if Shimano will be included for reel trade-in offer. Was thinking of Ch 50E, ABU STX http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&appID=163&template=circular.cfm&i=145209&m=26235&storeID=19&tab=3
  14. Thats what Im working on right now still deciding on arrangement/placement but here a pic of what mine looks like so far. Going to paint, get more lighting, maybe another board, a desk.
  15. My parents got a Grey for basically the price of the cage. It had plucked all its feathers out and wouldnt let any person touch it. Had a cone put on it and kept it out of its cage as much as possible and over time it became tame and very beautifull bird. Year later we got a Yellow Amazon and it was friendly from the start. Well that was 25 years ago and they are still going strong.
  16. These articles say slightly different to that so might want to make sure with whatever glasses are purchased http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/uv-protection/AN00832 " Polarized lenses reduce glare. Unless they're specifically treated with UV coating, polarized lenses don't offer UV protection." http://www.aao.org/eyecare/tmp/Sunglasses.cfm "Polarization has nothing to do with UV light absorption," http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/15/health/15patient.html?_r=0 "But remember, polarization in itself will not block UV light."
  17. Certainly understandable. Buy from well respected companies and know their policies. One like Shimano that has over-the-counter Lifetime warranty. Even with that there can be certain stores that wont take them after certain time. You need to ask store of purchase how they will take care of issue. Most have a charge depending on company for warranty claims for Lifetime rods. I unfortunately have used St Croix warranty twice. Sent broken rod(my fault) in and $20 and they took care of me.
  18. Given a specific budget I would give more money towards the rod. I have rods from $30Ugly Stiks, $50 BPS, $70 Clarus, $100 Premiers then mid $150 Smoke, Avid, LTB, then my highest-end rod a St Croix Elite will use any side by side on a given day. A couple things that I find with the mid to higher is you get a better sense of what the lure is doing on the bottom. I form like a picture veiw in my mind due to the added sensitivity of a rod like a senko amongst the weeds or rocks. I can feel the wiggle of the senko as I twitch it, as it just tip overtop a rock or falls out of a weed I dont get this with my under $100 rods. With moving baits you feel a difference in the crank even with the slightest bit of moss/weed gets in the hooks and changes the retrieve action of lure. If you are on top of or in the weeds the feel is better once again can sort of form a picture of the lure in those weeds. The best benefit, that I dont see mentioned much, is the fight with better rods. I get much more feedback and enjoyment of what the fish is doing, where its heading or direction its going like if its coming up to jump, nose down headed for cover. I can feel it rolling(catfish) can feel bass its body wiggling flexing substantially more vearing left to right. Just the fish's power is transmitted at a higher degree making the fight all that much better. This is my view on what a person gets out of better rods. I wouldnt say they are needed just something different that adds to the hobby of fishing.
  19. Thanks for the input on the Helios guys been interested myself. One thing I saw was it has a 3 year warranty, thats a bit better than most other reels.
  20. No bashing at all. Just 4-5 posts read like ads for Seaguar, its their 1st post, so checked some them out and sure enough they are in association with Seaguar. They state just what I would expect them to state about a product they are in partnership with. I dont know any of them, dont follow the tournament scene, I have nothing against the brand/product at all. Im interested in the product thats why I read the thread to begin with. Just not influenced buy sponsored recommendations. I see this no differently than going into BPS hearing KVD say how great BPS Fluoro is give it a try. He is doing what is expected. Same view as the OP in this thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/112698-pro-credibility/
  21. This frog is the one Im most looking forward to fishing. I put a few frogs together to show how they compare profile wise. From top left- Scum Frog, Spro Popper, Spro Bronzeye, Koppers bottom left- Flipin the bird, Dahlberg, Iobee
  22. Lure-Spro Baby BBz-1 Rod- Veritas micro but returned it so not out anything. Line- Sufix Performance Braid only paid $5 for it but just too loud like playing a violin Reel- Zebco Omega
  23. Scored 2 St Croix Premier rods $24 each during one sale. Thought it was going to be around $50 for one but rang-up half the sticker price so went and got another one.
  24. The only Senkos worth buying GYCB Swimkos, DT Hula Grubs too. Yum dingers but passed on those. They had RES 20% off reduced price for $4 not that bad.
  25. I hit GND MNT up for their sales, on the way home I pass a DSG and I resisted the urge to go in and see what they offering. Sounds like I better get back there.
