  1. I dont have very many I found this storage at Menards on-sale for $6 thought it would work well for them and other lures.
  2. Thats good. I sent Seaguar an email offering to return/exchange my line see what happens.
  3. You have any break-offs with #20? I had a couple with 15# and ripped 15-20 feet of line off then tested the line and only getting 9# max strenght out of this line. Ive tried a number of knots and took off even more line and tried it still not getting over 9#. Wont lift my 12# anchor I have. The knots arent breaking the line is. Casts great holding color fine just not strong wondering if I got a bad spool
  4. Ive never heard of doing it new to me. Maybe a company should create a lip out of fluorocarbon resin and have an invisible lip
  5. Great day it would appear. All caught on the same lure?
  6. SHHHHhhhhh.. Dont want the bass in my lake to figure this out cause all mine are on a steady retrieve this little fat bellied one too
  7. My hook-ups and holding % has been outstanding with Trokar hooks. As well as the same findings of others with the penetration with less effort and how far it pentrates. I use lighter powered set-ups mostly from the normal preferences so the sharpness of these hooks are quite apparent. The one time my point did roll was due to a hang-up on a rock and trying to free it otherwise the point has been staying for quite a time and catches.
  8. Lipless crankbaits like Red Eye Shad,Rapala Rippin rap,Spro Aruka Shad. Creature baits like Fat Ika or Damiki Hydra and the ever popular Senko. In my thread here, http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/118106-few-lipless-crankbait-catches/ ,if you have a lake with rocks around shore all the above have worked for me at one time or another. Right now though the lipless cranks are the ticket. Aside from just the rocks they all do well for me throwing in front of/along cattails and other brush along shoreline. Too fan casting out in the middle _\ l / _
  9. Comparing 1/2oz sizes the Rippin Rap is shorter length & thinner but a bit taller. The rattles are a higher pitch with the Rippin Rap. The Rattlin has a bit of a hollow feel to it. Ive not had any luck with the Rattlin dont know why maybe the Bluegill pattern the fish dont like but just doesnt catch fish. I have Chrome Blue Rippin and its been doing well for me. On a couple outings now its the only lure to catch any fish for me that day. I was out today and caught this guy along rocks with the Rippin. This leads to another finding the finish. The finish is holding-up great so far numerous days/times tossing directly on rocks, running over them and such. Other lipless I have have major paint loss with less abuse. It has scratches just no paint loss. So really liking the durability
  10. Thanks Yes its a great little lake. In the pics the water isnt even as clear as it usually is. Nearby river flooded into it a few weeks ago so a bit discolored.
  11. Out 5-7-13 trying my new Spro Aruka Shad Jr lipless crank and it did very well. I was throwing against/along the rocks and got a very nice bass, for this lake, a nearly 3 1/2 pounder and a few others. Then when that bite quit got out my crawlers and caught a few crappie 10"-11". Here some pics
  12. Whoa nice you had a great outing!!
  13. Well Im in Northern Illinois and had river flood waters reach my favorite lake. The level went up a good 5 feet and the visbility went down about half from 15 to 8 feet and a bit browner color from greenish. Im fishing the the shore rocks more cause the water level is above them now where it normally is just to them. Bass have already moved into them and tossing lipless cranks parallel in front and over the rocks have been producing. Im tossing wacky senkos into brush that is water covered now jigs would work too but not tried yet. So guess saying try the "new" areas that underwater could lead to catches. If you know about a log that wasnt covered and now is throw to it. Im adding a pic showing where water was, now most those rocks are underwater. See all the places a fish could call home.
  14. Shimano for sure. Have Core, Cu50E and Stradic got very good deals on all of them. If I had paid full price of what their asking would feel a bit ripped-off. CU50E doesnt really cast lighter lure any better than a Carbonlite reel. Stradic(went through 3 of them) isnt any smoother and actually noisier than my Supreme XT's, The Core I bought about the same time I did an Okuma Helios and and the Helios has impressed me the most due to its lower cost yet top features/performance. The best feature of the Core is its weight I was being a weight weenie wanting a very light reel to go with a very light rod I have and it does match extremely well.
  15. Didnt check water temp but last year it was hot for quite some time and still caught fish in mid day 12-4pm 100+ heat. Here a thread of what I used. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/104503-kinami-palm-tree-to-beat-the-heat/
  16. X2 Here a pic of one of my rods they also protect the end from damage thats the reason I bought mine. My Croix Elite got gouged and didnt want it getting worse.
  17. Yes its the worst I have used noise wise
  18. Nice catfish and video, now you got me wanting to catch one. I was using a 1/2 RES for bass and caught my PB crappie with it last Oct 2nd. Plus just last week my first crappie of the year I caught with a 1/2 Rapala Rippin rap tossing for bass
  19. I dont take issue with your post at all. You posted about an issue gave a heads-up basically on what might be the cause of a plugged tube. Now if that issue were to arise with one of my tubes I know now not to cut it open but to poke a screwdriver or whatnot in the opening to free obstruction. THANK YOU Its no different than a rod breaking the first time used youll get it fixed/replace yeah but it still broke and no reason not to post that it broke. You have a plugged tube post about it.
  20. Being this is Lipless Cranks 101 I'll ask--- Can these be tuned like a crankbait? I have a couple RES that tilt and veer to my left while burning them in. Once I slow to a moderate pace they settle out run true. Im not liking this cause it seems to limit my presentation. Anything that can be done?
  21. I have very limited use so far but fishing the Helios HS side by side a Core50 and Curado 50 its given no reason to make me feel like it was a poor purchase. Casting so far has been very good controlled and thats all Ive done with it no catches yet. Its on a Cumara 7'6" and throwing 5/16 Rippin' Raps with it easily. Even got a "Whoa thats far Dad" out of my son. Had KVD 1.0 sqbill as well no issues. Very good feature set and we have the great Scott Martin "pimping these reels" in his words BTW. So like those JD Powers initial quality rankings I would give it high marks but long term testing still needs to be performed to give it a recommendation. Here a few pics
  22. The pink Foamular is closed-cell wont absorb water. Used for docks and such below grade foundations. Saw one guy made like two pontoons strapped a lawn chair to them rigged a trolling motor and use it as a boat.
  23. Man wish I had internet back when I wanted auto, took all of 5 minutes to find out how-jump through hoops and pay Scratch my uneducated comment above.
  24. FA not allowed in IL that I know of.
