  1. X2 Ive never used over 20# I have 10,15,20# braid on my bc reels. Get the base amount of the braid on the spool very tight. Guides, well from ugly stick on up no issues over ten years using braid nearly exclusively.
  2. Yamamoto Senko wacky rigged with weedless hook, your choice Kinami Palm Tree with 4/0 ewg hook rigged backwards. Damiki Hydras rig same as Palm Tree Senko Palm Tree Hydra
  3. POWER PRO
  4. I bought one pack of trick stick at Gander for $1 when I got home and looked them over half were deformed so never used them. Guess could give one of the good ones a try.
  5. Yeah my Core50 Curado50 and Chro50 do the same. My other brands dont.
  6. 8# 10# 20# PP 10# 15# 20# PPS8S 6# Nanofil
  7. The Curado 50E was $200 same as Chronarch 50E is now so same price. The frames of the CU50E and the CH50E are the same just different color. The handle on the CU50 could be outfitted with 2 bearings each knob. The CH50E can only have one bearing per knob. The knobs of the CH50E are preferred by most (this from a Shimano Rep) over the knobs of the CU50E and I agree.
  8. I use a 7' M/F Quantum Smoke rod & 7'6" ML/MF Shimano Cumara Reaction rod. I really like the Smoke rod with lipless cranks seems to need less effort with the faster tip to rip through weeds and work the lure. Plus its extremely light at 3.4oz with good balance. I have a Shimano Core50 on it and its a delight to fish. Its rated to 3/4oz lures as well and handles those, most M/F rate 1/2oz lures so this is another plus. Same as You & jezeeD I have a MH/F Premier it is stiff Smoke rod not like that has some give. I have caught crappie with it and not ripped their papermouths' off.
  9. I feel you pain brother. Ive returned 2 brands of reels the past few months would have really liked to keep them just issues. Im not a brand loyalists but I replace them with Shimanos (one being a Chronarch) and they are working without a hiccup no noise smooth operation and great spool management. A Chronarch is definitely one reel to check out.
  10. For the past couple weeks mine has been the Kinami Palm Tree. My senko bite for some reason has been non-existent this year. The lipless crank bite has faded. My jig had a few taps today but no takes. From running overtop of weedmats to bottom 20'-25' the Palm Trees have shined.
  11. AWESOME PB POWER PRO RULES!!

  13. The Core 7:1 gears fit the 50E costs around $30 or so for parts : pinion gear, drive gear, key washer, and maybe drag washer not sure. Been searching for the parts list from Bantam1. But its a doable mod.
  14. The Rattlins I have run true Rippins do as well. The Rattlins though Ive never caught a fish on fish just dont seam to like it might be the blugill pattern not sure. Ive bought a few different brands lately Xcal,Yo-zuri,RatLtraps,SPRO,SK RES like 25 total and the only ones to not run true are 3 RES out of 5 of them I bought. Thanks, you have given me a thing to try on the RES. It is very annoying cause I bought them out of town so no way of returning them.
  15. Here is a video of some glass vs poly from Oakley
  16. Shimano did a name swap of the old Curado to Chronarch. At the $200 pricepoint the reel in question stayed basically the same save for cosmetics and the handle. Internally the only difference I see is the drag washer has a different part number. I have the old CU50E and the new CH50E the difference I notice, the knobs much prefer the Chronarch knobs. So if you are not caught up in a name and looking at pricepoint the reel wasnt dumbed down.
  17. getting back on track Yeah this is one that puzzles me. The CH50e handle looks to be the same as the Core50 but changes the spindle. Why make the spindle that way and not give a person the option to replace a washer with a bearing like on the Curado. The Chronarch knobs though are great really like them I replaced my CU50 and Core50 knobs with them.
  18. All but one of my reels have braid, the one having Nanofil.
  19. Hmmm guess we have had different experiences with them then Ive caught hundreds of bass with those things over the years. On a higher quality side there is Secret Weapon Sidearm Double Willow Spinnerbaits I have use these. TT gave them a 9 rating and TW has 5/16 size It has a fitting that attatches the double blades and can be removed for single blade use so you can have a silver or gold or both. No bearings to go bad and different blades available
  20. Call ahead and make sure they stock Tatsu Or Sunline, if its a far trip. Couple days ago I went to "my" BPS and they dont carry those.
  21. X2 The bit of difference this lure has is a double hook that swivels.
  22. Well on this point buy from a place where you can return it BPS,Cabelas Gander DSG. I bought returned reels at all of them. I like trying different brands as well so what is itching me at the moment I look into what reel has it. Like weight I was wanting a light set-up and the BPS carbonlite just came out and I picked it up, at the time it was for the price a very light reel. When I find a reel interested in then research it on muliple forums to get an idea on how its doing. I didnt have access to an Okuma Helios reel so went by a few reviews and reports then found it on sale and went for it the reel didnt work out so after a month returned it. Where you buy from ask about their return policy thats what I did for the Helios I made sure it would be returnable called asked 3 times different people.
  23. It varies for me. There are days Ill take just one lure with me thats it. Last Friday I took just Palm Trees out and used them for 7 hours.
  24. I agree with you about the Chronarch 50E I just got one a couple weeks ago sweet reel. Ill toss this out as a constructive suggestion so please take it as being helpful. You should work on training your thumb, now not even for max distance, for the ease of getting the distance you do currently. I went out and put on six pins and tried tossing a senko then switched to two pins and the effort to get same distance is quite less with just two pins engaged. Training your thumb could lead to easing your elbow discomfort in some little way. Spend a day or two in the yard tossing lure with less brakes your thumb is pretty smart and will pick up the feel quickly.
  25. I agree with this. My favorite rod to use with wacky senko is an 8' ML Moderate rod and I dont think one person would have suggested this rod for this purpose but I think its great.
