  1. TT tested 832 and its abrasion was below avg for the braid group avg, 25 cycles to failure while avg is 35 cycles. And the line is above avg in dia. TT quote "Sufix 832 did not fare well at all in our abrasion tests"
  2. I rarely use a bobber but its worth trying for yourself to find out how productive it is on your waters. I tend to go a little smaller hook size than most others from what I read on forums. I have great success though with weedless #2 or #1 size hooks.Your EWG hooks should work but might get caught in weeds often.
  3. Today went to a place called Four Lakes just NW of Rockford its a bit pressured but has some decent bass in it my PB is from there. Here what I managed a 19" 3-1/2#, 18" 3# and a nice one that looks to be on a diet The biggest one just out in open water, maximum cast, hit with a thud the other two out of slop seen in backgroud of the skinny one. I tried this small area 4 separate times. 1st when I arrive nothing then hour later tried it got a couple strikes but missed, 3rd time 1 1/2hr later got the 18" one, left for about 20 minutes then hit it again for the 4th time got the skinny one so persistence paid off.
  4. Fluorocarbon line count??? This year the first for it. Working out OK but a few things dont care for about it.
  5. FYI Gander has 6,8,12# Sniper for $15 I bought 10# Sniper a few weeks ago liked it so bought some12# only thing it seems to stretch a bit more than what I was prepared for. Ive used braid nearly exclusively for years though so any stretch would be quite apparent to me.
  6. Hello Dylan keep fishing keep learning cause as long as you fish there will be something to learn.
  7. As of late I'll take anything I can get quality or numbers but it aint happening. Today I was out 6-1/2 hours and only caught 2 a 13"(palm tree) & 15"(senko) made for looong day. Lipless cranks,spinnerbait,jig- zero.
  8. Through eye twice uni knot is what I use braid fluro. Knot Wars went head to head this knot and palomar, uni won. Too the tag end can be minimal just enough tho pinch/hold with fingers 1/2"-1" or so. Aaron Martens quote : "Some guys might consider this chapter to be controversial. I don't want to be controversial, but, at the same time, it's important to tell the truth. And, the truth is the uni knot and the Snell are much better than the popular Palomar knot for strength and durability, especially when you're fishing with braid or fluorocarbon."
  9. How about better bearings for your current reels? I notice quite a bit difference in my 50E's putting better bearings in. You could get one set of bearing to try out and switch bettween your reels to see how they do. If you like the difference, 3 sets bearings may be the wiser solution for 3 reels rather than jumping to just one reel. Too how well do you use a baicaster like how many brakes 2-3 brakes? If you can train thumb better and go down to 1 brake low spool tension with most presentations this makes noticeable difference casting ease distance and turning effort of the handle.
  10. What did this Oregon Officer use on this guy in video that came out about a week ago? The guy got shot in chest but didnt skip a beat. Was able to get more shots off then drove off and a 1/2 mile later well didnt make it. http://media2.s-nbcnews.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Video/__NEW/tdy_mor_dash_shoot_131004.vembedlarge456.jpg
  11. Bigbill I have a $30 ugly stick and a $300+ Croix Elite guess which rod has caught the biggest fish yep the ugly stick.
  12. Braid isnt expensive $10-$15 for a spool that can fill 2-3 reels and last for years and years. I have the first spool of Power Pro I bought over 10 years ago. Its on a spinning reel my son uses now and is still strong. On my spinning reels with larger capacity 30 size I use filler. On my smaller spinningreels 20 & 1000 size no filler. On my 50 size baitcasters no filler at first but will gradually use filler as needed through use.. Leader I dont use and my waters are 15 foot visibility but nothing to worry about as far as abrasion. Mostly weeds I fish through. I think pretty much falls under personal preference confidence thing. Ive not had any wear issues on any rods reels no matter the cost.

St Croix site.
  14. Im going to say those at Academy might not be polarized price/model. The model # on those are 03-460 checked the oakley site and same 03-460 model s are regular lens here-http://www.oakley.com/products/5535/21919 The polarized oil rigs are here- http://www.oakley.com/products/5564/28057 Replacement lenes here indicate warm grey are not polarized-http://www.oakley.com/products/6345/23239
  15. Just a heads-up dont overfill the spinning reels with the braid. Line line will catch on itself pull off next layer of line and you have nest/tangle so beware.
  16. 10-15-20 # braids 10 and soon to be 12 # fluoro sunline sniper.
  17. Not specifically just for women but the 50 size shimano baitcasting reels (curado 50e, chronarch 50e, core 50mg) are of a smaller physical size. The thumb bar a bit lower to the rod handle (1/8" or so) than my "full size" baitcasters, this can be different from brand to brand though. The profile is slimmer top to bottom and they are thinner left to right width wise.
  18. A little over a week ago caught one. Had an ika on put the rod down to use lipless crank rod and the ika rod started moving. Im like wth grabbed ika rod and frog on with trokar hook poking out side of its mouth.
  19. Could use a bobber and adjust depth
  20. Same experience here with Seaguar kanzen 15# I used, very weak braid line broke under 10#. Weak also describes their customer service.
  21. I was looking just 2 minutes befor prior posting and just again checked and availability is : low stock. Sale has been going on/off for a few weeks they sell out get more sell out so apparently they have more so get'em quick if wanting one.
  22. And is $280 right now for 50mg7 at gander, just checked.
  23. If you're fishing close or around rock, gammy if at distance non-rocky areas with fluoro line, trokar. Trokars sharpness offsets fluoros stretch and less hooksetting power on longer casts. Now if braid user both seem to work for me but still prefer trokar. I definately notice the ease of hookset on my lighter powered rods vs other brands and how deeply they penetrate. Trokars arent cost prohibitive for a try'em once to find out sort of deal what $2-$3 more a pack the only thing is you may get hooked on them.
