  1. I disagree...... Bottom contact to me is where braid rules in sensitivity dragging jigs or running Ikas along bottom much better feedback on braid. ------------------ Getting unstuck from weeds/snags as well is much easier with braid than full fluoro. Fluoro you have to pull past the stretch first then pull a bit more to free the lure = more effort involved. One of the more noticeable attributes I found going to fluoro. Hook setting power is much better with braid over fluoro at distance. Another thing Ive noticed is less feel of the fight with fluoro than what I get with braid. I feel the fish turn twist dive rise shake much better with braid.
  2. I have and use braid that is 5-10 years old still strong.
  3. The lake is shore fishing only so going by experience feel feedback from rod with braid. Once I figured this spot was producing over & over & over I took the time to try to figure why whats out there in area best I could.
  4. Sunline Super Sniper
  5. Try putting the handle on the other side of the reel??? That what I did for my son. I let him try retrieving witrh handle on right then handle on left and let him tell me which he prefered. That would be my take on why they reel upside down is cause hande on wrong side for them.
  6. Im sure that the case but yet could be deceiving. If you saw me at my local lake in certain spots it looks like Im just swinging for the other shoreline when actually I found areas far out on bottom that hold fish routinely. One area off a point out 100-110 feet on bottom Ill throw and hit weeds drag a few turns toward me and the weeds stop for a 15' or so then weeds again. In this opening is where bite occur. Its been this way for years I know the spot and others like it. A good sensitive rod helps as well to tell you what out there your radar in your hands.
  7. Ive seen people use spinning reels upside down.
  8. You ever been told you talk too much.
  9. Im stuck in that conundrum right now. I very much like variety when it comes to reels rods dont have duplicates of any. I have a Quantum Smoke rod that I think is an excellent rod weight balance sensitivity power price yet cant bring myself to get another of the same just because I want to try different brands. Too on my reels I have a Shimano Core50mg7 and its awesome. Im wanting another reel but have passed-up great deals/sales on another Core cause of this wanting to try other reels. I actually returned a Chronarch 50E cause it was basically like my Curado 50E. There was nothing wrong with the reel but I got the Curado 50E for $100 (yeah should have bought 2 at that time) new on sale so spending $200 for the CH50E seemed like a waste if that makes sense. Not getting anything different better just paying twice as much. So yeah I would if the deal that I couldnt pass-up came along say 50% off.
  10. 1/8 = .125 3/16 = .1875 In the pic below the Rapala 1/8 mini fat rap #3 (actual wt is .1513oz) middle row left fire tiger pattern on my Core50mg7 ONE brake & Cumara 7'6" ML Mod rod 12pound sunline suprer sniper fluro I get 60'+ controlled spool. It is right close to 10' off per brake applied 2 brakes around 50' and 3 brakes 40' but there more effort involed with the more brakes applied as well. So one brake to get 40' is easier of a cast than the 3 brakes getting 40'. Doesnt seem bad with the amount of brakes used. 5 brakes going to take distance away for sure.
  11. They BPS have cheap $5 reels on hand for the event to purchase then turn around and give back to receive a ticket for discount. This is what I have done when not having a cheap reel to give.
  12. Crappie lures no issues with my bc reels well when they are 1/2oz red eye shads that is. I do throw mini fat raps#3 & bitsy minnows that are small cranks at times with my 50 size reels with ML mod 7'6" rod. Like others mention practice is key. I do feel people try to rely on the better braking systems of today reels instead of actually training the thumb to toss with.
  13. This Oakley site has like simulation of their different lens tints and description for neatral color or contrasting color mostly gray based lens will be neutral where look just gets darker without change in color. Contrast lens will change color some say to yellowish or brown. So neutral may fit your preference It will also give you the "light transmission" how dark or light you see throught them basically, the lower the number 9,10,11 the darker they are for bright sun. So 17,23,30 the lighter the tint for low light cloudy days http://www.oakley.com/innovation/optical-superiority/lens-tints
  14. Those pics are in 3d just put on some red/blue shaded glasses and those fish POP out of the screen
  15. I dont feel my hook-ups suffered at all with the wire guard but it helps greatly dragging across bottom through weeds and throwing into thick weeds. One instance that may come up is once the wire gets worn/bent need to make sure it doesnt set under the barb of the hook. There are other type of weedguard hooks that use bristle style like on a jig but havent used those just wire. I mainly use LazerSharp weedless hook they seem to have a lighter wire that gives more easily than say the Gamakatsu wire guard worm hook, that wire seems a bit stiff to me but think any bass of size shouldnt have a problem depressing it. Most regualr jigs have stiffer weed guards than these though.
  16. Baitcasters are much more prestigious and only the highliest of skilled anglers should attempt to use them.
  17. Try wacky rig the senko the hook will be more exposed so might help with nip type bites they could bite and hook themself at times. Plus wacky will give a different action to the senko from t-rig
  18. I saw they also have 832 Arma Core & 832 Arma Skin that is 4 gore and 4 Dyneema sounds like something to check out.
  19. Depends on position being filled regular production workers 1-2 any further up chain 3-4 1. HR 2. Production management 3.Plant management 4. Shrink evaluation for plant leadership positions.
  20. Hmmm?? I do interviews at a manufacturing facility what I see missing in the top 10 questions and other questions to ask are safety related questions. To us safety is #1 priority and after intros lead with safety questions. Have you ever witnessed an unsafe act if so what did you do? Let it pass, intervene. What would you do if you saw an unsafe condition? We've had Division Leaders in that didnt have on proper PPE(safety gear ) and production workers step up and let them know its required without hesitation and thats expected. As mentioned look me in the eyes give me a good handshake brush your teeth dont chew gum or candy and dont put on any cologne just be clean. Give honest replies, a person that does interviews over and over gets a sense for BS, and try to give a response to every question. We score and no answer gets you a 0 so any truthful reply helps. Try give more than one word replies. We dont hire on the spot we meet to go over all interviews that day call you back.
  21. http://www.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/Rod_Warranty.html "However, if they come to us appearing to be broken in a car door, look like they have been used excessively, or we were informed by the customer that it was broken in an accident, then Shimano will NOT warranty them." "Retailer and wholesaler outlets are not required to perform warranty repairs or exchanges on behalf of Shimano or Shimano Canada Ltd. / LTÉE, nor are they authorized to modify this warranty in any way." Cause its raining have nothing to do I googled Shims OTC warranty and found many instances of non-compliant retailers So you buy a rod thinking you have a great OTC warranty to find out when you nead it your SOOL send it to shimano think this would sour people moreso. I have a clarus and cumara would be ticked if the OTC wasnt honored. My dealing with Criox was good. My avid was snagged and trying to free it the line snapped then the rod whipped into the roof I was under snapping the rod sent it in with note and week later rod in hand cost me $30 shipping&fee. For being my fault that acceptable.
  22. I think I caught its cousin last week Thought it wierd as well a couple others from same lake had big bellies didnt dawn on me to check it over though. Was caught dragging lure over slop had couple misses so yeah if blind it might just be striking like WRB said.
  23. Usually a number of online places have 20% off or so during Thanksgiving sales. I bought a Cumara last year for $100 it was on sale plus TG % off
