  2. Well I got combined maybe 4hrs use with BB1 Pro and my knobs are peeling--Boo to Lews

  4. What are your brake settings? 1/2oz cranks should fly with one internal brake on, and 1-3 on the dial, loose spool tension.
  5. I bought Sufix 832 300yd on sale split it between CHCI4 & BB1 Pro. Put around 250 feet of 10#mono backing with around 450feet (might be 500' anyway a lot) of 20# 832 braid on my BB1 Pro. I run straight braid no leader so it gets used and will add backing when needed. Plus will turn line around after each season til I whittle away down to 150 feet or so then get new line. Dont like throwing passed the connection knot. I think Ill be set for quite some time, likes years.
  6. Going to send in for the long sleeve promotional shirt offerings from Daiwa and Lews. Thinking about the XXL size would just like to get feedback from anyone that has that size from one or both of them. You think the size is small for a xxl or big for xxl? If runs small will go with xxxl like a little loose than little tight and longer than shorter on the sleeves. I have the xxl gold Pflueger and xxl tan Pflueger long sleeves and the gold is bigger than the tan. The tan sleeves are about inch too short for my liking. Thanks.

  8. Here a before after test with upgraded bearings http://fishinglifestyle.net/2012/02/boca-bearings-orange-seal-review-extreme-casting-distance/ I know Im getting more distance throwing to places wasnt able to get to with cleaned stock lighly oil bearings. Im stingy with my money will take items back in a heartbeat if not pleased. I bought some like the beneifit and bought more. They take some adjustment to learn to get get better.with. They make more noise but it gets less with use. Its the special tool that will increase your initial cost. My shimano reels were just an easy swap.
  9. Would say which ever rod balances better with that reel. I have both the BB1 Pro and CI4 just havent used them yet so cant really comment on them. My CI4 is going on 7'1" medium fast for throwing plastics. BB1 Pro going on to throw lipless cranks frogs with it.
  10. You must have a 2pc rod if you can get just the tip portion. You would be much luckier to have purchased a 1pc and broke it, then pay more to get it fixed under warranty. I like that they offer tips I bought a couple tips at one time so saved on shipping so have spare if needed. $40 for 2 top sections of an 8' $200 rod not bad to me.
  11. One aspect not mentioned is the extra feel of the fight you get with braid. If youre not one to horse your fish in under 1 1/2 seconds you get much better feel of what the fish does during the fight using braid. You feel more of the twisting and directional changes of the fish. The pulling shaking is amplified more. Just seems to be more enjoyment to the fight with braid.
  12. My wife calls me that all the time, my reply: Its better than being a dumb @$$. --- That was a good one btw.
  13. X2 I bought 7'1" *** Black got the $20 gc at purchase. Got $25 gc same time with Tatula purchase. Online ordered BB1 Pro and the $30 gc arrived couple days before the reel showed up. Didnt have to do any extra stuff or forms to fill out.
  14. this tool might work http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-screw-out-174-damaged-screw/p-00952154000P
  15. Another person on TT asked the same ? about a G and got this reply Bantam1 » Mon Jan 27, 2014 1:42 am The pawl was removed as part of a running change that was done.
  16. Shimano must have deemed it unnecessary. People take them out with no issues so why not save a little money and not put it in to begin with.
  17. Never seen bass attack snake but have seen bass following snake and for some distance 100+yds.
  18. on the PB What a way to pass the time till the bass bite warms up
  19. So why continue to do so? With me yes less effort and longer distance. Over a whole days fishing & days in a row that less effort adds up on a body. Some say the less effort adds to better accuracy as well. So less effort longer distance better accuracy for $25. I feel a much better upgrade than having 2 bearing in each knob. There no perfomance gain at all with knob bearings it comes down to a knob that spins for 7 seconds vs 30 seconds and feel. A longer handle can make reeling easier for sure. If had to give up one of them Ill stick with abec7 over 4 bearings in the knobs.
  20. 44, wife and 2 kids 8-14 and I like technoloqy just dont like phones. Though I dont use it I have to get the wifes I5 working when she doent know what to do. My kids dont have them either, laptops good enough.
  21. Oh heck no. Thats one thing that never goes with me. I dont own one dont want one. My wifre got me a pay as you go and it stays in the kitchen. She keeps refilling the dang thing and it now has like $300 not getting used. Sunglasses for me even on overcast days. Light sensitive eyes can cause headache squinting all day.
  22. Ive read of breakage issues the last several months but not as many in the past.
  23. Well I mostly use braid and tried fluoro last year and what is considered a very good brand Sunline Super Sniper. I found it to be very stretchy line. It was almost like work dragging bottom presentation through vegetation weeds and stuff, just not as efficient. It did behave nicely on the spool though and line coils were minimal to what I was expecting. I didnt even spray it with line conditioner which is recommended for fluoro and an added expense BTW. Never got to notice the slack line sensitivity its said to have. I notice though it has less overall sensitivity than braid. With the same bottom dragging presentations I get more feedback from braid not doubt. On moving lures less feedback sent with fluoro for sure.
  24. Im gonna barbeque your @$$ in molassis
