  3. The SVS system allows for lighter braking than what the one brake VBS E can achieve. If you as the operator can take advantage of the less braking the CUI will cast farther.

  7. Just dont open the thread its that simple pass it by a person is not forced to read it or reply to such threads. What Ive noticed is the ones that complain of such things are the first ones to post in those threads. Its quite possible that if there were no repeated topics this site would dry up very quickly. I see no harm in a person wanting to start a chit chat, if its something Im not interested in Ill go to the next thread its that simple.
  8. Power Pro Super 8 Slick very quiet and strong.

  15. Thanks for the heads-up Lordpaxin Ive seen the Crucials on sale lately and your post sent me on my way to check DSG this morning and I scored a 7' MH Crucial they have a spinning rod as well but no use for that one. I have in the past also got a couple ST Croix Premier rods for $24 each with these un-publicized deals THANKS
  16. Anything else about the smoothness you can comment on? Have you handled a BB1 Pro to compare it to? I had a BB1 Pro and it to me was a very smooth feeling reel. Sounds like the Team Lite isnt up to par with the BB1 Pro. 3 of the 7 comments at TW praise the smoothness of the reel others no mention good or bad. Is there a chance something is wrong with yours??? I actually bought a Tatula BB1 Pro and CI4 at the same time and thought the Pro felt the smoothest but the sideplates gave it a cheesy feel/look maybe less refined like Tywithay mention.
  17. PitchinJigs dont discount quality graphite all together. The Shimano Chronarch CI4 is all graphite reel and for me has been an OUTSTANDING reel. Made in Japan, an ounce lighter, a little smaller spool & size than the CUI and like the brake dial placement better plus can be $220 at Gander right now. Or CUI $160 fyi
  18. Ive bougth Shimano Daiwa Lews Pflueger BPS Okuma reels the past five years. Ive had to return or exchange all but the shimano and diawa brands due to defects durability noises. If there is a reel that interests me though from another brand I will still give it a try but for some reason shimano and daiwa reels just work like they should. I have a lightweight Okuma Helios rod that Im thinking the Lews Team Lite is the reel Ill pair with it. So going to give Lews another shot.
  19. My PB is 16" 2#-2oz caught with 1/2 RES Blue Chrome
  20. What size cranks and kind of cover and length rod you looking for. There is a St Croix Avid on sale for $108 is 6'6" MH Moderate 3/8-1oz lure. Seems most like a little longer rod for cranks though. You wanting Medium duckett so this Avid may be too much power but just ponting it out to you. http://stcroixrods.com/shop/freshwater/
  21. My order arrived today about 10:30am also put in my Okuma Helios rod I just recieved Son helped me put together the rod rack I though it would be a little bigger.
  22. All purchase new rods 2 SC premier rods $24@ SC LTB $115 SC Elite $125 Cumara $100 Clarus $30 *** $30 Okuma Helios $110 reels Curado 50E $99 Chronarch CI4+ $110 SupremeXT $75 Tatula $38
  23. People dont pay extra for the seals they pay extra for the ceramic bearings and name. Orange seals or metal shields cost the same --29.95 http://www.bocabearings.com/bearing-inventory/17028/fishing-reel-bearings/ceramic-orange-seal-abec-7/shimano-core-50-mg7-spool-baitcaster http://www.bocabearings.com/bearing-inventory/19897/fishing-reel-bearings/ceramic-metal-shield-abec-7/shimano-core-50-mg7-spool-baitcaster
  24. Brand aside- I would say it gives the reel the ability to achieve a higher level. BUT does the operator have the ability to extract that higher level performance. Putting in better bearings then adding more braking more spool tension or even oil to "tame" the upgrade isnt really much benefit.
  25. That may be good advice for a person new to baitcasters but to get better or once person is better with them I dont think its important. With a good reel and well trained thumb a person shouldnt have to adjust the tension to every lure. Set it for minimal side play leave it loose and go. Wont touch it going from 3/4oz lipless crank to 1/8oz spinnerbait to wacky rig to jig/trailer just not necessary. Having the tension set to where spool stops when lure dropped from just 3-4 feet is way too much braking hurting overall efficiency. A trained thumb with less tension less braking will work better and able to throw easier throw farther and have better accuracy. The more effort put into a cast the less accurate you will be and increasing spool tension increases effort. Practice your(OP) baitcasting more cause learning how to use less brakes less tension will benefit you more in the long run than using spool tension as a crutch.
