  1. I dont like SS guides so woulnt buy that rod. Biggest reason that keeps me from getting NRX is the recoil guides. And IMO no lighter doesnt mean better but is one factor in my decision cause that is something I like in a rod when chosing between comparable prices.
  2. Well there is the Quantum EXO Tour different from the EXO PT line. The EXO Tour has a 7'6" H /XF at 3.7ounces rated 7/16- 1 1/2 oz I ve held this rod with the Quantum Tour MG reel and it feels very nice in hand ---- Some other lightweights that have length and power As mentioned Smoke rod the 7' M/F rated at 1/4-3/4 and can handle 3/4oz lipless cranks comes in at 3.4oz lightest Iv seen with this length power action production rods Okuma Helios 7' MH/F 1/4-1 3.5oz Helios M/F 7' 1/4-5/8 3.4oz
  3. Dont leave out Quantum, the Smoke rod rules
  4. Online now too for $75 great reel http://www.cabelas.com/product/Pflueger-Supreme-XT-Spinning-Reel/847275.uts
  5. I agree In over 12 years with 8 & 10#PP never once have I cut myself with it I guess it would be operator error if you do. Ive also used it for frog fishing on slop/mats it has plenty of strength for its size.
  6. They are. TT did a side by side and internal comparison snip quote: "They share very similar guts (with some parts being identical), the same frame and sideplates, and all three reels (Tatula, Tatula HD, Zillion TWS) are made in Thailand" They have pics of each frame right next to each other they are the same and the sideplates are interchangeable as well.
  7. The Rippin Raps are very good from my experience with that said I think most things are overpriced.
  8. If by TCS you mean the Okuma TCS you can get the higher end Okuma Helios for $130-140 walmart .
  9. IKA Wacky Senko
  10. I use braid but just cant go 50-65#. I have one reel with 40# and think that is thick. Im very comfortable using 10-15-20# braid on baitcasters. Ill take advantage of braids strength:dia if 15# fluoro is strong enough 15# braid is much stronger but way thinner more manageable to me.
  11. When I leave home with just these Im good for a days outing.
  12. 69 and 10 rebate and 10 ecard and use promo code gmt5 for 5 more off, every little bit helps
  13. I have a president, 2 supreme xt's and a stradic would purchase both pfluegers again but wouldnt the stradic except at about 50% off.
  14. I salute you
  15. How so? 5-4-1 isnt a very bad rap it basically came down to ergo and the weight form of the TWS frame is not as ergo as the CI4. Weight, price, handle length, ratios that cant be debated it is what it is, Drag test show those results max to Z smoothness to CI4 no debate there. Just not seeing the bad rap with the results.
  16. stretching is for rubber bands and my waistline Ill stick with braid
  17. Which braking system you prefer Will the 1oz lighter CI4 balance well on your rod. The form of the ZTWS not fit your way of holding a reel, CI4 has a more "traditional" form. Does Made in Japan(ci4) vs Thailand(ZTWS) matter to you. On the TT test 2-2 on the CI4 braking sure seems a bit much, more towards 50% braking than the 30% of the Ztws 6 of 20 setting. Max on ci4 is 4-6 so half is 2-3. the CI4 faired better in more categories for the win.
  18. What is your definition of clear? I use straight braid in water with 15 foot visibility with 20-22 foot depths has been a long time since I have been skunked on that lake. In other lakes clearly see bottom 6' deep. Caught my PB in very clear water deadsticking a senko white line nanofil. These lakes are public and heavily fished.
  19. They had Tatula rods for $75 for some reason I still passed I was tracking an Okuma Helios rod and got one for $110 and yes price was all over day to day 147,135,149,125 then when I saw $110 pounced.
