  1. Do you have the ikas lined up straight??? I just got back from using ikas and mine comes back very straight on steady retrieve. When I jerk them back to hop off the bottom they will shoot in random direction I guess. I like how they work with braid popping off the bottom better than what Fluoro does, fluoro seems to weigh it down some braid gives it a more free action. When rigged backwards try to "walk" it back to you, like a frog. With the right cadence you can get it to move left/right pretty well Ive caught quite a few fish doing this.
  2. Daiwa and Shimano are included in their sales they just cant advertise that they are. Call them. Thanksgiving Sale last year I bought Daiwa SV105 20% off. Ive bought Shimano Cumara as well 20% off
  3. For a full spool of braid make sure you get the line on VERY tight, yeah tighter than that. Actually if you dont use leaders a full spool of braid works out, over time, to use less line.
  4. Here is one from 5/17 close to 4 pounds
  5. Another very windy day got a nice 3# bass a few others and even nicer crappie 14" in about 2hrs of fishing
  6. normal/typical shimano backplay
  7. Just about its going down to mid 30's tomorrow
  8. To the pike, that took my fresh one cast of keitech swing impact fat and tour grade 1/8 ball head jig, I salute you
  9. Core 50mg7 doesnt handle 3/4oz KVD spinnerbait very well basically a chore to wind it in. My CI4 with higher ipt actually does a better job less effort involved.
  10. From the looks of this page Northern IL sure is heating up!! Nice catches all. Here is my 19" 4# from today on my new Fenwick World Class 7'6" MH/F rod handled it nicely And a 16"
  11. How dare St Croix sell a 7'6" Legend Elite for for $130 no way am I getting one of those, or a LTB for $115, something is up must not be very good rods.
  12. Give the Okuma Helios a look. 7' MH/F Very light, balanced, power, sensitivity at a good price $140. Will handle 5" senkos to frogs nicely. Dont be fooled by the price it will hang with avid LTB cumara fenwick rods. Went and took a quick snap of balance with a lighter 50e reel than the 200i
  13. You learn more through failures than with success Daiwa has learned a whole lot.
  14. Ive used powerpro 10# in a number of spincasters(Omega, Goldcast, brown 33) and underspins. The biggest issue is the coating on new braid that will gum the pin and housing. I sprayed my line, pin, housing with reel magic and it solved that issue. So if going with the 33 use it a while with the braid to get it worn in some. Goggle or youtube------- Zebco 33 catches 50 lb blue catfish
  15. But you see those arent the Made In Japan reels. The real quality begins with the Japan reels. The E was Japan as well probably why that one you like.
  16. A modified uni knot double the line -maybe a foot or so pass thru eye twice 6 turn uni wet cinch down cut tags leaving 1/4" I too lost fish with the box recommended knot but since going to above knot havent lost any, still need to check line though to see if retie is in order after 4-5 fish I dont use leader.
  17. I just use a different/better knot. My 6# nanofill with different knot holds to 9#. My 8#nanofil with different knot holds to 12#.
  18. Sunglasshut 90 day returns. Ive returned a number of glasses 1-2 months of use that just didnt feel right, light getting in, reflections stuff.
  19. Ive had close to this happen and very thankful I had good glasses on at the time. Went to grab bass out of the water and jig came loose and hit me directly in the middle of the lens. Knocked my glasses off and hat but no damage to my eye
  20. I have a Fenwick Wold Class rod 7'6" Medium Heavy Fast that I use to toss frogs.
