  1. I have a couple M/F smokes use braid and fluorocarbon. Ive used Sunline Sniper Fc in 10-12-16 pound test and like the 16# the most. Havent tried any other brand fc. For braid I use a number of brands Smackdown, power pro super8slick, gamma torque are my most used this year. With that reel you have the balance of the rod/reel is very good, wouldnt you say, feels good in hand. Very light and balanced makes for a great combination.
  2. If you keep doing what caused the inflammation hows it going to go away. Is your equipment causing discomfort. I have a rod LTB that is tip heavy and has small grip. Due to how I hold the rod/reel this lead to pain in my palm throughout the day so I basically stopped using the rod.
  3. It will work for shooting docks too. Got this one from the dock in background
  4. Something like t-rigged1/8 weighted worm will work with Medium Smoke casting rod. Ive thrown 1/8 bitsy minnows with mine and 1/20 TRD ned rigs.
  5. Here is one of my senko catches from today. It hit hard was on bottom of about 22fow used St Croix Avid 8' ML/moderate rod with 8# nanofil. This is my favorite set-up for senkos just a very fun rod to use. Yet it also plays a very good roll in detecting the pressure difference that you get with light non tap bites. Its thats feeling of somethings there???
  6. I got out today nothing hit til the rain started and that was the switch that needed to be turned. It only rained for about 20 minutes and then sun came out. I was getting hit left and right. I got this one that looks to have escaped the teeth of a pike and a nice one on a senko. All hits were off the bottom nothing going after my moving baits
  7. Im with you as well much prefer the RR over RES. just too many RES Ive bought that dont run true and cant tune to run true. All my Raps run true at any speed. The finish on the rippin lasts much longer.
  8. GYCB and not even close. Id say 60% of my fishing time is with GY products- 35% Keitech and 5% other.
  9. I can list a few the problem fc has with stretch the cost of replacing fc when it wears out much faster than braid line management having to keep line conditioner(another expense) handy lack of knot strength with fc the less efficiency working lure on the bottom through weeds vegetation the less sensitivity of running lure on bottom contact baits these are issues solved with braid as far as leader - one more knot to fail
  10. FAT IKA 10.91 grams 0.384 ounces
  11. If 8# fluoro is what you have been using thats your biggest issue right there. Not the right line for this application. I didnt even care for 10# or 12# Sniper Fc with my ikas too much stretch. I took some pics for you to get an idea on the gap between the hooks you are thinking about and also mic them for thickness. Still thinking the Deep Throats are the best in my use which is nearly every outing I go on. Owner wide gap plus 4/0 1.51mm Deep Throat 4/0 1.16mm a bit thinner
  12. With just one ring like to use 5/16" id on my 5" senkos. 1/4" seems to dig in the senko a bit much causing wear. I actually use two rings and cross X them and put hook through both so hook sticks out from senko. When doing this I use one ring with 7/16id and the other 5/16id. looks like this
  13. Yes it will work I had the same boat once with 30# tm and 5hp on the rear. Used in 40-320acre lakes.
  14. Dont waste your money/time with those, been there not good. Get some Gamakatsu Deep Throat 4/0 hooks
  15. Medium Light would be my choice. I have 8'ML/Mod, 7'6" ML/Modfast, 6'9" ML/XF used these with ned rigs inlines and 5" senkos no worries.
  16. Ive had a lot of luck with 1/4oz jighead and 3.8" Keitech swing impact fats head winds of 20+mph
  17. here is my take on 3 of my most used this year being .011dia s8s gamma torque smackdown strenght/dia 1 2 3 quietness 1 2 2 price 2 1 3 subtleness 2 1 2 smoothness 1 3 2 bleed 1 2 3
  18. 2 o-rings crossed run hook under them hook is at 90 degrees a wired weedless is my choice.
  19. I have used the watermelon red&black flake 7" size wacky for throwing on slop. Its actually held up quite well for me not seeing the durability issue like a senko. Couple packs of 5's hang on the pegboard but just dont ever seem to use those. can just see the ocho on top of my thumb slop cleared off
  20. I have a MLXF LTB never thought much of the rod. Its rated 1/8-1/2 but it didnt load well with small bitsy minnow cranks, actually fairly stiff rod. Its on the tip heavy side and that short handle digs in my palm. The sensitivity never wowed me either for its price point. If wanting croix save cash and get an avid or splurge on an elite or one of your other choices.
  21. SPRO the only frog you need to know
  22. on the water time the more you fish the more you learn and vary the places that you fish
  23. A 3" senko will cast easier/farther with 10# braid than 8#sniper. Plus for pads braid will be much better if you get in the stuff more. Braid will rip through those weeds/pads. The strength of say 10# braid will be higher in the 15-17# ranges for added benefit. Might get away with 15# braid. Ive used 10-12# sniper fc but didnt care for the stretch hooksetting with my senko use. In pads you want to get them up and out with quickness not deal with line stretching and getting wrapped
  24. Strike King Bitsy Minnows Booyah Pond Magic & Micro Pond Magic spinnerbaits
  25. Curado 50E 12# SniperFC Quantum Smoke 7' M/F rod. Keitech 3.8" Swing Impact Fat 22" #6.21
