  1. Was said to be fixed but like you Im still running slow.
  2. All three are roughly 5 minutes from me so I go to the lowest price/best value one for what I'm after
  3. I had both the 70HG and Chronarch MGL returned the MGL for the 70XG model. 70's can be found for $150 making for even better deal.
  4. Same here on my pc using chrome firefox and on android silk browser on tablet.
  5. Get a rod weight around 3.5oz or lower and balance isn't much of an issue. Just not going to be enough tip weight in front once a 6-7 ounce reel is put on to be a bother.
  6. Take out your favorite bass lure that you only have one left of, and its discontinued, tie that on dont use a leader and you will be guaranteed to at least get bit by a pike.
  7. See picture and notice the little piece of plastic that is slid over the bend. This will keep the line from sliding on the wire. This particular brand(Secret Weapon) came with the piece but you can make your own out of heat shrink tubing or small fuel tubing from hobby shop or tiny rubber band. As far as knot the Fish-n-Fool knot is like the uni knot just wrap around wire twice instead of once like the uni. The FnF knot is also proven stronger than the palomar knot and uses less line to tie.
  8. Id stay with the senko over the frog. Just t-rig the senko or get weedless hooks and o-rings and go wacky style. You can fish on top of the slop and when you come to an open pocket let it fall or just scoot on top to next pile and repeat. Many times the bass hitting through slop will make the frog go in the air and you miss, the senko is more likely to fall not be bouyant.
  9. Mepps has caught my biggest of the year so far use them often but lean towards the smaller side #1-#2-#3 white dressed aglia and black fury. This caught with #1 black fury dressed
  10. Dont use leaders. All lines I use 6 turn Fish-n-Fool knot. Proven stronger than palomar and wastes very little line.
  11. The Scorpion70 is running $180 no warranty the cuardo70 I see for $150 plus you get the warranty. You could get curado70 and upgrade the spool bearings(zpi, hedgehog) as well as the other bearings you planned on.
  12. I just got back from an evening of fishing. Here are my bonus catches a pike and crappie around 12"
  13. I use Eagle Claw Laser weedless #2 for wacky rigs. Trokar swimbait jigheads for paddletails. Gamakatsu EWG for ikas. Lost too many fish with quite a few different types of owner hooks so they dont suit me.
  14. Just get familiar with the brakes first then slowly work your way to less braking it has a fast spool so practice more. I have 2 70's the HG and XG. I have 16# sniper FC on the Hg and 40# Samurai braid on the XG. The tension is set light on both- example, a 5/0 ewg hook can fall and cause overrun of spool from a three foot fall. The HG sniper reel is set at 2 internal use dial as needed. The XG samurai being its braid and behaves much better than FC I go to 1 internal and use dial as needed. Ive had 20# braid on the HG and threw 1/20 trd ned rigs easily with the reel but use 2 internal.
  15. I have the RG-ab 2000 have used .006" 8# Nanofil & .005" 8# Nanobraid no issues at all. Its been a very good reel so far have caught a 5 pound bass with it and many 3-4 pounders.
  16. Another here saying go for the 70. The 70 is a big improvement on the 200 braking system. I had a 70 and then bought a Chronarch MGL had an issue and instead of exchanging for another MGL went with another 70 cause the 70 was nearly identical to the MGL casting performance. The 70 can be bought for $145 or so at places.
  17. Combos I take-- panfish, moving bait, bottom contact.
  18. 22 bass today 19" 18" several 16" 15" threw 3 different paddletails some ikas and hydras.
  19. Thats normal every reel I own does that. Reel CI4 serviced by DVT does that. My Daiwas tatula, sv105, t3 do that, my 70's HG XG do that, 50E Core 50 do that. Its normal.
  20. A quality 10 pound braid (not kanzen) will hold to 15 pounds or so. Ive dragged in some huge weed piles with 10 pound braid. Ive fished spro frogs with 10 pound braid on baitcaster in this area. Brought this frog catch in over the tree limb in above pic
  21. Do you guys ever buy the brand dog Costco uses and cook them at home?
  22. Fastenal 50 o-rings for $1.85 if that seems "expensive" maybe a different hobby is in order. https://www.fastenal.com/products/hydraulics-pneumatics/flanges-gaskets-and-rings/o-rings?r=~|categoryl1:"603388 Hydraulics 9and Pneumatics"|~ ~|categoryl2:"603576 Flanges, Gaskets, and Rings"|~ ~|categoryl3:"603580 O-Rings"|~ and if you notice a tear in your senko use MEND-IT (here is the BIG money saver) to fix the tear and 20+ bass on one senko is quite doable. http://www.cabelas.com/product/MEND-IT-GLUE/2288491.uts
  23. Ive used the 30# for year and half now great braid for the price.
  24. Here are some weights for rods bought under $150 V.1 Quantum Smoke 7' M/F 3.44 oz Okuma Helios 7' M/F 3.3 oz Okuma Helios 7' MH/F 3.54 oz Balance of Helios 7' MH/F with 50E 6.9oz reel. Helios 7' M/F with Core 50mg7 5.5oz
