  1. Anybody else have their web security stop them from going to Japan Lure Shop? My Kaspersky wont allow the site to load. I have went there in the past with no issues but right now Kasp. say malicious site warning.
  2. Looks like the best Daiwa reel for the price has been discontinued. RG-AB 10 bearing air rotor air bail for $60 excellent reel. A few places still have them.
  3. The 1/2oz sleeper can really soar getting good distance. Ive been using 16# Sniper FC with Medium/Fast Okuma Helios and hookset at far distance hasnt been great. It may be a Megabass product but the hooks arent Trokar sharp. Lost quite a few the other day also a number of the ones I caught the hook just didnt penetrate well basically fell out hardly any pressure needed to release hook point. For this reason I just switched to Medium Heavy/Fast Helios. I will be using same 16# line. Ive used 10# Sniper in the past and had issues with hooksets at distance as well. You have to overcome the stretchy line one way or the other be it stronger rod stronger line even different type line (braid???) or sharper hook.
  4. Hooksets out past 100-120-140 feet are much easier to stick than stretchy fc mono.
  5. This thread is filled with jealous individuals.
  6. Okuma Helios 3.5oz for the 7' MH/F usually under $120 at walmart but sold out right now. I have this rod and it will do fine for frog use & multi purpose rod. Balances well too with 7oz reels. Very good sensitivity for jig use. I just got home from using my Helios along side my Kistler H3 7'3" LMH/F Helios lacks very little compared to the $300 H3. In fact Helios shines over the H3 in ergonomics. Very noticeable going from H3 to the Helios. If wanting more power Helios Heavy/Fast 3.9oz only $106 at walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/Okuma-Helios-Mini-Guide-Casting-Rod/34742966
  7. Shimano SVS infinity > >Magforce 3D > >VBS >Magforce Z > > > > > > > > >SV concept
  8. 6# mono is going to be iffy with reg ewg hook. 6# mono will stretch quite easily. That type of rigging usually needs a firmer hookset to drive the hook in. Issue could be snapped line or fish jumping off from not setting hook past barb. Keep the ewg small 1/0 or under might help some a larger 3/0-4/0 ewg good luck. 6# braid would be better suited for ewgs than 6# mono.
  9. Im using 16# fc for both
  10. I have used many braids for many years. Im a braid guy and use it on most of my bc reels. Im 100% confident in making that statement. Is nanofil the greatest line ever, nope horrible abrasion resistant just like braid. The knot makes a BIG difference where with braid many knots work well. It not a power line cause its not a braid.
  11. Nanofil is my favorite spinning reel line for over 5 years now. Actually just purchased more of it in 4 and 8 pound. Used braid before that and have tried some new braids inbetween but go back to Nanofil. I use a knot that makes the rated strength 50% stronger much stronger than the recommended double palomar. Casts great and the sensitivity is better than braid.
  12. Ill keep line on til cant make a full cast without the connection knot interfering. At times a few years or over a decade.
  13. I have a ML Avid woudlnt consider it to be equal power to my mediums in other brands quantum,shimno,13,okuma, its has less power.
  14. I dont bother doing anything to the reel during the return period. I have returned/exchanged a fair number of reels.
  15. I hardly ever have used my WP but still just bought a Choppo to try out.
  16. If you would quit trying to get a dig in on me or spin the words around you would realize I didnt blame THE BASSMANS issues on his hooks. I just answered his question. Answering the question, in my particular instance, CORRECTLY. When I use owner hooks. Cant be debated cause its my own experience, doesnt matter what your or others experience with same brand is, doesnt negate that when I use owner hooks I cant keep fish pinned that is if they get hooked in the first place. Give me 4/0 Gammy Deep Throats for IKAS...no issues.
  17. You need to get some sleep you dont understand the question asked!
  18. Your reading comprehension is lacking!!! My reply was 100% relevant to the question posed.
  19. Nobody has said it was the hook! Nobody has said it was hook!
  20. In the Daiwa brand have an original Tatula and T3 that I prefer over the my SV models. TatSV isnt a bad reel, quite good, but just doesnt hang on the top end. For other brand I would definitely choose another curado 70 over the TatSV. If I could get a good BB1 Pro I would choose that over the TatSV. Bad thing with the Lews was durability refinement but it could cast extremely well, just loudly.
  21. Its my no confidence hook.
  22. Tat SV holds 230feet of 16# Sniper FC for its lack of great distance that is plenty of line to spare. The stock spool bearings arent the greatest either durability wise. So being disappointed with the TatSV and SV105 no more SV reels for me.
  23. Whenever I have an Owner hook tied on. I lose more fish with Owner hooks than all other brands combined ever.
