  1. No issues with a JMCarbonlite on a Smoke7'MF. Their weight is like .260oz. It wouldnt hurt to practice more at least to help improve yourself unless your gear is totally out of range.
  2. yep Well I took a look and one inner drag washer for Core is #3548 and the 50E is #3915. The key washer Core is #3941 the 50E #3213
  3. I dont have any issues with 10#-15# braid on my baitcasters.
  4. Secret Weapon Lures has worked well for me. With them can change swap blades/skirts no tools needed. They dont use swivels. Mine have a little piece of rubber for a "line keeper" so line wont work up wire. Not a big deal but nice little accompaniment. They use Mustad hooks. Got a 9.0 rating on another review site.
  5. My 1st PP was the off-white color from around 10 years ago still have it on a set-up. I caught fish didnt think about the color being an issue. About the white color of line. I bought Nanofil, and on the same lake Ive been fishing PP the old white and Moss green, I had my best 1hr -1 1/2hr stretch ever. The white Nano sure didnt seem to hinder my catches.
  6. No doubt in my mind BPS sent me a used reel once. The plactic bag was torn the nut that holds the rotor on had nicks on the corners and a scratch about 1/2" long. About JMC reel I was casting just nightcrawlers yesterday size 4 hook. Dont know how much a real crawler weighs but it worked fine. I wasnt getting 100' casts but 30'-40' or so.
  7. Frog bites are awesome What would you say is your strike to hook-up ratio?
  8. Well if light abrasion includes rocks pp will suck at that. Ive had a 17" bass on with 10# pp my line touched a big shore landscape rock and tink line snapped on contact.
  9. Guess I cant wear my OU hat/shirt any longer I never played football there. Thing is I was fishing today with my new JM Carbonlite reel Smoke rod while wearing a Team St Croix t-shirt. What people wouldnt know is at home I have 4 St Croix rods. I do "see" though where you're coming from once you take notice of something like that it sticks out. Like when you buy a blue whatever truck you take notice of all the other blue whatever trucks.
  10. I opened mine and well they didnt use much grease at all plus it didnt seem like too good of a grease. I greased it nice, no full blown cleaning, Man what a difference just doing this made, much much better. Its a great reel now awesome caster KVD 1.0 with ease and 1/8 SK buzzbaits. Im wanting to use it more than my 50E of which Ive left home on a couple outings took the JMC/Smoke combo
  11. FYI have you seen the 7'0" MM LTB on sale for $161 on the St Croix website store.
  12. Nice catches bought a Bandit 200 just havent use it yet good to see it works.
  13. Well one negative is frog fishing this stuff with braid the line picks-up fibers and the tip guide gets plugged every now and then.
  14. Well with this reel for sure dont order on-line it will be a crapshoot. I handled 3 to get mine that felt nice others had the rough spot that is widely mentioned about. Plus I made the mistake of ordering a reel(Spinning) from them and swear they sent me one that had been returned/used by another person. The plastic bag was torn plus it had rough spots and the nut that holds the spool on had nicks on it.
  15. Nice as long as you catching something.
  16. Here my report from the 23rd basically sloooowwww to still presentation any constant movement nothing http://www.bassresou...__fromsearch__1 Gills very aggessive tearing-up full nightcrawlers if I had just a nub they passed on it.
  17. Its a nice little lake. Couple days ago I saw a catfish scouring the bank and 2 northerns were following directly over/beside it and a big bluegill trailing them. I followed for about 50yards casting in front of the cat but it didnt take.
  18. Tight lines in Rockford, bass, gill on worms, jigs all shallow.
  19. Nice nice day out headed to local lake fish were on just no big ones. JM Carbonlite use a jig-n-craw on the supreme Xt crawlers. Had to get through/away from gills to get bass. I sighted all catches and on one bass we were like in a staredown he didnt budge nose right on crawler for like 2 minutes it seemed. Other bass came in and was like whats this guy looking at but they passed on so I decides to flinch just a liitle and he snatched-up the worm-I win hehe. They all pretty much wanted dead stick. The jig bite as well if I was moving the bait no interest but hold.......twitch bam. Spinnerbaits didnt produce nor small cranks. the staredown bass
  20. Well first thing I would suggest is to put some brakes on. You dont have your thumb trained yet so the brakes will help on the star-up inertia. Your errant casts I think are a result of you using force to overcome the spool tension then this force is not controlled by the brakes or you thumb. Am I stating this clearly I hope. Maybe start at max brakes or 3/4ths and work down I dont know type you have. On the spool tension Im thinking your slowly might be a bit too slow, just loosen it til the weight falls just fast enough to where the spool stops with less than one rotation after hitting ground. Start with like 1/2oz weight plug, sinker something with low wind resistance.
  21. On the wacky rig what worm being used? 80'-100' should be attainable with baitcast or spinning reel. with 7' med fast rod 5" senko. Even weightless Rage Thumpers- Anacondas go out pretty far.
  22. Wacky rig a senko- Use nightcrawlers weightless- 1/8oz jig & baby craw, are a few way I fish my local pond
  23. I tried out mine today for about 4hrs throwing 3/4oz SB, 1/4ozjigncraw, KVD 1.0. No rough spots at all no sound on the throw once spool tension adjusted to not be very loose. If the tension too loose it made a chatter but that was with a lot of side to side movement so it wasnt the reel's issue just set-up. On the retrieve with reeling in all the lures at slow to mod pace no issue but when really cranking high speed the gear sound is noticeable but that speed I never fish at. Like mentioned no actual rough spots just an overall geary feel. Might need to look see if gears need some grease. It casts the kvd1.0 great and it just a little over 1/4oz like .260oz Oh the lightweight is nice and noticeable from one set-up to others of mine. I have mine paired with a Smoke rod and its 3.4oz + 5.82 for reel Im at 9.22 and whatever 15#S8S weighs.
