  1. X2 My shimano reels have been my least reliable reels Iv owned wont pay full price for one again. At half price they are priced what they should be.
  2. I only use braid. I use the knot in the PowerPro manual -through the eye twice UNI knot - beat the palomar knot in the knot wars testing
  3. Ive been trying to find it as well all I come up with is a facebook page but nothing much else. They did have website was ok they gave weights and lots of info not there anymore.
  4. Looking for Jackall Iobee frog and SK Blue Craw jig. I just today had my first good outing with Fat Ika that I only used for about 10 minutes prior trip. Ika produced while senko and nightcrawlers didnt happy with Ikas.
  5. Yeah should be taken care of once bail is closed and then give line a little tug to get line seated in lineguide/roller
  6. Im being respectful when mentioning this I feel it is operator error when this happens not equipment. That happens from too much line on spool and/or not pulling slack out of line after flipping bail closed by hand or just useing handle to close bail. A little loop forms over the spool and next time you throw out the line catches the loop and twists it off tangle/knot ensues. You trade that off for backlashes in a baitcaster.
  7. YES YES YES jump on that deal I have Stradic FI and XT's my useage the XT's have been smoother quieter. Heck get 2 and still be ahead of the price of a Stradic.
  8. Always have them with me. Toss them weightless work extremely well sight targeting bass/cats from shore. Ive tried many many local places and Walmart consistantly has the nicest worms.
  9. Different eye material makes some braid noisier but Ive use braid for long time even on cheap uglysticks with no wear issues. Though my Performance Braid is the worst braid I have use as far as noise goes, this line through my Croix Premier sounds like a violin dont even use PB anymore. I have Quantum Smoke with micro-guides and use powerpro super8slick and it is very quiet hardly noticeable.
  10. Ive sent in a broken Avid on a Satuday and by Thursday evening had Avid back in hand St Croix is pretty good to deal with.
  11. Presidents are very nice reels no need to go higher in price use the money towards a nicer rod. I wouldnt pay $120 for a Stradic FI (I paid $130 and feel I overpaid) Stradic FI its not close to being twice as good as a President.wont cast farther, line management isnt any better, President is lighter and the new ones have the braid ready spool. Blow your budget on a $120 reel you going to only get a $60 rod. I think there is a much bigger difference in performance between a $60 rod to $120 rod than there is between a $60 reel and $120 reel. FYI BPS has the Carbonlite spinning rod for $80--http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Johnny-Morris-CarbonLite-Series-Spinning-Rods/product/10205013/108517
  12. Any cover on top of the water, weed mats, lilypads, slop throw a frog and work on top. My PB came on a 92-94 degree day around noon throwing a frog.
  13. Here are a few Oakleys on sale. http://oakleyvault.com/catalog?N=7+100812&Nao=0
  14. Yes http://www.google.com/search?q=baby+bass+senko&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&oe=utf8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=L9jOT8zLLrSK2QXTuen8DA&biw=1015&bih=540&sei=NNjOT-vPEuPO2wW42ujMDA
  15. My PB was caught around noon. The bigger ones for me this year have been between 11am-2pm. I usually get out 7:30am and finish mostly around 3:00pm dont get to fish the evenings much.
  16. BAMA BUG has been a great producer for me. Just bought 9 bags at DSG's 20% off.
  17. I have used lighter braid for years exclusively 8# - 10# PP on spinning gear and wind knots are not an issue for me. I live where it is windy windmill farms all around my area. Most of it is operator error I think closing bail wrong or filling spool too far. About light braid on BC here I differ from most as well I used 10# for 10 years on BC and it works fine for me. I just this year went to 15# PPS8S on 50E and JMCarbonlite and the stuff works great. I dont catch big bass so heavier/larger dia line not needed in my situation. If I were to have digging issues or line management issues I wouldnt have continued its use. I still think most people use too high a test braid just to say they use 65# test. Leader started use of it this year dont notice any difference in hook-ups in water 15' depth vis. If fish dont care about the Alabama rig they wont care about 10# thin braid. I sight quite a few of my catches walking the shore give'em what they want line wont matter. Maybe its the use of thin dia light braid that is the difference and works well without leader.
  18. I emailed Shimano about this and this is the reply I received "It will not void the warranty but we do not suggest using their lubricants in our reels. We have seen some damage occur on certain reel models from their lubricants. We only suggest our lubricants that were designed to work with our products." I picked-up Rem Oil seems to work well
  19. hehe dont have to go through all that, dont have cable. I did watch the show though on their website along with the others you mention.
  20. My favorite senko is Bama Bug but I do well with Clear/black flake as well. The water is geenish tint with around 15' vis.
  21. A senko will work from 1'-110' out, top to bottom.
  22. St Croix ML is a very versatile power. I run the gamut gills to cats on my ML Avid. Quite possibly the best $161 you will ever spend. Too fill out the warrantee registration you will be sent a catalog and decals.
  23. Nice bass there 2x as big as what I caught today.
  24. I have 6'6" MH F Premier spinning it is a good rod. I have a 7'6" M F spinning but the Elite so not sure how equal of a comparison there is between lines but the M F has a very good backbone. Its actually more enjoyable fishing the MF. I have a MH F Shimano Clarus(last year model) and the power seems to match the Premier but the Premier more sensitive. I think the MH F will be fine from senko to 1/2 jig moderate to more heavy cover. If where you fish mostly is more open less structure the MF might suit better.
  25. Hmm seems like rational comments giving ones personal point of view. Being called out as a kid really reflects on the person making that comment and shows who the real fanboy might be, not being able to handle different opinions of a product. These are the same rods that had all the breakage issues, it might have been fixed but still many breakage issues, for every good comment posting I can find a post of a broken veritas. I think many products are over-hyped thats just natural to make ones self feel better of the things they have.
