  1. Oh no, now you have done it. Setting up my new Scorpion 19 HG MGL today and saw this. Hard to resist I must admit. How can you live with no scorpion on the cast control cap? LOL
  2. Thanks much and I am doing great so far.
  3. My xi3 is 55lb, digital, variable speed and it takes a whole lot to bind it up in weeds/grass, especially when I have it set on "10". I believe the blade that came on it is called a machete.
  4. Manually for the last 20 years. Told to do it when I got into bass fishing by an old Potomac river guide, whose primary set up for worm fishing was spinning reels.
  5. And it is back up and running full blast. So much for covid keeping people home.
  6. Two stints went in at 0700 Friday morning from Boston Scientific Company, medicated platinum chromium. Doc says the latest model, LOL. Came home yesterday afternoon and kept an extra day in recovery to get my heart rate down to the normal cruising speed. In a month or so a third one will go in and I am done. Can't wait to get back to normal activity and maybe on the water before it gets way too cold. Thanks to all for your well wishes. Now I am going to play with my new Scorpion 19 MGL reel, which arrived yesterday to greet me. My plan right now is to put it on a 7' MH, fast tip Carbonlite, spool it with 15lb Invizx and throw plastics with it (if I can get on the water again).
  7. I gave in and a Scorpion 19 MGL is on the way.
  8. Two more comments from Scorpion owners: “15 and 17 Scorpions are based on the "i" series reels by Shimano. The 15 being the regular braking system, and the 17 being the DC (Digital Control) braking system. The 19 (MGL)is based on the "k" series reels, which is what is currently being produced.” “You are gonna hold more line on the Scorpion than you are the Curado (MGL)If you are using thin lines, and light baits...Curado. Otherwise, go for the Scorpion.”
  9. When the tidal Potomac goes down to 60 Punisher Hair jigs are very popular and usually in Blue/black. The weight is dependent on where you will throw it on the river and what the tide is doing.
  10. Tackle Tour eval says it is just right for Senkos.
  11. You may have something. The 19 MGL is a 150 size I know. Tackle Tour has a great write up on the Scorpion 19 by Cal.
  12. Anyone know the difference between a Scorpion 17 and a Scorpion 19 reel?
  13. The water has chilled down so much the bacteria scare is over (12 October)
  14. I was talking about sending the reel to him. He is excellent and takes care of a tone of reels for anglers on this forum.
  15. I have been doing my own reels for close to 20 years, but if you are unsure of anything inside your new reel I recommend you send it to Delaware Valley Tackle (DVT) , our site sponsor, and it will be done correctly. It is so easy to screw up a reel.
  16. So appreciated.
  17. Thank you so much.
  18. What you are holding in your pic works well on the dirty tidal Potomac right now with water murky and in the low 70's.
  19. Finally. Got the call yesterday late and going in for stint placement on Friday, 16th at 0700. My heart cath doc will be assisted by a "high risk stint placement" expert doc and kept over night. Sure glad to get 'R' done.
  20. Thank you. Going to be a quiet day with our daughter grilling a steak for us with a big chocolate cake. I may be forced to have a glass of red wine. LOL
  21. Wow! Mine should be easy peasy.
  22. Not sure about posting a link to a competing bass fishing web site.
  23. I bought the less expensive Tracker cover for my ProTeam 175 five years ago and store outdoors, so I have a heavy duty silver tarp bunged over the cover and it has been a perfect fix for rain, hail, snow and ice. The cheapo boat cover still looks new and the boat stays bone dry.
  24. Good point on the stint during the cath and the cath doc said he did not feel comfortable attempting that right then in view of my age and the problems he was looking at. He went up through the wrist. I now have three cardiac surgeons studying the pics and as of yesterday were agreeing to go with the stint. Should hear within a couple of days.
