  1. And keep the gas filled to the brim to prevent condensation in your tank and I only use Yamaha Ring Free in my gas since day one. At least this has worked for me for the last 18 years stored outdoors. No gas or startup problems in the spring and mine has to sit 3-4 months. (same motor for that time)
  2. I will throw in the Curado K for consideration. I have three and about to have four and also have three 70's. Numerous critics on here regarding the K , but I have not experienced anything they have negative comments on. I am no whiz bang reel expert (but I do maintain my own reels) and only know mine have been superb in every respect no matter the lure I use with them. All of mine are 8.5:1 and very smooth.
  3. Holy cow A-Jay, that is a couple of cows you are holding...show off LOL
  4. I highly recommend that you take a look at the incredibly detailed analysis of the $99 bait cast reels on the market by TackleTour.com. They have left no stone unturned in a look at every facet of their components and performance.
  5. I am really fortunate where I launch at the state park on the Potomac near my home because the concrete ramps go way down deep to accommodate the falling tide variations. Power loading is the norm. There is however, a county park north of me where the docks do not float the ramps are stingy in depth, so the county has painted traffic yellow stripes on the docks to define the ramp ends. Launching/loading here on a really low tide can get hairy.
  6. Same use here on the Potomac grass beds with a Mister Twister grub.
  7. I lost my right eye from feeder vessels leaking through the macula 20 years ago and my eye surgeon to me to wear brown, or amber lenses over my good eye. I picked amber as a good all around color for me.
  8. I must be missing something. I have three K's and about to buy a fourth after working the daylights out of them on the Potomac this summer. I have 100B's Curado I's, 70's and 200E's and I am lovin the K's. I strip, clean and lube my own reels, so I can tweek them as I see fit.
  9. Can't comment on that KVD rod, but although I have gone to Carbonlites, I still love my KVD 7' medium 1/4-3/4, 8-17lb spinnerbait rod and another KVD 7' MH worm rod rated 1/4 - 1 1/2 oz and 10-25lb that is so good I frog fish with it. Both rods are over 10 years old and going strong.
  10. Every thing I fish with flouro is now tied with a uni and no more lost lures/fish.
  11. I picked up one similar to this at BPS 16 years ago and the clips on mine are a real heavy vinyl and still strong. I can easily store 12 rods with reels mounted in their rod and reel covers. The circular configuration takes up little room. I built a double sided rack my self to hold 12 more rods, but is half empty. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-spinning-floor-rod-rack-100035354-1
  12. I bought that hydra wire connector, took it to the boat, pulled off all of the fit over wire connectors from the battery and found that half of them will not fit over the screws of the hydra...too small. So it is sitting on the shelf waiting for me to put larger fit over connectors on the wires. A great device though and I was disappointed that I could not use it right away.
  13. Look at the design simplicity of the Curado 100B (I still have two) and you will wonder how in the world did they get such an amazing performance from such a simple design? Mine are now 14 years old and are as smooth as the day they came out of the box and nothing has ever had to be replaced in them. They are like energizer bunnies.
  14. By not made in Japan you must mean the Shimano facility in Maylasia staffed with Shimano personnel and from which the Curado 200I and 200K come. Years ago the Citica 200D came from that facility and it was an absolute brute of a reel. Believe me, there is nothing wrong with reels produced in that Shimano facility.
  15. You have a real labor of love there and are doing a first class job on everything you have done. You will have a bond with that boat forever as you look back on all you have done.
  16. All I have ever used on the Potomac with Senkos is a MH 7' fast tip BPS Carbonlite and never a problem in the big, narly grass beds with a Senko. Many fish it on spinning rods on the Potomac. The Curado 200K I use has 15lb Invizx on it.
  17. Would this work? I used it on my cockpit for gelcoat hairline scratches, but they also have a product for bigger scratches.https://magicezy.com/hairline-fix/
  18. Yes sir, I know it is for calibration, but excercising the calibration screw on mine did stop my tac from wondering around and kept it on RPM. Another boater advised me to try it
  19. Another Paca fan here. I like that it comes in different sizes.
  20. Wow, that is a good one. Mine just putt along with no problem. I tie direct, but I guess you could try a swivel and see if that works.
  21. If my frog braid should get hung up I use a 5" piece of 1/2 in dowel with a little groove around the middle with the edge of a file and any other line I get hung up with. Works great and saves rod tips.
  22. Potomac really thick grass bed= toad Sparse grass bed=buzz bait
  23. Green Pumpkin with gold fleck????
  24. I wear sun gloves and only use braid for frogs, so never had the need to do battle with braid. But fishing where you do I can see where your gloves would be very useful.
